Spuhr-fect Replacement Mount for Optilocks?

Tom has had a number of issues with the Opti-Lock mounts on his Tikka rifle recently, so decided to swap them out for a once piece Spuhr hunting mount. I am using optilock with spuhr tops on my tikka 308 for the past 3 years thank god I have never had any problems but I have heard of them giving problems.

Audio is great, I have optilock, no issues so far but great info and will keep an eye out.

Audio is fine.
I have had optilocks on two 85s, a .223 and a .270 with absolutely no problems. However, I bought an very good A11 in .243 with original 40 year old pre-optilock Sako mounts which worked perfectly but were too low for the 7x50 GPO scope that I bought based on your review. After a lot of research I bought a set of optilocks based on the recommendation and assurances of a very well known UK retailer. I am not doubting their integrity.
However, I have gone through exactly the same experience with these optilocks as you have described with no resolution to the problem after a year.
I don't think the Sphur system that you are now using will work with the A11 because I have to load cartridges through the top of the action.

Spuhr is bombproof. Are you sure that you got the Optilock Tikka bases? The rear base shown looked like it had some taper? Used Optilocks for 25+ yrs without issue apart from the shit quality of the ring screws…

Best part about optilooses how they look when first mounted. Other than that they are over priced junk, they rust and tarnish like cheap Chinese mounts. And the design of the single screw is pants.
