Hi there. If i had a Exo Terra Intense Basking Bulb (75w) on a dimming thermostat and say i work nights before leaving the house how could i turn off the Intense Bulb till morning? Thank you.
Hi, this isn’t related to the video but I really need some advice and you seem really knowledgeable (I loved your video explaining Viv temperatures and the effects of UVB properly); I have have a corn snake who’s around 14yrs old. Iv seen your videos on UVB and corn snakes, but she is Amelanistic morph with reddish eyes which I think means she is or is partly albino? Iv read in forums to give her weaker UVB because of this, but I can’t find what the right strength would be - especially for the specific new Vivarium size I’m getting for her which will be 5x2x2ft Is there a specific UVB bulb, strength and size you would recommend getting to put at the hot spot basking end with the daytime heat bulb? I would really appreciate any answer or information - many thanks!
what are your thoughts on the mercury vapor bulbs that have heat and UVB? i've heard mixed things. from what i can tell, one downside is that they do not span the length of the enclosure. i do use them in a few enclosures and haven't really noticed any behavioral differences from the beardies that are under the MV bulbs, or the ones under the arcadia bulbs. (no, i do not have a PAR meter. they are not cheap lol)
The bandwith of uv is very narrow so you end up with an crazy high uvi on one spot but doesnt sopread across the body nicely. The quality is also VERY variable as they are all hand made, you can have one with barely any output or one give off unearthly levels. Or one that degrades very quickly compared to others.
@@ReptilesandResearch that does fall in line with what i have heard elsewhere. in the process of fixing this for the few enclosures that still use them!

Is a 78 gallons tank okay for my lizard because I don’t have a big budget

Could you cut some of the screen out so it doesn’t block the uv!
you could or mount it underneath the mesh

There is no such thing as an enclosure being too big. Ever.
the only barrier is cost
@@ReptilesandResearchAnd space.
Idk man, too big of a house and I can't keep up with cleaning.
