- In this video I show you a number of features, tips and tricks that you can use with the Echo Show.
Did you know that you can snooze your Amazon Echo Show 5 by tapping it on the top?

Changing the wake word is going to be key for me. I've had my Show 5 for half a year now and haven't used it after set up because my other echo devices would hear my request. I'm looking forward to using this while cooking! It'll be so much easier than washing my hands dozens of times to check my phone for the recipe! Thanks so much!

I can't believe that for as long as I've had the Echo Show 5, I've not done more than set the basic alarm and ask for the current weather. I was considering the Echo Dot for my wife's nightstand but after watching this, I'm getting her one. Thanks for the demonstration.

Hi, very helpful video, thank you :) I just got my Echo Show 5, even got the new update, so the drop-down menu looks different. But what I cannot find is how to get rid of the constant fadeout of the screen. I would like to have just one photo, however, it fades like it is in a photo compilation. And, for my big surprise, it is happening even with the factory installed clocks. Do you know how to fix this, please? Thank you and best of luck :)

Has anyone had issues with the menu you access from the left hand side? I don't have the music icon etc only the discover alexa section!
Thinking of Replacing a Levono smart clock with one of these because I can’t stand saying ‘hey google’ anymore. I use it as a clock though and I’m seeing conflicting comments about if you can just display the clock face 100% of the time. Some saying they’re still interrupted even though everything is turned off. Any one had any experience with this?

Nice video 👍 question, can you have the display show a clock all the time? No adverts etc, just a clock. Was thinking about an echo dot with clock display, BUT as this can connect and show me connected cameras, I would much prefer this device.

I am new to this world. While attaching a battery base E07, I accidently got a movie and wanted it to stop! I tried all commands I could think of and the best I got was a temporary pause. I texted my sister and she basically said to reboot the unit (1 of 2 ways). That worked. What COMMAND can I give to stop the play totally?! I spoke simple and then complex commands w/o success.
How to set clock to connect time zone?
I have 2 questions about it that maybe you'll know. Question 1, does TH-cam still work because multiple sources say it does, and others say it doesn't? I'm writing this on Dec 2, 2021. And question 2, can you cast from your phone to the device? Thank you for your time and the video. This device has so many neat features. I am torn between it and the Google Nest Hub which I've heard it's ability to recognize commands isn't as good, and I've seen that first hand as my friend often has some rude words for her Google Nest Mini, which honestly I think is hilarious but I may not feel that when it's me having similar issues.
Hi Katherine, TH-cam definitely still works. You can cast from your phone but only with certain apps. If you let me know what app you use I will check if it works. The best hub is good but I find I use the echo show more.
@@DanielWestow woot! Thank you that's great news. That's the only thing I wanted to cast if youtube via voice command in browser didn't work. I like that this has the camera built in to video chat with friends and fam which the nest hub, unless you get the big one doesn't. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it. Now I know which one is going back. They were on sale for 1 hour more for $45 cdn (show), and $70 cdn (hub). So I grabbed both just in case until I learned more and now I know the Hub is going back. Thank you

The “internet” appears to show you can add subtitles (or “closed captioning”) to conversations when calling someone else on the Echo Show in “video-phone” mode, but I cannot see how to do this on my UK Echo Show. I bought one for my mother who is hard of hearing with the expectation that it could do this as I’ve seen video evidence ( US video anyway)… Any ideas?
Hi, there a a few features that are not enabled outside of the US. I will see if it does work in the UK and get back to you.

No the 8 sounds much better.
How do I get the TIME display to be so large?
Go to settings, then home and clock, and it should be there

You can set it up directly from the Echo show.

@@DanielWestow I set my command word to Computer. Reminds me of Star Trek n my dad. He told me back in the 70’s that people would be walking around and talking on their phones without cords! We thought he was watching too much Star Trek. We thought we were rich when we got a phone in the kitchen. Lol. Ya know Bean me up Scotty.

I have mine set to respond to the name "Alexa". "Alexa, please don't show me anything I havent asked for." "Alexa, please don't keep trying to sell me things." "Alexa, I turned off all the tips and notifications, but you still want me to buy things or tell me how to name my pets." "Aexa, turn off display." Me: "Hey, me!" "Unplug my echo."

This device is without a doubt the most frustrating thing I've ever owned it is so fucking frustrating how it just constantly has its own Random ass responses like if you ask it to open HBO Max it asks me what skill I want to learn is fucking annoying I find the best way for it to work is to have it take me to the Google homepage 1st because it seems to understand to take me to Google Without too many times repeating or clarifying or having to refrain from smashing the thing, Which by the way I think is something they programmed into it because there have been a couple of times that I've gotten frustrated and told it and that if it makes another reply I will smash it and it stops where normally would have just kept replying because I had repeated the same thing and it had repeated the same thing the only thing I had changed was telling it that I would smash it and it then stopped, The only thing I really like about it is that I can name it computer which I enjoy I wish I could do that with only $10 I understand why it was only $10 now because they are garbage but at the same time why would you buy one of these devices with no screen why would you buy just the sound Box for the price they charge I mean it should have video it's stupid that they mostly don't
