Yo SF! Thanks for the shout out Brother. You cats out there dealing with ballooning tires, your diff fluids can help with that as well but not as good as strapping!. Bash on Bro keep doing what you do! God Bless!
I will Have to earn that title Big time. When the Cabin is done I will have a shop for all the copters and RC trucks. will give you a call later on tonite . Again Thank you for the Heavy Shout Out!! God Bless and Bash On !!
Good to see the Shredder again in action. Hard to believe it’s been nine months since you purchased her. Time fly when you are having fun, and getting older. Enjoyed the video as always Brother. 👍🏽😎
Find links for the wheelie bar and bumper in the description of the video - TboneRacing.net or search for Tbone Racing Store on eBay!! Good luck, thanks for watching.
Brother Soul... I have one on the way (shredder). I can't find the mpo-019 metal spur gear for the life of me. Everywhere is sold out...and suggestions?
Quick question, what diff oil or grease do you use?? For the shredder, and heard you mention,by changing Esc to 150A,I can run 6s with no problem and stock shredder motor will be good?
Yes, you can safely run your Shredder's stock motor on 6S by upgrading the ESC. Sorry bro, I can't remember what diff oil I used, but I do remember that stock, from the factory, there's almost no oil in there!! Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
Wish I could help but I'm still running the stock springs. I did however add more shock oil to the shocks as they had almost no fluid in there at all!!! Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
Thanks for watching and the feedback. I need to go back and do the same. I hate working on diffs, especially on the Shredder. They're so hard to get to!!!
I'm sorry, I searched and can't find my receipts for the ESC and can't remember where I got it from. More than likely I got it from Amain Hobbies in California (online). Good luck and thanks for watching!!
Awesome bro, I hope you enjoy it. To protect the front end from crash damage, I highly suggest getting that T-bone Racing front bumper. Good luck bro!!!
i grabbed a wltoys 10428 for my very first rc to see if i would like the hobby and oh yes i like it but almost immediately things were breaking in the thing and i was not even pushing it to hard so im straight up going for this shredder next after reading lots of reveiws on how decent it is for the price plus i just wanted something really big and beastly , ordered from amazon today im pretty excited. Im going to buy the 6200mah 80c Zeee lipos for it and immediately put a steel spur upgrade in it, strap those tires an call it a day.
Very nice setup on this car DJ, you are now becoming really proficient in building rc cars and trucks. I am flying a lot of my 3d helicopters again, I am also thinking about fpv planes and flying wings.
I got mines a week ago but arrived kinda defective. The front two wheels are kinda loose because it looks like the servo saver unit is loose. I tried tightening all screws on bottom, top, and inside without opening it through the side of the wheel but no luck. My servo saver unit moves left & right if I wiggle the front wheels left & right in mid air. I am thinking about dissecting it and adding washers might help. I just contacted RC planet then Redcat company until problem is solved. I hate RC vehicles not going straight but it's my favorite truck so far. Took out all stock new electronics, added 6S 6A Lipos, 6S ESC 150A Surpass, 8S Turnigy motor. It is so fast that I am scared to drive it. I need to upgrade to metal spur gear, add washers into stock differentials, fix steering, fix stiff rear shocks, add homemade front metal bumper & body cage. This chassis can hold 4 batteries or more if you stack and take out battery holders. You can add two motors to this Shredder by moving the servo a quarter inch towards the front wheels then add a 2nd motor on the other side with extra motor mount but need holes professionally drilled. Great to play with electricity, now you can connect 2nd motor to same ESC (wires backwards) or 2nd ESC to same battery or 2nd battery if racing. I would definitely have separate battery for BEC for receiver. Avoid split power by individual ESC for max motor output, individual batteries for max discharge rate. Add extra batteries in parallel to avoid puffy hot batteries. I want a buggy body for this long truck. The turns are great. I want to buy two more. One for road tires racing 8S 200A ESC and another for jumps with best shocks & stiff oil. I want to open a RC store with new upgraded RC vehicles only with a huge RC play area. I have been looking at land in Nevada. I want to connect solar panels to my truck. RC truck in trails while hiking is fun.
Wow, you have a lot of high aspirations, lol. Frankly, I don't think the Shredder will take too many power & speed upgrades. Redcat simply didn't build it to be that tough. Of course, you'll be ok as long as you never crash it! I'd love to see your Shredder after all upgrades are complete, keep me posted please. Concerning your r/c store, I say "go for it bro," I have run several small businesses in my past, the latest being my own Bar & Grill as well as a Mobile DJ company. Go for it bro!!! Thanks for watching and your awesome feedback!!!
...oh, as far as that wobble in the steering links, MINE DOES THE SAME, brand new, out the box!!! Even though it wobbles in hand, mine runs straight as an arrow. Check this out - th-cam.com/video/O-Zvn-dPRm8/w-d-xo.html
Nice video!! Just ordered one of these Shredders and I cant wait. Im curious, with that heatsink on the motor, is there a fan we can buy to put on that to keep it cool?
Thanks for watching and your question. There are after market fan kits that you can buy, but I found if you're running it on stock 4S system, overheating won't be a problem! Good luck with your Shredder, happy bashing!!
@@DJSOULFORCE Ok cool, thanks for the reply. I guess it was more of a 'what can i do to prevent' thought i had in my head lol. But yea I cant wait to run that thing around!
Hi all, just wanted to let people know that the spur and other gears are now all metal parts i just got my order today nov 2 2020. I think they used to be all plastic before so just giving a heads up. Thanks goodness because everywhere i looked well waiting for this the 49t spur was sold out.
I wish I had known that before I put everything back together, lol. After a few short runs on 6s, I can hear the diffs screaming & winning!! The problem with the Shredder is, it has 3 diffs and they are a pain in the butt to work on. I'll fix it soon and do an update video!!! Thanks for watching and your feedback!!!
Thanks Donnie. Have you seen the new Redcat Kaiju??? That thing is an animal and it's gonna put Redcat back on the map. They're hard to find right now because as soon as they're in stock, they sell out!!!
I used stock diffs from RedcatRacing.com. If you're replacing your stock diffs, you may notice the large amount of play in the factory setup. You may need to add a shim or two on top of the factory's! Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
@@twoteccs2twoteccs287 I eventually had to buy a new motor mount because I stripped out one of the screws in the original. Discovered that my hex wrenches were cheap. After I upgraded wrenches, I was then able to remove & reset motor mount with ease. Because the Shredder's motor mount uses sliders, there's no way to get it perfect, so I guess it's trial & error. I simply "eyeballed" it, lol. Good luck & thanks for watching.
