    I agree...when buying Acura, look for the ones with SH-AWD. We put a lot of miles on my cars (around 50k per year) and prefer slightly used, reliable and dependable vehicles. We bought our first Honda product in 2006 (Used Off-Lease 2004 Honda Pilot EXL) and was hooked on Honda products. A couple of years later, I purchased an Off-Lease 2005 Acura RL...WOW...Amazing car. Since then, I've bought (all off-lease vehicles, all Advance models) 2012 Acura MDX, 2014 Acura MDX, 2 separate 2017 Acura MDX's, and just purchase a couple of months ago a 2019 Acura MDX. What amazing vehicles! I'm convinced Honda products will last forever if you maintain them.

    I got my RDX for 13k out the door it’s been super reliable and fun to drive. It’s got plenty of power and drive better than lots of new cars. There is a headlight issue where the reflectors get messed up so your low beams become super dim. New headlights are like 300 bucks so not the worst replacement cost. I would seriously recommend the car!

    Great video and complete info on what not to do and what to do. The two vehicles are great also as long as maintenance was kept up. The oil consumption is real. I own two acura TL SH AWD in the 5 speed auto and 6 speed manual. I don't believe in financing myself but to reach its own. I own my cars because I don't want to be obligated to a payment. Research is your biggest thing to do. Carfax, mechanic check and records on used car is best way to go with used cars. I am big on checking background if possible

    I see one of the complaints on the TL was excessive cabin noise at 7:49, and I can attest to that after I test drove a new 2011 TL. Acura added a lot of sound dampening material starting in 2012, so if you hate noise, get that year or newer. I bought a new 2013 TL 3.5L FWD and it is pleasantly quiet and still rattle free and reliable after 10 years. Best car I ever owned. I would not recommend the 3.7L V6 with SH-AWD however, that engine is the one that leaks oil.

    • @lornestein7248
      @lornestein7248 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      3.7l leaks oil? - Wrong! You meant "burns" oil. And even that is not true. - Some do that weren't maintained properly with regular oil changes and only using 91 octane gasoline, causing carbon build-up on the piston rings.

    Got my used 2007 Acura RL for $5300 with 124k miles. It has 172k now 3 years later and I couldn't be happier. They're difficult to find but such a great car, I've dropped $3-4k getting tires, new motor mounts, timing belt and water pump, coil packs, rotors, struts.. but all of that is basic maintenance with such a high mileage car. She's a gem and I plan on running it to 300k if I can make it.

      I agree! I bought a used 2005 RL coming off-lease in 2008 and it was an amazing vehicle. Acura didn't market this vehicle very much so it was sort of a "best kept secret". You should have no trouble getting 300k!

Other than that, it's worth getting the oil consumption fixed. It is the best handling and driving experience with the SH-AWD 6sp manual. I WILL NEVER let mine go. I totally understand going into Lease, im currently looking around, and ALL the Leases 8 have seen want between $1700--$4000 down payment. Then you pay $600 a month. My credit is temporarily challenged But putting $3K-$4K down on a lrase puzzles me.🤯🤔🤯

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea you should never put money down on a lease except for first months payment if they ask for it and if you live in a state that wants you to pay taxes up front that’s fine too but other than that, never put money down.
      If your credit is challenged then it’s not surprising that they ask for money down. Leasing is not great and can be difficult for bad credit.

    not sure how it is in the states, but in Canada right now the monthly payments for leasing a new vehicle is pretty much the same as financing…would you still consider leasing a good option?

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There’s a lot that goes into that, one of the first things to figure out is what the interest rate is on the lease. Sometimes it’s not just about the payments but depending on the vehicle there are certain incentivized lease programs, lower interest means you lease payments are going more towards principal so you should have positive equity at the end of the lease. You have a set buy out rate so you’re not on the hook for the depreciation after 3 years the dealer is. Also you may get certain rebates from the manufacturer for leasing. Lot to research and consider every car is different. Here in the states, the Integra is an amazing lease deal even compared to pre pandemic

      A car loan calculator and a compound interest calculator would tell you otherwise… if you had $10k in a savings account earning 2% interest and took out a car loan for 3% interest, you would actually come out on top parking your money earning less interest.
