I agree with qt on this Elder Scrolls and modern Fallout business. I kinda hated the fact that Bethesda tried to streamline Fallout's good old cRPG feel to a first-to-third-person hybrid. Adopting the whole 3D sandbox adventure game aspect to the Fallout series basically started making their two hit RPG series feel too similar in play style, which, isn't a bad thing when you are into that particular style, but it sure did take the uniqueness out of them.

8:10 arrow to the knee is an old Nordic saying meaning to wed someone. i.e. get married. "taking an arrow to the knee" = kneeling, like when you purpose etc. The saying is very old, but because of the fact that it is one of the repeated lines in Elder Scrolls: Skyrim by all of the guards "i used to be an adventurer like you, but then i took an arrow to the knee" it became a lot more popular.

Don't worry bro, what QT said about all Bethesda games being the same isn't true.
Because current Bethesda releases are clearly worse than previous ones. Just like Ubisoft with the Assassin's Creed franchise, they have become the victims of their own success and lost sight of what made their games good in the first place in favour of following mainstream copy/paste gaming trends in a cynical attempt to make more money.
Bethesda doesn't make RPGs anymore, they just make action games that happen to have unlikeable characters and poorly written plots shoved in as a weak attempt to pander to the fanbase that love the worlds that were much better constructed in previous games - and it seems that Bioware is following them down the same path.
If I ever become King of the World my first act will be to make sequels illegal. Sure, we'd miss out on some gems, but the heartbreak we'd avoid by seeing our once-beloved series tracked through the dirt by cynical corporations would make it worth it.

i play rpg's and mobas and rts's. and i'd say skyrim and fallout are VERY similar, the graphics, the way they handle the story, the non depth of the world that is shadowed by its openess. as far as dota vs lol goes, they're alot different. they differ much more than fallout from skyrim. i'd argue tho that morrowind is alot different from them too

Fallout 3 and 4 were kind of similar but there were a lot of very interesting things 4 did. 3 and 4 are an *entirely* different beast than 1 and 2. Similarly Skyrim and Oblivion are somewhat similar but Morrowind and Skyrim are extremely different. Skyrim's DLC added a shitload to the game and the thing is that Skyrim isn't like a lot of RPGs. It's simply not to QTs (shit) taste.
QT may be good at League but he has only surface level interest in other games and like many streamers and TH-camrs is probably average at the games he is not known for, which is fine, most people are. But he's very ignorant about the games he is talking about and probably about games in general.
This is all fine, just nobody should take his word as gospel. Asking his opinion is A-OK.

but they ARE the same. both skyrim and fallout revolve around explore -> level up -> do the linear main quest or the repetitive side quests -> eventually become overpowered -> end the game; the only difference is the textures, landscapes and weapons

Even if mechanics are the same, there is always 10 different champions and depending on your teammates skill and your enemie's you change your build order and make different decisions in order to win. Even thought I hate this game its core gameplay is mostly always fresh because its decently made. Which is not the case about bethesda latest releases.

I enjoy League but its quite silly to say every game is vastly different to the last. They are extremely similar, especially at diamond 1 + level. Basically the same exact game with the same 25 champions with the same 400 players over and over. Its still fun but its far more repetitive than Oblivion games imo.

That Raka rune/start build isn't so bad. You can do some dmg with the build in laning phase and you're more free to rush Redemption as first full item instead of Talisman/Oasis. MR isn't so necessary on Raka until mid-late game anyways, and by that time, items like a Crucible would help take care of that.

"Arrow to the knee" does indeed appear in Skyrim, however it originated in Northern European culture years ago. "Arrow to the Knee" was the other way to say that someone got married, and that is the reason behind actually kneeling when asking someone for their hand.
So, esentially, that guard people have memed so hard about simply got married and became a guard in the city in order to be with his wife, no real injury there ^~^

QT is 100% right about Bethesda RPGs all being basically the same. You start off as some famous individual who goes around the world discovering new areas, looting, and meeting the characters from the main storyline. You level up your abilities as you do a bunch of side quests and get some high level items. Then you take your strong self and finish the main quest
