I’m from Atlanta and it’s a melting pot of accents. She sounds like she’s originally from southern Georgia and has relocated to Atlanta

That accent is more of a genteel southern accent. It's the fancy southern accent. Upper class/Rich southern folks accent.
I grew up in Atlanta but have a very very mild southern accent. She sounds like she grew up outside of Atlanta. More near Tennessee area. I'm always a bit surprised when I go back east because I can hear the accent more.

I'm in Nashville. Growing up, it takes you a while to learn when someone is actually polite and when someone is "polite."
When i hear someone say, "Bless your heart," it's like they took a drink out of my hand, spit in it, and handed it back.
I've lived all over the south. Her accent is basically the default southern lady accent. They all sound just like that. At least to me. lol

You should hear the Louisiana bayou accent. They mastered the art of speaking English without actually speaking English.
There is no one Southern accent. Varies so much. My parents are from New Orleans and they say out of all the Southern accents this is the most difficult to learn or mimic.
I am a Virginia girl. I attended boarding school. We had etiquette classes..Like I was going to marry a Congressman..lol We had to eat our Snickers with a fork and knife..I was still bitchy..😊

Order, discipline, tradition, etiquette in certain situations is not "braindead" or "pointless" It's what we humans did to become more civil. Not saying we all have to abide by one person's or groups standards but if people CHOOSE to, what's the issue? Religion, governments, clubs, teams, social circles, etc. It's very human to want or feel the need to have standards, rituals, just plain politeness.

This is my totally unscientific observation, but I think we Americans find silence uncomfortable. As if we're in a room together, we should be talking. Otherwise it's rude.
I don't know about that institution, but I very much admire the old manners.
Go back and watch old videos of people that lived in the 1800's. Even lower class and average people had manners and spoke so eloquently.. I wish it was more of the norm, but today we have the opposite.
