Thanks Vevor! I have been waiting on this video! Can this be used in a house of power goes out? Of course vented. Omg, you name everything how you think it should sound 😂
My brothers got one and he ran a the exhaust through a 3/4 conduit about 15 ft ran on offset on the wall then outside ... you then get the beneifit of the exhaust heat and its really cool by the time it exits outside ...
Sounds like a great way to get condensation in the exhaust line. All fine as long as there's a low point drain so the pipe doesn't rust out and lead to exhaust fumes in the space
@@jc_yadigg He's got everything running down hill and its made out of the galvanized electrical conduit ... by the time it rusts out the cheap heater will need to be replaced anyways ...
I was kind of wondering how long they would last. Because of how cheap they are. That’s a very good point. I’m probably going to mount it permanently over past the window on the wall and run the lines differently.
Fityed something similar into my uninsulated workshop last year. Could take the temperature from 1deg to 10deg in 3 hours. Helped with getting the Beetle finished over winter.
I know for a pellet stove they use a double wall flange for the wall . I like the heater but i would use a double wall flange setup if i installed it permanently. Thanks for a very nice test. And when your installer placed the thermostat for your home’s furnace they installed it on an inside wall for that reason, good luck finding a good placement in a garage. We always placed it on the side of a gas or oil furnace that we placed in a garage.
Thanks for the comments and the extra tips. I really appreciate that! I do need to find a double flange, I would sleep better at night knowing that lol thank you so much for commenting.
Nice! Thanks for posting this video, there's probably a bunch of us who have similar garage heating challenges! A couple of comments: 1.) does the heater cycle off/on when it reaches the set temperature? 2.) need to figure out a way to use the exhaust heat to help heat the space, by this I mean, make a cover with a fan/blower that pushes the "waste heat" from the exhaust pipe into the room too. I'm very encouraged by your video; I really like that it's a dry heat as my experience with a kerosene heater was lots of rust!
@@edrowley1 yes it will turn itself off, and turn itself back on to whatever you have the temperature set at. I don’t think you would want that exhaust pipe into your living area or where you are sitting. That would be the same as a diesel trucks exhaust pipe being in your house while it’s running so please don’t do that brother unless I’m misunderstanding.
i using one for several months and they work fine. the only thing that you have to do is to make sure that you don't have big bents in the exhaust and lay it in a down worth position. because they can build up a lot off soot in it and then you have to open it to clean it. also i use red diesel for the heater, it's cost less money and burns the same. overall a very good heater( i have the 8kw).
Thanks for all the advice brother I truly appreciate that very much. I just bought auto diesel? I don’t know if that was the right one to buy. It was very cheap. Hopefully I have the exhaust set up properly. Seems to work well so far.
I know for a pellet stove they use a double wall flange for the wall . I like the heater but i would use a double wall flange setup if i installed it permanently. Thanks for a very nice test.
Seems the intake and exhaust are only for the combustion chamber and it won’t come in through the heat vent. The unit itself has a “cold air return” on the back and a fan that blows fresh heated air out. Lots of guys mount the air intake inside too. That would put warmer air in the combustion chamber and probably give you even better heat. Great video. I just bought the same heater and it showed up today. I’d be sure to have a good CO detector nearby. These are $85 Chinese heaters so plan accordingly.
Great watch. Where’s the thermostat on it to tell it, it’s at temp? Also have you set a temperature on it yet where it actually reaches it and goes off? Anyone watching this who wants to spray in there garage, don’t run it at the same time or for a while afterwards, the stuff we tend to spray with is highly combustible 💣
The thermostat I believe is right on the front where the controller is. Spraying with any type of heater that is combustible is a bad idea. I really like how it heats, there was no odor, thankfully. But I have to do some bodywork soon, so that means I’ll have to run my electric one during that.
Oh, it definitely is. I have a pretty large Dyna Glo electric heater hanging from the ceiling in the garage. That’s pretty strong. But it’s not user-friendly on the electric lol
Great video, as always. Not a big deal but since heat rises, wouldn't it be better to flip the intake and exhaust lines around so the intake (above) doesn't suck in the hot exhaust air from below?
@@ralphmans truthfully after I did it, I realized, I have to swap those around. What I did find out, that intake that is out outside doesn’t pull fresh air It’s something to do with the pump. I have to do more research but I do agree with you! And thank you for being here.

Just a little concerned about the intake next to the exhaust. Although, I think that bottom intake is just for the sake of combustion though so shouldn't affect air quality. That is the fan on the back as you mentioned.
@@Slatersave yes exactly! The intake on the back of the machine itself, is what pulls the fresh air in. I may relocate the outside intake below the exhaust. But it doesn’t actually pull in air from that hose to the inside air quality. I hope that made sense. Since it's diesel burning, can it burn used oil? Even if you have to dilute it with the diesel 50/50, that would be a huge help.
