- Having to put the generator in the back of the Jeep or in the camper was not very convenient. In this video you will see how we fixed this issue, and how you can too! Each fix that we add just makes the "Rescue Wagon" better and better, and allows us to BE FREE! #cargocamperconversion #rvlife #diycamper #befreebenson #campertrailer #generator

I set up a Ford Transit for living. Installed 2- deep cycle AGM batteries with a 3000w inverter. It powered my refrigerator, lights and microwave or coffee maker. Used a floor model ac unit and a small cube heater powered by a generator. Later I added a 2 battery charger from Bass Pro so that when I ran the generator, it charged the batteries. This took the load off the generator of the other items in conjunction with the ac or heat.
That's awesome! What kind of refrigerator do you have?
Predator 3500
Oh, refrigerator, it was a small under counter model from Home Depot.
“Be Free” loved it. Thx for sharing.
Thanks so much for watching!!!
I liked how you found a good compromise. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks!
After watching your Gas can install, I found the generator as well! Thanks, I appreciate it! Liked and subscribed...
Awesome! Thank you!
You guys are so creative! I love how you come up with such cool ideas!
Thanks!
Nice set up, thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much!
Would you mind posting a few pics of the gen. box mounting / welding supports? Or maybe in your next posting ..? Thanks.

Thanks for watching.! I will post something soon.
You can install a soft start kit on your ac and it lowers the initial draw as the ac starts up and allows that generator to have a little buffer
That is really cool! I didn’t know something like that existed. I will check that out. Thanks so much for your help!
Looks like you are not gonna make any left turns without crunching the genset with the truck or car towing.
I have a hitch extension that keeps it just far enough away!!! Thanks for watching!!!
How are you doing with tight turns with that gen box on the trailer tung. I had our cargo conversion tung extended 12”. When we ordered it. No tight left turns I guess? Plus I have a 3” extended receiver.
I have a 9 inch extension that I use with the hitch. It’s snug but I can turn very sharp with out hitting. I haven’t tried turning the wheel all the way and going in a circle (it would probably hit) but I don’t need to do super sharp turns because the trailer is so short and easy to maneuver. Thanks for watching!!!
what happens when you turn the truck, and the tailgate slams the generator?
I actually use an extension for the hitch. I also added a weight distribution hitch to keep the jeep from sagging. I now have plenty of clearance. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Should of had a locking top to carrier
I use a locking cable. I have added locks to everything to keep passers-by from helping themselves. LOL. Thanks so much for watching!!!
Propane generator might be better
Thank you so much for wtaching!!! I have looked at dual fuel. I had a hard time finding one that would mount on the front with the space constraints. If you know of one let me know. Thanks.
how is it mounted to trailer
The box that holds the generator is welded to the tongue of the trailer and an additional piece is welded to the frame under the trailer. This sounds complicated, but there are a lot of people who can construct and weld something similar based on your needs. They are usually reasonably priced. Thanks for watching!
Size of ac for that trailer? Thinking about getting a 6x8 trailer.
13,500 BTU with heat strips.
@@befreebensondiy thanks.
How you gonna turn left and not smash it lol
I have a hitch extension that keeps it just far enough away! Thanks for watching!!!
