You've done it again! My granny lived in Olustee. I was fortunate enough to spend an entire summer with her and my grand daddy the summer before he passed and ooh wee, my granny made a lot of those cornbread pancakes for me and because my real mother never cooked for me I ate so much of those pancakes with syrup, grits, eggs, greens, and fried fish (some of which I caught) that by the time the summer was over and I went back home to Jacksonville, I must must have gained at least a good 10 pounds! I think she used lard though. I love those pancakes; they taste so good! Thank you for the recipe because although I've tried to make them myself they didn't taste like hers, but your pancakes look like hers and I'm sure they taste like hers too!
I usually take the day off for my birthday which is next month so I will make the pancakes for myself. However, I've forgotten which type of syrup she used, it has been over 30 years now and I'm sure it wasn't corn syrup nor maple syrup, I think it was brown in color.
I love your recipes, thank you for sharing them.

My grandmother used to make it like this. She used to throw card games and make fried chicken and corn bread. The whole neighborhood would come over to play cards, get a plate, and joke.

Thank you for showing us the old school way. My momma called these richman hoecakes and I love them😋 She'd have to make dozens for all us youngings. I do prefer these over the oven cornbread and my husband and daughter do to. One of the next recipes I'm teaching my teenage daughter. Thank you ❤️

Look delicious- when I was a kid I'd eat them with syrup because they tasted sweet like pancakes- my parents used to make this delicious bread and called it hoecakes. I thought they made up the name😁. My parents are southern and our friends enjoyed eating at our house because my parents cooked food they'd never eaten before. I have to try your recipe. I love your channel ❤️
