Hey Mate, I have the 2010 xr6 and im looking at doing the same thing. Does it hold up over time alright? also do all of the steering wheel fetures work?? Cheers :)
@@zephyrburns680 hey bud, yeah everything works fine mate, steering wheel functions are flawless actually I can't fault the unit at all, installed it about 9 months ago, when I installed it the climate control didn't work properly and when I opened the driver's side door the display was showing r/h rear door open (mine is a ute) contacted support and they were quick in there response and walked me through the settings, great sound with factory speakers and all apps work exactly the same as an Android phone, highly recommend it mate and looks great 👍 plenty of videos on utube if you choose to install it yourself as I did
Hi, my son has a 2009 FG XR6 UTE. I'm told it is compatible with FP9650SK Install Kit, but this kit places the screen quite low. Much prefer the screen being at the top as shown in your video. Is your Install kit compatible with my sons car? And if so, are you able to share the reference number so that I might be able to source it for him? Many thanks.
@@AutoChimp May be a pain, do you think you guys could actually do one during your next install on the FG model? The guy in the below video you guys uploaded for the Overline BA/BF ICC was awesome, extremely clear and did every single small thing step by step and gave good little tips. th-cam.com/video/5YcweuRGZ0A/w-d-xo.html
Just to double check, this system replaces the Audio control module for MK1? I've got a fault on my original ACM and if this replaces the original, i suppose that kills two birds with one stone.
Hey guys, how much does your new replacement unit cost ? i am definitely interested in getting this to replace my stock setup in my FG MK1 2008-2010 sedan
Only problem you have now is you can't see your Aircon settings, and the radio station is set too, if you have the black and white version, better off getting the touchscreen off the XR8 FG and slapping it in, cheaper too!, and works the same, just coloured touch screen that has bluetooth music player and everything else.
Hi mate is there a price for this head unit and does icc support mean I can keep trip computer and economy etc (and do they make for 2006 territory?, thanks mate
Ohw fuck no, anyone who reads this don't twitch cables together an wrap it with electricial tape... You should only ever solder an use dual wall heat shrink...it will cost you $50 for a nasty iron an heat shrink kit or $15 for 20 scotch locks at worst... Its audio/visual you have to be neat at soldering or you will have shit quality
Ok anyone doing the install to a fg mk2 Dont drill the hole. It did. And it didnt line up. With the mark 2 use the original hole he said to drill above. It lines up now. I love the unit have a few issues tried to email kayhan audio. But no response so far
Ziyad Houzaife hi could you please help mine in my mk2 doesn’t line up it looks like it does but the bracket holes for the bolt s don’t line up they are too far forward thanks
Just bought one of your mk2 systems and the oem factory reverse camera wiring is different to what you are showing ...the car your working on is a mk1 and has 3 plugs at top.....mk2 has 2 plug...one is usb and other has about 15 wires that plugs into oem screen....can't find any information about wiring for camera... When i put car in reverse parking sensors work but screen black with "sensor car" picture on the left side and no video feed written on screen.
With the money this thing cost the unit should at the very least have had all the holes in the new ICC unit line up with the holes on the factory brackets without modification. Nothing lines up and the video is BS because doing what is shown does not work for mounting as the bottom of the unit hits the metal in the dash and it won't slot into place. Even after drilling many holes in the factory brackets to try and make it fit it still does not. Very disappointed as all I have right now is a $900 paperweight. Not happy at all... And still, no detailed installation video from Carbon Car Systems which might shed some light on how to actually get it done properly. " Sigh "
yeah this video is misleading at the most crucial time...hope this helps you get it in Firstly he suggests 15mm above the "square shape" hole @9:55, at this point he is holding the bracket upside down...so remember to disregard how he is holding it at that point. The whole goes "above" the square hole as the brackets would sit the right way up. Then secondly, the 15mm. I found 15mm wayyyy to high. My ICC would not align with the factory rails and lucky i had a spare 2 brackets tried 10mm and it slotted in. Even then had to screw the shit out of the 4 bottom screws to get it to slot in. He makes no ref to where is measuring from as well, could be the egde, centre who the f knows. I measured 10 from the edge of the square hole, marked it and made that the centre of my new hole. Also if you don't have the factory reverse camera wiring, you could just run the power off one of the reverse light and earth it... Good luck.
Hey there Lewis. Thanks for the information. I went out and grabbed another set of side brackets and I will try again. Really appreciate your reply. Pity these guys at Carbon Car Systems and Kayhan Audio couldn't do the same. Thanks again mate.
@@ziyadhouzaife1102 in short yes, though there is a small (maybe 1mm) gap between the screen and the stock bottom half...you can barely see it but i know its there and it shits me. I think its related to the Screen Mount brackets and the stock 2 side rails not lining up correctly.
@@jarredwilkinson3507 It constantly won't work. Basically it is not reliable. For example, if i start up the car with the radio going. No other app or service can use audio even if I turn the radio off. Have to reboot the entire unit. Audio will stop working at random times also which needs a reboot. It also came with a bug that drained the battery and caused me to have to buy a new battery. That's on the Mk3 unit, the bug has been around since the first model. Navigation like google maps will crash, again needing to reboot it. Mobile calls work 50% of the time, so if you get a call you may or may not be able to answer it. To fix all this you have to use their crazy method of updating the software and still, with all the latest patches etc it still malfunctions regularly. There is also annoying things like the unit telling you it doesn't have a SIM card. Because you cannot install one (would have been so good if you could). You also need to make sure your mobile hotspot is up and running before turning on the unit or it may not pick it up unless you go into the wifi settings or restart the unit (aka restart the car) It basically more trouble than it's worth.
Installed one in my 2010 F6, great bit of gear love it 👍👍👍👍👍

Does the main plug from the radio part have RCA inputs to attach amplifiers? And is there an app for the LCD to still see the aircon settings?
