What’s up my guy just want to say thanks !!!!!!!! You saved me over 1K worth of an install on my build as well . Just finished and everything works like a charm ! Man life saver. A++++++
I’m building a Conex Cabin, So wire nuts are great for cabins or homes. They could loosen up and short on a camper build. You can join those wire with large butt crimps and heat shrink tube. I’ve had my hand in building fire trucks over the years. Lots of wire on the trucks.
Man, I know this is an older video, but you have just made my day!! I have been looking at tons of videos to show how to wire up from the input to breaker box and outlets. I haven't seen any other videos of yours but this one, and this has given me the info I need to get started on my cargo trailer build. Thank you so much for this great video@
Thank you for this video! I just successfully wired 3 outlets from this exact breaker box in an enclosed trailer successfully- thanks to your help! This was perfect.
Just wanted to say this is the best video I've seen for installing shore power, plenty of detail where I can follow along and wire my own. Thank you so much!
dude you are so freaking awesome. i love how you explained everything! im no 5 year old, but i love for someone to explain every little detail! Thank you sir!
Great refresher! I wired up the exact circuit breaker box for my cargo trailer conversion. Wanted a refresher because I am now doing a conversion of a Promaster Van.
This is perfect! I live in a trailer park that started as a vacation trailer park but now we are all permanent residents with our homes wired to the mains - but the shore power outlets for travel trailers are still here. I want to wire my shed with a 2-breaker system on a shore power inlet and this is the first video I've found that shows me not just the shore power inlet installation, but also the breaker panel and outlet wiring. Wahoo!!!
Thanks for your explanation...I had my white and black wire at the 30amp inlet wrong..I could swear my instructions indicated the white wire was installed left side of receptacle
GB !! I couldn't have done this without you !! , I followed this video exactly and I now have shore power in my 14x8 Tiny Home on wheels. I literally paused when you showed the box and breaker models , went to Amazon and ordered them .... 2 day delivery !! Thanks !!
@10:30 Outlets and switches are designed such, that the ground lug and common/neutral (white) lug is on the same side of the plug or switch. So if you have bad lighting, the black wire goes opposite the side the ground is located. I never even pay attn to the screw color. Only where the ground lug is located.
Thank you, your video is very helpful I was not sure how to setup the shore power for my Gypsy Wagon camper built. I have done a lot of electrical for home improvement but nothing like this also great advice on the stranded wire the 10/2 romax is a real pain to work with. Love your camper looks great! Plan to watch your entire build series.
I watched you every step of the way and I did my van the same way it works perfect and I know nothing about electricity I just followed your videos step-by-step thanks for your help!
Thank you for your tutorial videos. I’m in the process of converting my cargo trailer to a camper/toy hauler and you have been extremely helpful. Keep up the great work.
Awesome videos. Watched all of them and just installed a 30 amp Breaker Box. Used the 10 3 Stranded wire for main power from 30 amp outside trailer plug like yours. Then used 12 3 Stranded wire for two GFI outlets and surge protecter outlet I needed in trailer. Thanks
The BEST video we’ve ever seen for electric wiring. We’re in the process of conversion for our trailer and luckily we came across your videos. Thank you sooooo much for sharing your experience and expertise.
Great video, thanks for giving us the part numbers of the products too. Good call using stranded cable, less prone to vibration and it will carry more amps versus the same size solid wire. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much for this great tutorial video. I am building my Skoolie and nobody talked about the jumper for both breakers. Now you have completely resolved my power issue for the 30 amp service I need.
Thank you for putting up this great content. I’m rebuilding a 1981 model pop up from the frame up and your videos have been a huge help. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thank you for this video I really like the step by step it really helps. I am in the process on doing this to my cargo trailer thank you for your assistance
This was awesome. I watched the first one you did and was a little confused on the hot wire with the one hot line in and two breakers. You’re doing a great job! Thanks for putting this together!
@@FakeLegGreg The only thing I can think of that is different from mine to yours is that I did ground all of my panels and ran a ground wire to my grounding lug. Ran some 12awg green grounding wire from panel to panel.
@@mobileoffgridpatriot8191 My solar panels are bolted to the metal roof with angle brackets. So, should be grounded. Will test with meter though. I was thinking I need to ground the breaker panel?
This helped me so much, thank you for taking the time to make this video. Very detailed, but not so convoluted that I couldn't follow along. Liked/subscribed and hope to watch more videos of yours for ideas and instruction as I begin my build.
Great info and I like that you respond to every comment. I have that 30 amp box and am doing something similar. My question is why go with 2 - 20 amp breakers instead of 2 - 15 amp breakers for the 30 amp box? Is that considered overloaded? Thanks for your time.
Small point, if you had used metal boxes they should be also connected to the ground (green), and the panel should also be grounded... standard NEC. Also the wiring should be secured to the wall with straps..
Thanks for the video! Great instructions. I am converting a cargo trailer to camper also. I am wanting to put an automatic transfer switch in with a battery charger to charge my battery. Do you have a video on that? Thanks!
great video but i noticed a couple of things. Your outlets are only 15 amp so you should run 15amp brakers. The black wire in the box is right behind the bottom screw in the breaker box. If the screw is touching the hot black wire it can wear a hole in the insulation and short out.
Great video! I have a storage shed that I want to convert to a small workshop,. Looks like I could do something similar, run an RV extension and plug into my RV plug on that side of the house.
Actually a quite good video. The only thing I would do differently is when terminating stranded wires, get and use crimp on a ferrules of the proper size. Your crimp on terminals at the outlet ends are the way to go... tight and secure. Thanks
Thank you for this video. A LOT more detailed than the first one. Questions... 1. How many outlets can you run on each breaker? Where do you splice? Also, I assume if your outlets are further away, you cut a much longer set of wires!? 2. How many breakers can you have in the 30a breaker box? Thx so much B
Brian Henry you can have as many outlets as you want. The NEC doesn’t specify a limit but on a 30 amp circuit you have to make sure whatever you plug in doesn’t exceed that all together
I know this is an old video so hope your still seeing comments. You did not ground the breaker box nor did you attach a ground wire to the metal skin of the trailer. If the hot wire coming in gets damaged and contacts the skin of the trailer and then you step out of it with your hand still on the metal you could receive quite a shock when your foot touches the ground.

Yep you are right. Thanks for the suggestion.
This was the most helpful video on this panel instal. This video should be the top listed on TH-cam for the QO2L panel. Thank you so much!
Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for. I was not 100% sure what to do with the ground wires.

Very clear and understandable for newbies, like me! Getting ready to do my 7x16 v-nose.

@@FakeLegGreg did you ever figure out the ground issue?
@@mobileoffgridpatriot8191 Nope. Still thinking that out. I still don't see how it would ground with the solar. Head scratcher for sure.
