      Your right. They had had the opportunity to buy Mbappe, De Jong, Bellingham, Jesus, De Ligt, Haaland. All of these players were scouted at 15 and 16 years of age and had been highly recommended by the scouts and even Ryan Giggs went over to watch them play as well after they been recommended and came back and told Van Gaal to sign Mbappe, De Jong and De Ligt and he refused. Scouts even resigned because of the players we were refusing to sign. We could of signed all these players for under £150m. People need to stop feeling attachment to a bunch of bricks.
    If its better for the club to build a fully new stadium, they should do that. What makes the club is the people. Not the stadium, not even the players. It's always the people and the community around it. People need to realize that.
    Highbury was imo iconic and when they moved into the Emirates it felt off. But years after people have gotten used to it and there's loads of atmosphere in that stadium now. I remember the same with Ajax. When Ajax moved from their old stadium into The Cruyff Arena and felt like an empty bunch of bricks. But years after they gave it an identity and it feels like Ajax now.
    My point is that it shouldn't matter. Old Trafford will stay a part of their history and a new stadium would become a new part of their history. You can't stay forever in a bunch of bricks, one day it will fall apart but the club can stay on its feet due to the people and community around it, thats the actual club.

      I’m 62 now, and first went to OT in 1972 when I was 10…..loads of great memories in that place - but I honestly think it’s time to move on. The canal and the railway is the main issue, with the footprint I just saw there. Spurs built within their own stadium, but just changed the angle. If they do that with this, then it can work. But, they will be talking about this for another couple of years and nothing will happen. It'll probably start around 2027 or onwards

    • @csl750
      @csl750 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yea... looking at that images... they'll have to flatten the current staduim and change the angle.. then its still sort of old trafford... they will need a new home to play at in the interim.

      @@csl750 goodison Park will be empty next year 🤣
      The problem however, is what they can do in terms of the foundations near the canal and railway lines, they may have less room than you think as the footprint would be deeper than current to support higher tiers. Plus you have the problem of whether future expansion capacity will be possible, be little point in doing it if you only get a small increase with no further expansion without moving to a different location entirely. The space is rather oddly shaped too. Remember too that it is much more than just the space for the stands, you have to have areas for fans to be contained, facilities and other things. Plus they need the council and police to approve any plans.

Chelsea and PSG are also some good examples of this. When Chelsea was bought 2 years ago a lot of good people also left the team which left them in their current situation.
