one way to watch CCN with one command is use routines, just setup a routine that when you say "Alexa watch CNN" it will open your stream player and then start CNN, a hassle yes but can be done, also unless you want to totally shutoff your echo or just shut off the screen, you can just say "Alexa Screen off" to shutoff the screen.
My biggest gripe is that when I pause a video that I am watching in TH-cam, the Echo Show will return to the Home Screen after roughly 8 minutes after the video has been paused. It's some sort of timeout that I can't find any way to disable This is a real PITA because I then have to relaunch TH-cam, find the video again and scrub to the spot where I need to be to resume watching. Have you experienced this or have a solution?
You forgot the most annoying problem of all time. When you are browsing, after 4-5 minutes, it will go back to the homescreen. You can't stop it from doing that. No matter what you do, touch the screen, change the settings, it will just always go back >:(. I wish Amazon fixes this problem first instead of doing other rubbish improvements

The latest update broke the echo show It also stopped working with the blink Camara. I spoke to them on the phone and a fix is on the way ( or so they say )

At 1:17, I had a feeling you could stack commands: for example, "Alexa, open Stream Player, and watch CNN". I decided to test this theory, starting the way you did. I opened Stream Player, and got no further... as far as I can see, not one of the listed providers will run unless you have (presumably) a subscription! I'll experiment further, later on, and update this if I find anything useful. EDIT 03 Jan 2023: I just waded through all 61 streaming channels. All but a handful gave me a "Sorry - something went wrong" response. With the ones that did work, I was able to use 'Stacked' commands, such as "Alexa, open Stream Player and watch Red Bull TV".

I agree with you on all of your points. I picked up the 10 it’s nice but why even have a browser if it refuses to stay open with no way to return to where you were that is a complete failure that is not communicated in their advertising and most reviews I have read online it really makes you wonder.

Hi It happens me the same with the All New Echo 4th generation, I just bought the Echo 4, the biggest one not the Echo Dot, it works perfectly fine and Alexa works very well, but sometimes it understands the wrong command and makes thinks that I didn’t want Alexa to do. I know it’s frustrating, but anyways I’m really happy with my All New Echo, is much better than the Echo Dot, the sound is fantastic, Alexa answers faster and more stable, but I’m a little bit unhappy with the light ring below in stead of on the top part. Anyways, I definitely recommend the Echo 4th gen if you want a high sound quality in an Alexa speaker but you don’t have enough money to buy the Echo Studio, or even the All new Echo Show 10 that are the most expensive Amazon Echo devices
I was so excited to get the show but I find it so frustrating I rarely even use it other than setting a timer here and there. I saw in your other video about free movies so I asked it to play one, of course it brought prime up and started playing a random movie, which was fine until my timer went off and I canceled that and the movie was gone. I asked it to continue the movie.. what did it do? Bring up a totally new movie. A few curse words later and still, no idea what movie I was watching to start with but guess I’ll never know as this device is incapable of going back to something you were doing. Even recipes, if I pause them I can never get back to it 5 minutes later. Also, how hard would it be for them to show new albums or popular music on Amazon music? Instead all you get is things you’ve recently listened to. Totally disappointed with this buy.

You can also just simply say Echo screen off or Alexa screen off, whatever your trigger command word is. It will go into a screen off State or sleep mode if you just tell it to turn the screen off. Nine times out of 10 the thing you want to do, just simply try saying it. The worst thing that happens is it doesn't do it. A lot of times whatever intuitive command someone might say, it actually works. So if you want the screen to turn off simply say, screen off.
Yeah but that's not the problem. The problem is it keeps turning on randomly. There's no rationale for it when it turns back on. I even try putting electrical tape over the sensor. It'll randomly come back on anyway at various times of the day or even at night time
These are really easy fixes and I wish they would fix it. Alexa is so dumb!!! I mean come on, I wish she didn't repeat herself, Her voice is annoying, and it is a very dumb software system. Can easily be fixed to better standards in this time we are in.

If you’ve fallen back to the Home Screen or sleep mode try saying Alexa, Resume. It works on audio and some video.

I have 70+ books in Audible. When I ask Echo show to play a book or tell Echo to open Audible, it says "you don't have any books in your library".
