I wonder the same thing about the c rating on batteries. In alott of ways we parallel each other in this hobby. I started out primarily as a drone guy.now I have several Arrma vehicles and one red cat. To me you seem to be in the hobby for the fon. Your joy is infectious. this hobby although at times expensive has been a great diversion for me from The daily grind. I thank you sir.
Wussup OG! This looks like a nice rig man and I'm trying to decide on this for a 6s Kaiju for about $40 more. On another note I saw your review of another product on Bangood and I must say it was cool because the rc community is so large online yet so small in person. It was good to see more dots connecting and familiar faces on other platforms. Respect!
Thanks bro for watching and your comments. I've had the Shredder for 9 months now, and just recently got into the r/c car/truck hobby about a year ago. (last year) For the sake of making TH-cam videos, I went through a few toy grade cars, then on to brushless, larger scale trucks (like ZD Racing, etc) from Banggood. I can honestly tell you, get the Kaiju (for sport, stunt, fast as hell action!) or the Shredder, "best bang for the buck" large scale, Monster Truck. Check my channel for my previous Shredder videos and stay tuned for more. I'm working on the Shredder as we speak, some minor upgrades!
Well, for me personally, I got into the r/c cars & trucks because of our bad weather and high winds. Check my recent videos and you'll see that I'm running my cars with AIO cameras and goggles, it feels just like flying! I still love flying, but lately, the drone market has gotten to be the same old, same old stuff!!! Check out this video - th-cam.com/video/tBmqv_Q7cq8/w-d-xo.html THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!
@@DJSOULFORCE The ESC is the only thing water resistant. It dried out in 8 hours and started working again. Going to take it apart and spray electronics with corrosion x for waterproofing.
I'm not sure if the c rating would be similar application to rc helicopter. My helicopter is rated for 50c lipo, today I used tattu 75c Lipo I got a little bit longer flight time on the 75c lipo. Both was 450mh 4s, so far I like the 75c, the difference of both compared is very little compared to the 50c
The motor in my boat gets really hot. Does Shredder have a cooling system? It's definitely a cool vehicle... Have you seen the videos where 4 wheelers run over the top of a lake to get to the other side...I think the Shredder could do it...What a video that would make..
Yes sir, I've seen those videos. That truck would be the $899 Traxxas Xmaxx that I often compare the Shredder too. (at $359...)The Shredder is a poor man's Xmaxx and doesn't have enough power to skim across water like the Xmaxx and is not completely water proof. The Xmaxx is my future dream car one of these days, it's like graduating up to a Mavic Pro or Phantom, maybe I'll get one for Christmas... or whenever they complete that bridge in your town, lol!!! Thanks for watching buddy!!! POW!!!
And oh yeah, the Shredder has a built-in fan for the ESC, but only heat sinks for the motor. On my original 50c batteries, it stays pretty cool, but with these new 80c batteries, after only a short run, the motor gets hot!
Were the batteries the same brand and all new? I'm still skeptical of the c ratings making a difference. The only way it seems to make sense is if the slower one running battery was actually a bottleneck. The motor, gearing, drag and traction are what dictate current draw. If it only ever demands the discharge current of a 30c then the 50c and 100c wouldn't be any better. Sort of like putting a 300mph speedo on a car that only does 100mph.
The batteries were different brands and the 30C batteries had at least 5 or 6 previous runs. The 80C batteries were brand new. I'm no expert, thus the reason for this experiment and what you see onscreen are my results. Read some of the comments below and get feedback from others. Thanks for watching bro!!!
I'm getting around 25 minutes or more using the 80c batteries. However, I suggest taking a break after 15 minutes to let the ESC cool down a little!!! Thanks for watching!

Might be able to use the mpo 018 spur. It’s 46 tooth. That will be the same as using a bigger pinion gear, Not exactly sure it will work but it’s the only thing available close to the size.
I'm going to try out some ZD Racing MT8 Pirates 3 tires on it tomorrow and see how that goes. The Shredder performs well, but the factory tires are crap!!! They are unbalanced and makes the car wobble. Stay tuned for the next test!!! Thanks for watching bro!!!
I don't care what everyone else says but I think the Shredder is the coolest 6th scale rc car out there especially for the price, kool video big brother, Who Dat!!!👍🏾😎👍🏾
Lol, yes it has!! The first to go was the plastic spur gear. I replaced it with a metal gear, then it started shredding up the differentials!! I might add that I had no problems with it until I upgraded the ESC to 6S - as long as you leave it stock, you'll be fine with it (except for maybe the plastic spur gear). Thanks for watching and your question.
My highest speed on my Shredder is 64mph. The stock motor will take 6s all day long. Just add a 6s esc, better wheels and your ready to go. I have a castle system in it now and so far the speed is exactly the same, have to pack the center diff with grease to gain more power to the wheels. 70+ is the goal. I’ll check back if I make it.
Thanks bro for the advice and tips! Awesome information I can use!!! I'd been planning to upgrade the ESC to 6S, just been waiting for someone else to do it first, lol. Thanks for watching!!!
SOUL FORCE QUADS I was running a 21 tooth pinion as well and I upgraded to a steel 49t spur. You can probably run a smaller pinion I’m just going full on for max speed. It’s plenty fun around 50mph.
$15 for a set of bigger pinion gears 18, 19 and 20 tooth. Ended up using 20. 2 3s batteries and a capable 6s esc. Stock motor will take 6s at that speed all day. Stock wheels will blow past 50mph unless you glue them.
I had both, shredder is much better as jumper and speed runner. Slash of course has more speed potential but I say the shredder is a better all around vehicle. Before I used it for speed I bashed the hell out of it and it held up. But I’d say $300 on top of the price of the vehicle, that’s two batteries, esc and good wheels. I have belted SRC road crusher wheels, Arrma 6s esc and lectron 5000mah 50c 3s batteries. This thing is super controllable in the air on jumps, as good as the Xmaxx as far as control goes. The chassis seems to not want to take more than that 64mph. Maybe a different body and some aero. I have the center diff locked but I did my fastest mph without doing that. I would take out the center diff and fill it with grease, front and rear seem fine. And the stock wing is for look as far as I can see, I took if off because it made the car unstable at speed. Maybe a real sturdy wing would help.
From my experience the higher the C the more punch they have just like on drones but the top speed isn't really effected. A larger mah battery though can allow more amp draw so therefore a higher top speed but to really notice anything you need to go up on voltage.
The Shredder is a good "bang for da buck" truck and spare parts are readily available. I do recommend it for it's price range!!! Thanks for watching and your feedback.
