Aqua-The -Smiter you have spiked my imagination to draw HP moths lol... I am a Hufflepuff... We badgers always get picked on for being the "lame and cuddly" house tho 😂 but cuddly cute things can sure have a nasty bite...
I like everything about this video. You're not only taking care of a beastie, you are learning in the process, creating a video around it, and sharing it with the world. The world needs more people like you, keep it up!

At this point people are just critisizing her for not even doing reserch on a specie she wishes to take care of ( cause she acctualy couldve killed it the way she touched and handled it right after hatching) taking in fact shes so " enthusiatic". Its lie buying a puppy and trying to feed it fish food 😂
Your enthusiasm is contagious. I love moths. They're beautiful and fascinating. I remember visiting my father and we sat in the garden. When I turned around covering the wall were lots of hawk moth caterpillars. They were huge and glorious. You did a superb job with raising and releasing Harry. Congratulations 😀🦋
I worked in a butterfly exhibit for four years, so I'm pretty fond of butterflies and moths. They are so beautiful but they have very short lives once they hatch from their chrysalis/cocoon. (Butterflies come from a chrysalis, moths from a cocoon.) My job was cleaning out the deformed ones in our hatching chamber. I thought poop on my hand was gross until I was cleaning the chamber and a dud chrysalis fell onto my hand and exploded, spewing slush and goo all over me. I imagine that's what a human corpse would smell like if it was left in the sun.
Do you want a caterpillar? Cause I have one. I MIGHT give her away in my future channel. If you do I'll post a vid on the topic of caterpillars and butterflies. Take Care!
Blue Bowser they’d still have owls and bats trying to eat it at night though, no matter what time of day she released it there’s always a chance for predators
Only time a moth could harm you is if you freak out and accidentally hurt yourself, but that is technically your fault, not the moth’s fault, harmless little buddies.
I actually first learned about these in a real world encounter. At first I thought I was looking at a hummingbird but when I got closer I saw that it had antennae and was fascinated. I live in Northern Minnesota so I never thought I'd see such an insect up here. One of the most interesting animals I'd ever seen.
When I was like 8 or 9, I found two giant months connected to each other in my front garden. I thought the two moths were connected to each other like Siamese Twins and got asked my parents to have a look. They told me that they were mating and that's how I learned what sex was
What an incredible video! Thanks you so much for that! The time lapse was so cool!! That was something I never thought I'd appreciate until now! Kudos!
We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness (Surah Al Fussilat 53 from Holy Quran)
Nature is amazing. I’m so glad to see that many ppl out there get so excited about even the smallest creatures. It took almost a year to turn into this incredible moth..wow! I’d like to have a tiny camera, to watch the entire process inside of a chrysalis.
Next time you raise a moth, during those 8th months you are waiting, please do your research on how to care for them! You would have known not to handle him right away, and to wait so that he wouldn't leak all over your hand. When the moth shivers, he is readying his wings for flight.
Love this, love Harry, love your photography! Absolutely fascinating, and your enthusiasm is just beautiful!! Thank you for giving the smallest creatures love and showing compassion. Harry is beautiful, you've done an amazing job keeping him safe!
I love the appreciation you have for life and all living creatures, you put such awe and wonder into that small creatures life you genuinely are an amazing person I wish more people could see the world in your light. God bless you buddy.
Well done LP , your patience paid off; I would have lost track of where I'd put it after so long!.. and a lovely little film too. David Attenborough eat your heart out!
I hatched an elephant heads hawk moth, I found him out side on our path, it was poring with rain so we put him in a pot with some paper to dry him out, 2 weeks later he hatched, I released him on a warm evening and hoped that he has survived....
What lovely macro shots! Quite the cutie, Harry is! Fun fact: It's thought by some that the word "butterfly" is actually a reference to that buttery stuff they poop out. Yeah, I guess Harry's a moth, but same order, at least.
Thanks so much for the video. I was in the park with my four year old niece yesterday and found an elephant hawk caterpillar. Never seen one before so I took a photo and found out what it was. I'm going to show her this video and I hope she becomes as enthusiastic as you clearly are. She's going to love watching this and I can explain how fascinating moths and butterflies are. Great job.
You did what you could with what knowledge you had well done. There were some things you probably should have avoided though so a little more research would be recommended especially with things that have been done before. Awesome moths these are, beautiful colours again well done.
omg I thought I was the only one that like freaked out over ants and moths and other small animals that no one cares about lmao everyone thinks I'm weirdbc I used to raise catipillars into moths everyone thought I was just weird lol
You are weird. But that's ok it's better than being normal. Lol. I keep scorpions and beetles a lot. I'm gonna attempt to start on spiders but I'm deathly afraid of tarantulas, not because they are hairy but because I've been bitten by my brothers rose hair. :/ But hey keeping insects is awesome and fairly interesting if you know what you're doing so keep being "weird".
That’s amazing. We found an Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar in our garden, 3” plus long. August 10th 2020. Hopefully we'll see him flying next year. Thanks for sharing your beautiful video. 👍
@6:36 The stuff that came out is excess hemolymph (insect blood). The reason why it has a lot of hemolymph is that it needs extra internal body pressure to fully develop its wings. You cannot see veins on Lepidoptera (insect order for butterflies and moths) because of the presence of either scales or hairs. The venation in the wings circulates hemolymph in order to expand them soon after emerging from the pupa. Insects in general whether they make pupae or not, need extra hemolymph so that their bodies can come out of the exoskeleton or chrysalis. During the molting process, they have to push out of what's called the ecdysial line on the thorax. This is easily broken by making and pumping extra hemolymph throughout the body.
Leopard Gecko But you did an amazing job taking care of him and being his ''mum'' when he needed it the most ;D And you got some nice footage to look back on :)
