To tune a modern BMW production date post 06/2020, you need to send the DME to a company called Femto to have it unlocked. They are located in Finland.

Thanks man, if the module is hidden any ideas if dealerships computers pick up any issues on a service? it is obviously reversable with no indication it was ever done?
The idea that dealers can’t detect piggy backs is almost 10years outdated at this point. The ECUs now record the timing and boost levels they actually hit vs what they’re requesting. They also flag the second actual pressure hits more than ~105% of stock pressure. If they care to dig into it at all, they can tell. Once upon a time it was the safe route. Now you either accept its pay to play or wait out the warranty.
Looks like a great option for newer cars but that thing is 2k for my x5. It's looking more like boomod3 is it for me. I've got about 6k miles left on my warranty so after I get the stem seals replaced and the warety is out I'll finally get a tune. Still wish mhd would have something for the n63tu
Will this void the warranty? Will bmw be able to detect it, even if you convert it back to the factory? Because I would like to do this without voiding my m2 warranty.
Modern DMEs can detect long term deviations from factory settings. Will it pop a flag after a couple hundred miles? Likely not, you daily it on one of these and you’re likely gonna pop up on a dealer scan. This works just like a jb4, which has been flagged by dealers, even after removal in the past.
