Can you please please please do some sort of reaction to Roswell New Mexico? It's one of my favourite TV shows, just finished it's third season and it's incredible. I don't mind if you do a first and last episode thing or do every episode because i can almost guarantee that you will love it.

A cute detail: when Sara asks Simon if he kissed the prince, she uses the word "pussa", which is normally used about light, on-the-cheek kisses. When it's used about on-the-mouth kisses, it's kind of a childish turn of phrase. So she's essentially saying, "Did you give the prince a little kissy?"

@@SirKolass They never said it meant kiss on the cheek. They said "pussa" is mostly used like that since it's a more childish word to use for actual kissing. So she did basically say "kissy" or at least kiss but in a, I guess, cuter way. :)

Every time I see someone talking about this show I just wish I could put into words just how tangibly real this show feels to me. As a queer Swede who grew up in a town similar to Simons Bjärstad but who also have met quite a few posh people in my life, every character in this show, even if they just show up in one or two scenes, feel so familiar to me, like people I've met in real life. I don't think I've ever watched a show before that made me feel this way. No matter how realistic and relatable a show is, there's always a level of suspension of disbelief that's still needed, but for this show everything feels so natural I almost forget it's not real. They really got everything right when creating this show, especially the characters.
Agreed 100 %!!! And what I also like very much about this show is that it is not only focussing on one kind of labelled love (gay, hetero ... if you get my meaning) it's about love - period! I often have had (and in some movie scenes still do) like a cringy feeling when I see how they are portraying other than heteronormative intimacy. I watched Red, White and Royal Blue yesterday and even if it's a very entertaining show and the actors for the most part do a good job it is still a show with cringy moments (for me at least) and you are always aware of it being a construct. On the whole the portaying gets better I guess, since the younger actors are getting better in doing that in a believable way (like with Grizz and Sam who were my first gay couple that I absolutely adore) but as you said - with this show you can actually forget about the gender of Wille and Simon completely and focus only on the feeling that transcends through camera, cut and viewing... If anything the show focusses on the things surrounding all the kids and not into putting love into boxes ... fun fact for me - I'm actually learning Swedish with the help of this show ... 😅that is actually how I got to YR in the first place. I have started before like with an app and by starting to read Harry Potter in Swedish but this is so much better to do it with the subtitles. And also I'm vibing a lot with the music choice of YR so I have like a whole Swedish playlist now and also translated many songs already. I have seen more other shows in Swedish now and get better and better in understanding without the subs (but I am a little pissed that I can not watch Swedish TV, since Netflix does not have that many Swedish shows/movies )... So if anybody else who's reading this wants to learn that language - I can highly recommend this show. If you're like hooked on rewatching it anyway you might as well learn a language ... 🙃
Also a small note, Edvin (Wilhelm actor) confirmed that Wilhelm doesn’t have a label on his sexuality so we don’t know if he’s attracted to girls
Your small note is a totally unnecessary one. The only thing that can be observed is that he's having sex with another guy. From that, concluding he is gay is reasonable.

i agree with u, the frist kiss scene was soo great. the viewer could really feel the tension that both simon and especially wilhelm felt in that moment. one of my fav scenes
Feel bad for August about his dad, but otherwise nope, don't like him.
Good drama requires a good villain, so I think August is a great character.
And the actor (Malte) who plays August does a good job making the audience hate him.
My hope for season 2 is that August is around to create even more drama for our heroes.

When you said that you loved the vibe of episode 2 compared to episode 1, I felt the same way. It was not until episode 2 that I fell in love with this show. Once it found the tone that it wanted to take in regards to Wilhelm and Simon's characters and their interactions together, I was hooked. Acting, writing and directing are rarely this good in my opinion. The show felt more authentic with the second episode.

Cox is short for coxswain, meaning steward of the cog (dinghy). The cox is the boat's navigator, they sit at the bow or stern and steer the boat while directing and motivating the rowers. They do not row so a smaller team member is ideal for weight distribution and balance. I don't think it was really meant as a joke. Wilhelm just found it funny watching August try to be nice.
I really don't think August was being nice. I'd say that was August insulting Simon for being small (the same way the insulted Simon when he was talking about how great it was in rowing that class and ethnicity was irrelevant) and Wilhelm laughing nervously because he felt like he had to, like August expected it.
@@readwritehike2869 Yeah, I agree to that, in Swedish it is not a joke about cox-whatever, those words are not in the sentence, but more likely a joke on Simons behalf that he is short/small, like upper class people (at least in Sweden) often tend to do, they hide an insult as politeness/praise, exactly like the rowing/class - etnicity sentence.

ever since I finished this show, I could not stop thinking about it. This is genuinely such a good LGBTQ show and the good communication between Willie and Simon was so good. The chemistry between the actors are good as well, ughh i just love. Really wish I have something like it haha. August... he can just f himself. He is so annoying, he gets on my nerves so much, and the uploading video of Simon and Willie... that was so low of him. Willie's literally your cousin broooo, frick you. All in all, I cannot wait for season 2 and cry even more because of how lonely I am.

Well a Cox or coxswain is an actual rowing position, they are the guys who face the other way on the boat and control the speed of the boat and the direction which it takes.
They dont row but rather issue commands to the rowers to enable them to concentrate on rowing while the cox takes care of everything else.
Traditionally they tend to be smaller and younger than the rest of the team but are still very important as the team and the boat couldn't function without them.

Thanks so much for uploading your reaction. I’ll try and see the rest on patreon. But so you know a lot of people reacted to the whole season! I hope you change your mind! Also my opinion on August is that he is a troubled child. He is the antithesis of Wilhelm. Which creates such an interesting tension on the show. Because if you think about it, Wilhelm and August are raised in the same royal circle, but somewhere along the way, August didn’t have any support from anyone. I mean his mother sent him to a boarding school so she wouldn’t have to deal with him after his dad died. She just wants to have fun. Wilhelm on the other had his brother as confidante for most of his life. I mean don’t get me wrong, Wilhelm is troubled too, but goodness was instilled with him through his brother. I’d even go as far as saying that the Queen has a hand in it as well, even though it may not look like it, she does care about her son’s future…its just a bit displaced at the moment because Wilhelm is different than his brother and he’s a different challenge for her and she just doesn’t know what to do with him. Anyways. I think August’s arch is yet to be resolved just like Wilhelm. But i believe he has the potential to become a better person…after all he’s just a silly teenager…we all do stupid stuff at that age…
Simon and Wilhelm are SOO adorable together. Felice has a fantastic character arc in S1. While Sara seems to go in the opposite direction. August is so frustratingly awful and makes such bad choices.

the fox is the smallest guy who basically directs the boat. august is a terrible person but he was being literal and correct here.
A cox or coxswain is an actual rowing position, it is the person on the team who doesnt row but faces the other way to the rowers and controls the speed at which the rowers pull there oars and they dictate the direction that the boat travels in.
They may not row but they are still pretty important as they issue the commands to the rowers and control everything about the boat leaving the rowers free to concentrate on there rowing.
They are also traditionally a bit smaller and often younger than the others on the team, so I'm pretty sure August is just giving Simon a slightly backhanded compliment here rather than trying to make some sort on innuendo.
Not a compliment though. He was just addressing how Simon is small and has less bodily strength compared to others in the team.
