Yeah, I liked that nod. There was some depth to those characters, they stick with you. I know folks be all on about "The Golden Age of television.." these days but man The Wire, Deadwood, and Rome enabled all of these new shows to even exist. I am not as into The Sopranos but that too. You give audiences some character swith even a bit of meat to them, that isn't just some bullshit, and they will get into it.
Twenty-eight minutes into this, I suddenly realized that all of these folks are black. Amazing how universal the film and the artists are. You just don't think of it in terms of categories.

I watched the movie last night. I absolutely loved the movie. A masterpiece!
Amazing talent especially for first time actors.Naomi was out of character but so absolutely convincing I almost didn't recognize her.
