First in the series of documentaries on mosques of the world, looks at the architecture of the mosques of the Ottomans.
About the film:
Istanbul, formerly known as Constantinople, is a city that would over
time be the capital of both the Byzantine and the Ottoman Empires.
The Ottomans combined the rich traditions inherited from the Byzantines, the Seljuks
and other cultures with their own.
With time, the Ottoman dynasty refined its own distinctive architectural style. This
culminated in the mid-15th to the mid-16th century with many masterpieces in
mosque architecture that still defines the topography of the hills of Istanbul today.

Real shame to world history that Hagia Sophia was turned into an active worship mosque. Not surprising for the Turks tho. Tolkien didn’t base the orcs off of Turks for nothing!
