That's why a lot of us don't do cars here. We ride motorcycles a lot, to avoid the traffic. Your 35 minutes could've been 10 if you rode a motorcycle for the less than 5 miles mall ride. :D
I’m in Los Angeles, it can take 35 mins to travel 5 miles, sometimes more, during rush hour or whatever the situation. It’s not unheard of. Haha, yeah, it’s easy to get hit on over there, sure there are shy folks too but if they’re not that shy, they can be aggressive. When they want something, they go for it, haha!! every car has insurance because it's required for getting a car registration, IF, they have updated car registration. Though maybe not everyone has comprehensive car insurance. $1000/month rent in the Philippines is a lot. That's more than P50,000. That's more than 3x what a minimum wage earner gets paid here.
of course there are laws and traffic rules and regulations here but many are still violating them and sometimes, rules are ignored by people because they can.
I was the same way, my first time coming here was in May!! no one warned me about the heat...lol. it was insane, i never experienced heat like this, then i got sick from the water, my anxiety kicked in, had to be hospitalized 4 days, after being released i got vertigo...lol. not fun at all, i still find it crazy hot, but much more adjusted now. :)

We have all types of insurances here including cars, they're just optional sometimes. Filipinos are also friendly most especially with foreigners because we want our guests (local or foreign) to enjoy themselves and be comfortable in our country. I guess this is to make up for whatever shortcomings our country can't offer to our visitors

Believe me I grew up here and have never gotten used to our hot and humid weather but since I'm in the corporate world I'm always in the confines of our air conditioned office. If ever I go out that will be only for short lunch breaks by then even the heat becomes a welcome respite after spending long hours in our cold office. Filipinos who are not in the corporate world it is them who suffer the heat. That's why malls are a big thing here because it really is a big excuse to be in an air conditioned setting without having to pay. My suggestion to you is to plan your activities carefully on when you need to go out. I work in Makati but I rent near De La Salle university in Taft Avenue Manila which has a lot of cheap but well designed condominium and near Makati and Manila
i'm really happy with where we live, lots of stuff within walking distance and we feel very safe walking around our neighborhood. The fact that you move from air-conditioned really is a blessing. Seeing the workers outside with long sleeve shirts and pants and boots is so crazy to see. There's no way they aren't also dying in the heat

If you're in a big city or a densely populated place, traffic is a nightmare. Also, wealth difference is very normal in big cities where there is Business/Leisure district. Some foreigners opt to live in provinces for less to no traffic difficulties, green scenery and be away from hectic life in Metro Manila.
yeah it's probably the density of the population that makes is so shocking. It's not like Chicago or New York where you'll maybe see a few hundred people on the streets but it's literally thousands of people and children out here

I prepare in the small town or province..I'm scared driving in the Phils.. if you drive in the Phils you need to be patience.. Yes, there is car insurance there but you need to get another insurance from a different company aside from the dealership you bought your car because it is not fully covered. Still cheap even if you buy.
After a first trip to Tland many friends wanted to go also and asked what they should bring, bring a machete to hack through the humidity after leaving the plane in BKK…I stay in CM where it’s hot but not so humid, coming back to US the 80s and 90s didn’t faze me in the least…🙏🏻🇹🇭🇵🇭

We use umbrellas for both the sun and rain. You should see the traffic in India and in Saudi - Phils is actually tame in comparison. You know what they say, if you can drive in the Phils, you can drive anywhere. You just had a brush with our colonial mentality: if you are white, you must be "good".

as good as giving money to beggars.... it is actually illegal to do that here in ph.. i mean jailtime (it's in our constitution). though no one really gets jailed to that, atleast you now have the knowledge. if you're going to give, give food instead. about the insurance. it depends on what you get, the cheapest one is the insurance for the one you hit (not your car) insurance are renewed every year. that's one of the requirement for renewing your vehicle. emission test places usually offers insurance or there's one near them. some also will go the trouble to renew the car for you (so you wont have to go to the LTO) (for a fee ofcourse 😂😂) but i will suggest you do the process yourself so you will learn.. it will take a long time of sitting though... so bring a full charge phone and gaming/reading stuff.
I talk about this in another video but I don’t have insurance. Doctors visits are like $10 and prescriptions are like $15. It’s so inexpensive I don’t see the need despite us having preexisting conditions.
It's not surprising that women hit on you with your good looks. Surely, even other "supposedly men" may do that when they see you. People here know how to appreciate beauty. This is a country where pageantry is a big thing and people spend a lot on making themselves look good. If you haven't been to Baguio, you must go there and experience the colder side of the country. It's the summer capital and people flock there during the summer season.

i just give it to kids, they don't always have to be begging or selling anything. I see them doing it in front of cops all the time so if it's illegal nobody seems to care. Living in the Philippines can be tough and i'm sure the money goes a lot further for them than it does for me.

