Thanks for showing the vent above the door. We just received ours and the delivery crew did not take the tape off of it! My husband and I were debating whether to put milk in the door or not since we do not use it frequently. I found your video and it was terrific!

We bought one, removed all the plastic and door cooling never did anything no air came out the vent ever. Sent it back.
How is the reliability of LG currently? Also, is there any truth to the concept that in hot climates a refrigerator will need to work longer/harder and shorten its lifespan? I live in the hot South West.
It's difficult to say how the reliability of LG refrigerators is doing right now. With them coming out of their class action law suit on their old compressors it seems like they have been taking steps in the right direction when it comes to building a better refrigerator, however, even though the linear compressors are way more efficient and cool faster there have been reports of these compressors having issues in the sealed system. We are working on a video right now which reviews our 2022 refrigerator service calls for the different brands we sell so keep an I out for that. Always remember that the more complex a refrigerator is in terms of features the more potential issues it can have. Ice makers especially are one of the biggest culprits for service issues in refrigerators.
As for hot climates shortening the lifespan of a fridge, it is true that high temperatures can put additional stress on a fridge and cause it to work harder to maintain a consistent temperature. This can lead to increased wear and tear on the fridge and potentially shorten its lifespan, but this is probably the least of concerns in terms of what can go wrong with refrigerators these days.
The craft ice isn’t clear? :(
There's 2 modes for it apparently. 3 per day creates clear ice. 6 per day creates ice that's a bit cloudier. Not sure why they wouldn't show off the super clear ice in the video though.
