When I draw from the moment I also feel more relaxed because I think the brain only concentrates on what feels important, while when I draw from a photo all the details are there at the same time and that feels more like work ^^
Yes it does feel more like work. I agree with you there:D
I think your channel is the best resource I’ve found to both inspire me and teach me! You teach things that I wouldn’t even know to ask. Thank you Drew 😃 I drew my first mini comic a few days ago after finding your channel and I was so happy with it.
Thanks Sally, just sharing what I know so far. So glad you enjoy it. Cool, u did a mini comic. You are actually practicing it. Well done! :)
I think this is becoming my favourite TH-cam channel. A perfect mix of entertaining, informative and inspiring! Thank you Andrew!
Totally agree!!
Thanks for the appreciation Dan:) Happy to share things that enrich others. At the same time, learning to enjoy doing these videos and making sure I don't stress myself too much over them haha.
The comic pages are looking amazing! Love the grey shadow and black contrast.
Thanks. Keeping it simple. I find I only need a white, midtone and black to deliver a simple clear picture. So that’s the aim in those pages.
Ok the idea of drawing the coffee shop like a comic is the coolest thing ever I am so don’t that next time!!!!
Haha yes it just drawing smaller. Tho I have to remind myself to draw bigger once in a while. Or I might lose the confidence to draw bigger haha. But drawing small in comic panels is quick and fun.
What a great idea, I’ll give it a try..thanks. Hello from Mexico 🇲🇽
Hello fellow artist from Mexico! Thanks for saying hi. Gosh I love Mexican food:)
Really beautiful man! The folk you draw have great simplicity but with astounding perspective and proportions.
Thanks. I suppose it comes with practicing the same principles over and over for a few years:)
Thank you for sharing. I really like your works.
You encourage me to eat out more. And sketch more.
And drink more coffee.
Well, do eat good food and drink good coffee then!
This is so amazing. I love the freedom with which you sketch.
Thanks. I get days when i feel too uptight when I sketch too. But I do seem to sketch more freely when I’m not worried about it turning out a certain way- not caring too much and just enjoying the experience:)
Terrific compositional arrangement and, more importantly, SPONTANEOUS! No excuses that “there’s nothing to draw…” (which I’ve been guilty of saying 🤫)
Haha yes sometimes the best way is to dive into it and figure it out along the way. It’s not about getting it right. It’s about learning:)
Love it ❤ I love so much the idea of basically a comic of your life. What a wonderful thing to look back at later in life. I have always loved comics as well and loved to draw but always fought with the “what” to draw. Inspiring!!!
Yes there is always something to draw if it’s drawing scenes from my life. And they don’t need to be exciting scenes too:)
Very impressive 😮
Please make more videos like this to inspire young artists like me ❤
I love the idea of making your journal in the style of a manga, with the different size blocks, I’ll have to try that. It looks good and reads well. Thanks.
Absolutely beautiful! I love your sketching technique! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Welcome. Happy to share. Thanks for watching:)
Dude, I love your videos, your points of view and the way you carry yourself. Thank you.
Thanks, it's how I view thing at this point in life. I'm glad it speaks to you in some way:)
Thank you 😊
This is the second time I watch your video, I love how you create the impression that you are drawing by yourself without bothering about the camera. I’m trying to start a drawing vlog myself because I want to be a part of the TH-cam drawing community. Do you have any advise for the first steps? I know this is a lot to ask, I guess is just a token of my appreciation for your work and videos
Hello thank you. I watched your video too and I like the way you draw. And I like how neat and well-lit your drawing desk is. I could learn from you. For vlog filming, I’m still learning as I do them. But I did pick up lots of useful tips from th-cam.com/video/8y-hasHqCK8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7E-cTfBINhFVX9Wp
His tips on talking to the camera also helps a lot. Other than that, it’s all about learning with every video we do, good or bad😄
Loved the content, instantly subbed ! Keep going man!
Always fun to watch you sketch 😊
Nice sketches
Thanks, Drew. I like your style!
this was sweet, useful and inspiring. thank you so much
rather awesome style. inspiring and informative
Thank you Drew! Always a pleasure to watch your process…and, YES you do encourage me to sketch more!!😃👍🏽
Nice!
Thanks for the inspiration, I made a little four panel sketch for my daily drawing today! I can't figure out how to message you or else I would have shared it. Love your channel!
Would love to see it if you want to share it. If you have a link for a blog post or google drive, you could post the link here:)
Great stuff, love these sketches :)
Thanks Matt! I like them too. Tho I'm also trying to evolve and break out of the same old way of drawing all the time haha
What a great collection of drawings
Thanks. Just doing them as a way to force myself to take a breather now and then. Life right now can be pretty non-stop haha
I just found your You Tube channel, I haven't watched everything yet, it's great👍...nicely explained and to watch , easy and nice tips keep it up you've got a big fan😉👍
Grtzzz from The Netherlands✍
Thanks Rob. Grtzzz!
@@Drewscape-art 🙂👍
I just found your channel and subscribed. 🎉
Thank you and welcome!
Nice video but personnaly I prefer normal speed. However I want to know more about your art and I subscribe with pleasure to your channel. Hapiness sketching.
That’s a good reminder for me to go back to normal speed when I have time too. Being busy all the time these days, the faster speed seems to be my normal. I shouldn’t lose touch with a slower speed. Thanks!
DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO FOR BEGINNERS? I WOULD LIKE TO LEARN. ANY ADVICE ON WHERE TO START? GREAT VIDEO. Thank you!!!
Yes. This is my contour drawing crash course where I do my best to break it down:) th-cam.com/video/j0Bx_VGn0yo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=aSaIISFNWVNAnt_L
