👉 DIY Patio Chairs That Should Last My Son's Lifetime

  • The downside? They cost over $700 in materials! 😬 That's because we used all-weather composite decking which requires no staining or painting and has a lifetime warranty. Unfortunately, it's also VERY flexible - nowhere near as sturdy as real wood. We'll see how that plays out.
    What do you think about the Adirondack-inspired modern style? They were lot of fun to build, but let us know what you think in the comments - was it worth it??

    just started this vid but one great way to strengthen the material is to fasten to pieces of material together in a "T" ir " L" shape. If you look at 2x4 saw horses , typically the lintel/ beam/ rail , ie, the larteral portion at the top, is usually an upside down "T" if looking at the end if the horse.

    Awesome project. They turned out so well ! As a man of generous proportions, I would need to put some support on the underside of the chairs.

    Awesome project. But needs a table or cup holder. You could also design the back and arms to move like 2 or 3 notches for individual comfort. Just ideas floating in my head.

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great ideas! I debated cutting a circle out of the armrests for a cup holder, and ultimately liked the clean look instead (luckily the arms are wide and sturdy, so you can still place a cup on them). And man, doing a customizable version would be awesome - slightly trickier though! 😅

    You could try it with hdpe(milk jug) plastic melted into a board shape, it would be nearly free, and maybe stronger.

    Hey guys, just wondering what that red tool you used for angles is called. Thx

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      The one shaped like an L? It’s called a square. This particular one is a Milescraft framing square.

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Dan came up with different designs on Sketchup and preferred the square back. It might not be for everyone, but we like it!

    Add a cup holder to those arm rests !!

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      We thought about it, but decided we like the clean look with no hole. And a cup could sit just fine on the armrest.

  • @snowboarddan5899
    @snowboarddan5899 ปีที่แล้ว

    Should angle the back to give it some shape and and cup holders

    • @BroBuilds
      @BroBuilds  ปีที่แล้ว

      Like a curved back, so the sides wrap around you a little bit? Cup holders ALMOST made it into the final design. 😁 I just ended up liking how they looked without. And, the arm rests are still wide enough to hold stuff.

      No, but if there's enough interest we can try to come up with some. Everything was just sketched on some graph paper and then figured out during the project.
