I think what’s so important/impressive about this enclosure, is that it’s a desert terrain. In the hobby we see jungle/forest terrain done to a high standard with multi species fairly often, but I could watch this all day! Brilliant video Liam! Well done
I still need to go see this, I didn't realise so many different animals lived in it. Shame the plated lizard was killed 😭 but wow what a setup. Marwell have really upped their game, I remember 15-16 years ago they had 3 female leos in a 2ft, with a male in a cricket box (literally) in their education centre, they were showing how they were slowly introducing the male to the females. Nowadays their reptile exhibits are some of the best I've seen.
i love how the uromastyx knows hes the big dog and just pushes everyone out their spots. pretty awesome to watch nature doing its thing like this. thanks for this cool video!
i thought this was gonna be another dr plants clone due to the title, but it was really nice to see an extremely large enclosure. looking forward to seeing more of this
I actually went here a couple weeks ago, I couldn’t believe the Marwell team had changed a humid rainforest glasshouse to a spectacular desert ecosystem.
In burgers zoo Netherlands they tried this in a greenhouse simulating the Sonora desert. They stopped with freeroam reptiles because it got a bit too cold. I heard they are gonna heat the paths so perhaps theyll try again. But i urge you to watch it on youtube, because you can see what birds and mammals would work. Personally id pick Gambells quail, sonora pigeon and perhaps rice vinches. And for mammals id pick a robotovski hamster. And perhaps a gartner snake as a larger predator that wont be able to take on fullgrown lizards.
I think it would be fun being one of the people to engineer such a bioactive enclosure in places similar to the moon in the future. What a very neat project.
This is absolutely incredible, please tell me you have videos on the building of this enclosure, cause this might be the best multi species set up I've ever seen
This is awesome! Any chance you ever going to introduce Chuckwalla into the environment? I feel like they are so cool but not very known or popular. Would be perfect for an environment like this.
Would be cool to focus on more life than just the lizards, but them again this channel is about reptiles so ignore me. I just feel like an ecosystem needs more than 1 class of animal
You can find the full half an hour of footage of these animals here: www.patreon.com/posts/desert-ecosystem-104954157?Link&
Great video! Beautiful habitat 🦎
Nothing better than a large dynamic multi species exhibit with thriving animals! Love it
The absolute best

I think the hobby sleeps on deserts, I find them so fascinating! And thank you ☺️
Its an enclosure in marwell zoo
I've seen lots of these ecosystem simulations, but none of them were at this scale with this many different interesting creatures!
It’s the biggest I’ve ever come across for sure

Marwell has fantastic reptile setups lately
u f***ing spoiled it
"It may look like this lizard is doing push-ups but actually it is just displaying its strength" ...
Yeah, that's exactly what a push-up is?
I loved the different species' interactions with eachother
Was the best part for hours
Absolutely! I could watch them all day! Fascinating!
i love how the uromastyx knows hes the big dog and just pushes everyone out their spots. pretty awesome to watch nature doing its thing like this. thanks for this cool video!
just the fact that many lizards do push ups to establish dominance is so damn amazing and adorable
this is amazing
It really is jaw dropping

There’s more species to be added yet 😉
@@ReptilesandResearch Dare I say it needs a certain varanid with a spiny tail and a load of personality
man im so jealous. you really build an paradise for them and to enjoy it with them. hope you have an amazing time with it.
He didn't make it
I've been their
@@servalboy8412 i dont really care if he build it himself. He still got them an awesome enclosure.
This is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen! Love it!!!
Ikr I’m in love with
This desert biome has charm, nice to see all the different animals interact
Marwell have really outdone themselves with this enclosure
There is nothing better than making coffee and the morning and watching the animals. This takes it to a whole new level, I'd never be able to leave.
i would love to see more zoomed out shots - showing where they are currently, where there territory is and where the diff ecosystems are
This is awesome. We need a full series.
As a desert native I love seeing content like this, keep it up!

I think it would be fun being one of the people to engineer such a bioactive enclosure in places similar to the moon in the future. What a very neat project.
Hands down the best enclosure I,ve seen that's how to keep lizards if you have too keep them at all.
first video ive watched of you, and i LOVE it.
This is the first one I’ve seen with a mammal in it! Keep it up
I think this is the only one of these video styles that could actually function as an ecosystem
This deserves a billion views
This is so amazing
Incredible. Where is this located?
Marwell
was this at Marwell Zoo?
this is litterally my dreaam
Now THIS is what I want when I search for simulated ecosystems
this is insane! so awesome!

Isnt this just the desert house at the marwell zoo?
What do you do with the animals when your done
just learned about rock hyrax
I mean, at this point you could make a whole non profit zoo with this and your other creations lol
How did you afford this setup?
Wait.. Is this your enclosure?? Like did you make this?🤯🤯

can you list the name of the plant species? Are you use soil below the sand? false bottom? geotestile? sorry for asking, just curious 😅🙏