Giving out money for beggars will attract more beggars (they will tell their friends). It's better to pay for services like shoe or bag repair or a haircut and then just give a big tip. Or buy something and pay the vendor or the delivery driver something extra. This rewards the hardworking folks instead of the lazy ones.
Most filipina who lived in the provinces of the Philippines are the most shy type person. If you lived in Metro like Manila they are the most Liberated I guess 😆

If you're in a big city or a densely populated place, traffic is a nightmare. Also, wealth difference is very normal in big cities where there is Business/Leisure district. Some foreigners opt to live in provinces for less to no traffic difficulties, green scenery and be away from hectic life in Metro Manila.
yeah it's probably the density of the population that makes is so shocking. It's not like Chicago or New York where you'll maybe see a few hundred people on the streets but it's literally thousands of people and children out here
Yes even here in Malaysia it's the same the traffic is crazy... I avoid live in the city.. I prepare in the small town or province..I'm scared driving in the Phils.. if you drive in the Phils you need to be patience.. I've been in Indonesia, Bali it's the same I can't drive scary its like they are raising include the motorcycles... Looks rushing....

Yes, there is car insurance there but you need to get another insurance from a different company aside from the dealership you bought your car because it is not fully covered. Still cheap even if you buy.

After a first trip to Tland many friends wanted to go also and asked what they should bring, bring a machete to hack through the humidity after leaving the plane in BKK…I stay in CM where it’s hot but not so humid, coming back to US the 80s and 90s didn’t faze me in the least…🙏🏻🇹🇭🇵🇭

that misty heat in the philippines is nothing as compared to the watery heat here in the middle east! as in mega humid in july august and september that just standing outside for 2 minutes will drench and shower you with sweat.. so no need to complain there in the philippines..hehe

We use umbrellas for both the sun and rain. You should see the traffic in India and in Saudi - Phils is actually tame in comparison. You know what they say, if you can drive in the Phils, you can drive anywhere. You just had a brush with our colonial mentality: if you are white, you must be "good".

as good as giving money to beggars.... it is actually illegal to do that here in ph.. i mean jailtime (it's in our constitution). though no one really gets jailed to that, atleast you now have the knowledge. if you're going to give, give food instead.
about the insurance. it depends on what you get, the cheapest one is the insurance for the one you hit (not your car)
insurance are renewed every year. that's one of the requirement for renewing your vehicle. emission test places usually offers insurance or there's one near them. some also will go the trouble to renew the car for you (so you wont have to go to the LTO) (for a fee ofcourse 😂😂) but i will suggest you do the process yourself so you will learn.. it will take a long time of sitting though... so bring a full charge phone and gaming/reading stuff.

I talk about this in another video but I don’t have insurance. Doctors visits are like $10 and prescriptions are like $15. It’s so inexpensive I don’t see the need despite us having preexisting conditions.

It's not surprising that women hit on you with your good looks. Surely, even other "supposedly men" may do that when they see you. People here know how to appreciate beauty. This is a country where pageantry is a big thing and people spend a lot on making themselves look good.
If you haven't been to Baguio, you must go there and experience the colder side of the country. It's the summer capital and people flock there during the summer season.

Also Abram yes. A lot of Filipinas will think youre cute. Women here have a thing for white guys and you look good yourself. However be careful of gold diggers. Some, some Filipinas takes advantage of white guys just to get rich themselves. You should be safe since youre married but you can give this advice to your friends.
Don't give money to beggars. It's illegal. They become too dependent, and some of them are handled by syndicates.
i just give it to kids, they don't always have to be begging or selling anything. I see them doing it in front of cops all the time so if it's illegal nobody seems to care. Living in the Philippines can be tough and i'm sure the money goes a lot further for them than it does for me.
@@abramsphilippinevlog just buy them food but don't give them money. It's either their parents take it from them to buy food or their parents might spend on gambling alcohol or other vices. Or the kids might buy illegal substance with the money. Have you heard of the rugby boys?

The government have been rescuing these street dwellers, beggars and illegal squatters for many years, giving them money to start a new life in their province or even giving them free or very low cost housing. But they are still coming back to the street after a few months after selling their house provided by the government. GRABE MGA UGALI NYAN MATITIGAS ANG ULO AT MATATAPANG PA. Giving out money for beggars will attract more beggars (they will tell their friends). It's better to pay for services like shoe or bag repair or a haircut and then just give a big tip. Or buy something and pay the vendor or the delivery driver something extra. This rewards the hardworking folks instead of the lazy ones.
