This video is incredible.... I recently got into an accident with my 2000 sr5 5speed and couldn't send it to the junk yard. Going to swap it into my 97 limited. Thanks for sharing!!
I’m really interested in doing this myself, and have been all over the place trying to figure it out. Would you be willing to answer some questions or point me in the right direction?
I want to do the swap on my 1999 4runner. I’m wondering if I can keep the transfer case that is currently running behind the automatic transmission. I heard it was a direct bolt-up but I think the shift levers have to be swapped out. What do you know?
@@ahmedkunbargi8096Greetings. I could not find the transmission and it is frustrating I have everything else to make it manual except the transmission.
@@ahmedkunbargi8096 I want the R150F. Do u think this takes away from the reliability of the 4Runner or do u think I should full send on doing this. In highschool I drove a stick but I have missed it ever since
It doesn't really affect reliability at all. I mean, I guess if anything it boosts reliability. Less stuff that can go wrong in the manual trans, and if it needs to be rebuilt it can be done by yourself with a press and a little research
What transmission did you put in it? R150F? I'm curious because I want to do the same swap you've done but I've seen conflicting information about the compatibility of the R150F in the 99 4runners.

Also is your CEL on? I'm in CA and that shit doesn't really fly here. Instead of doing a manual swap, I'm putting a new 2wd body on my old 4wd 5speed frame. Both are year 2000. I have the manual ecu but I heard I might have to swap the entire body harness out of the old truck and put it behind the dash of the new body so I can keep the ignition system. Those two little green and red wires you wired in the video- did that allow you to turn the car on? And did you use your original steering column? Sorry about all the questions, it just seems like an easy swap for you, doesn't seem to easy to me.

Great video thanks for sharing and teaching us how it's done! I can't wait to buy a 4Runner someday I had the chance to buy one one year drove 3 hours to look at it with 5k in hand. But it turned out to be too rusty and I think it may have had a blown head gasket. so I offered 3 grand and the owner declined. This was 5 years ago but man I'll never forget how nice that truck drove and how nice it shifted.

Well hell.. I'm doing a 3.4 and manual trans swap in a 95 4runner. Got the trans, transfer case, drive shafts, clutch pedal assembly, 98 taco 4x4 MT ecu, 98 4runner 3.4, and just ordered a conversion harness for the dash sht. How did you wire up the clutch switch, reverse light, 4x4 indicator, and delete neutral safety? Also i got some weird ass box mounted with long connectors on it where the clutch pedal mounting bracket should go. In for some info!
