  • Botswana's former president Ian Khama says his family is being persecuted in his home country. He alleges that his twin brothers Anthony and Tshekedi Khama, have been arrested in an attempt to harass his family. Last year, he fled Botswana and sought refuge in South Africa.

    This is a very very very Strange behavior of Botswana. What is happening to a country which has been a beckon of hope and peace for most SADC countries.Is Botswana turning into a Dictatorship??? If so it must be condemned strongly

    This saga won't end the former president and his family thought Botswana was their kingdom, their level of corruption is legendary he should stay wherever he is. He ordered the state sponsored killing of civilians now he is crying wolf.

    Sir Seretse Khama and his wife Lady Ruth Williams Khama were their parents they were dignified. To those that are not acquainted with Botswana history LADY RUTH WAS WHITE FROM THE THE UK, Botswana was one of the African countries to be desired for. Interesting history, shameful that Botswana is becoming like any other African country. Botswana/Bechuanaland the birth place of my grandmother.❤️🇧🇼 Working out their differences indeed for the sake of BOTSWANA PEOPLE.

      Yeah, during the Era of Khama Jr as vice president all the way through his presidency Botswana was such a shining example of sub Saharan Africa.
      You could not even attempt to bribe a cop, could not throw liter anywhere except for the designated bins either in the bus, or private car.

      I thought SA gvt is helping all South Africans, the unemployed are getting grants, single mom's getting grants, elderly getting pensions, students getting grants. What really do u require the gvt to do for u, what help, u go to the bank they can give u a loan R500000. Pple need to take advantage of these opportunities inorder to change your lives. Otherwise you will always mourn about foreigners.
      Please take up serious qualifications, not Human Resources Management and other cheap courses.

    Yeah he is half British and his dad was a King that studied in England as a prince at the time.
    The idea is Britain educated Africans too. I never denied that.. I was educated under a British system. Cambridge to be exact.
    They would prepare and send/fly the exam paper, we would take it, and they would fly the papers back to Cambridge for grading and sent us back a Cambridge Certificate with your grades. I did my O and A Level exams like any British child.
    In fact I suspect our papers were harder because we didn't just learn for example, British history, we had to learn African too and I know British citizens wouldn't bother with that.
