We use this data to help inform the material selection process when designing parts for various scenarios. Acceptability would be a material that fails above the forces you expect your part to experience. I will also say that this provides us with data to help us make informed decisions about choosing materials and coupled with virtual simulation these types of tests are very valuable; however, they do not take the place of real-world prototype testing.
