"There is no ending" The villain won. That IS the ending.
yes I just wanted more, so in the end yes there was an ending, but I feel like Avengers Endgame is part two of this movie, that's more what I meant, but agreed if we look at it from this angle, yes ending= Thanos won :) thank you so much for watching!
@@CarolineBrowne Fun Dark Fact of one of the comic universes of this event, Thanos just wins and really does enjoy his time at the garden. People want to confront him but left because they're not strong enough to fight him.
One of the greatest superhero movies of all time and one of my best experiences in a theater, 10/10. Nothing beats the action, characters/character moments, the villain, and totally epic feel of this movie (except the first Avengers, that one is just as good imo). But man, this movie was one of the biggest and best ever when it came out. It’s like the empire strikes back of this generation.
Throwing my vote in with everyone else who said not to skip Ant Man 2 and Captain Marvel. Both of those movies are important for understanding what happens in Endgame. Endgame has so many moving parts WITHOUT not knowing what the hell is going on with a couple of major plot points, you'd be doing yourself a disservice trying to watch it without watching those movies first. Plus, we all had to wait A WHOLE YEAR. :P

The Soul Stone guardian was Red Skull from the first Captain America. Remember he grabbed the tesseract and a portal to space opened and it looked like he was vaporized
Like Gamora says, it’s not love, but Thanos is delusional enough to believe it is. Even if you do call it love you can’t deny it’s a twisted abusive version of it.
Wait, did you not get that Thanos was using the Reality Stone to turn things into bubbles?
Important note: Stormbreaker doesn’t have the worthiness enchantment like mjolnir. So anyone can lift it

It always feels unfair knowing that Infinity War and Endgame used be called Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2
The movie did give us closure. For Thanos. He completed his journey and accomplished his goal.
When looking at it from Thanos' view, I totally understand closure was met. BUT from the viewers view or more specifically my view lol is I wanted more!!! I can't believe people had to wait a whole YEAR to get answers heheh

Crazy to think people waiting a whole year 😅 I just finished watching all the movies in November. Glad I was able to watch it right away. Now that’s going to be me with Kang 😩
I remember watching MCU fans arrive into theaters like they were going to a rave then leave theaters like we had attended a funeral.😂 Genuine tears were shed in this movie.
LOL! If I was there, 1000% would have been in tears, knowing its going to be a wait for the next movie, so I am happy I don't have to wait!!!
The Children of Thanos are other adopted kids that Thanos picked up on his quest to bring balance to the Universe. Gamora and Nebula are two of them, the other four are known as the Black Order:
Ebony Maw, the telekinetic
Corvus Glaive, the skinny elf looking dude with the, well, glaive
Proxima Midnight, the freaky spear chick
and Cull Obsidian, the big claw-hammer guy
As to how Thanos had the Power stone at the beginning: he attacked the NovaCorp on Xandar and took it from them with the aid of his fleet/armies.

also something to notice, thanos has adopted 3 boys and 3 girls to keep things balanced
Fun fact the hair standing up on Tom Hollands arm when the spaceship shows up wasn't a special effect, they had someone blow in his ear to cause the reaction.

I like how you've kept track of who has what stones at the end of their respective movies: The Collector, the Nova Corps... in my head my response was, "Yeah not for long."

You can't skip ant-man and the wasp or captain marvel unless you want to miss big parts of the story for endgame.
Captain marvel isn’t necessary though, that could always be watched after endgame.
Captain marvel movie was written out of the canon of the mcu.

The ending of the movie DOES give closure. To Thanos.

It was a very satisfying end if you consider that Thanos is the protagonist of this movie. Slso imagine how all of us who saw it when it came out and then had to wait a year for End Game felt. That was rough.

I think because I was instantly intrigued by Loki, I always paid more attention to him, so I've pretty much always been able to tell when he won't actually go that far, or when he is planning something to help Thor, etc. Because when I watch many other people watch something with Loki, I'm always surprised they don't know he will change his mind or get what he is doing, but I guess if you're not apt to pay close attention to him, that's understandable. And I've always been good at getting in the heads of the anti-heroes.
Honestly I find Loki to be an interesting character, its a if he has constant conflicting feelings, so its hard if you don't pay attention to know is he or is he not going to help Thor. But I totally get it from your perspective if you know a character through and through you can anticipate their actions or inactions lol. thank you for watching!
I don’t believe endings have to bring closure.
Somethings just end, no closure at all.
So for me, this is a realistic ending, the bad guys win, the good guys loose, and nothing is accomplished, that’s real life..

Imagine waiting a year to find out what happens next. No one could believe that Thanos won - and that The Avengers had not only lost, but lost on such a massive scale. That said, 2 movies did launch in between those releases - Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel. Both help fill in some details and while not essential, are good in their own right and worth watching.

See this movie isn't an avengers movie it's a Thanos movie, he's the protagonist and he gets his wish at the end
Drax and Mantis turning into ribbons and cubes is a nod to the comics.

Caroline, in the comic books, Thanos didn't care about world hunger, he wanted to kill as many people as he could . he was obsessed with this woman named Death, who was the Goddess of Death in marvel comics and he thought killing a bunch of people would impress her. so i thought that he didn't start collecting the stones until after Thor 3 . why? i think he was waiting for his girlfriend to get out of jail, Hela, who was the Goddess of Death in the mcu. that would make sense, and Odin had the Tesseract in his vault. which no one could get to because of the Destroyer robot we saw in Thor 1. and in the Silver Surfer cartoon from the 90s, Thanos had a spaceship like in the very end of Guardians 2, that small quadrant of the Ravagers ship that Kraglin seperated from the main ship after Taserface's mutiny.
caroline james gunn who directed the guardians of the galaxy movies said that when groot was turning to dust and he said "i am groot" to rocket he was really saying "dad help me "

Highly unlikely. She watches the movies - and doesn't understand them.
I saw this opening night at a drive in and i apparently was the only one in the audience thst read the comic book this was based off off cause i was the only one not yelling and cussing, I was so amazing happy cause I knew the source material

@@CarolineBrowne your very welcome I live in tennessee and Sparta has one of only 2 drive ins in the state, this movies source material is 2 comics, the series infinity gauntlet is the main back ground story but thanos motivation is nothing like this, thanos is in love with the physical body of death and in the comics death takes the form of a woman thanos is always trying to impress death by killing on a mass level, death is never impressed and strange fact her boy friend is deadpool but that's a different story, the other source matwrial is marvel the end, that's where the snap come is very different from the comic but almost the entire Marvel universe is deleted by a thought by thanos, that's why i was so excited when it happend cause I knew what the next movie had in store if they followed the plot, slight spoiler they do not follow the plot of the comic, i don't give real spoilers, but opening night before the world knew the end everyone was in rage and im laughing, I know too much to be satisfied with future movies
Seeing Tony and Dr. Strange together was awesome.
(At 26:52) it's technically a Splitting Maul, but close enough.
The guardian of the Soul Stone was Red Skull from Captain America: The First Avenger.
P.S. Watch every MCU movie and Disney+ show in Release order! SKIP NONE OF THEM.

This was one of the great comic book movies of all time, precisely because of how it ended (and because it got EVERYTHING else right from the action to the drama to the production design, etc.). I remember feeling absolutely gutted leaving the theater... just walking out to the car, shocked and heartbroken that they'd end it this way by killing off half our heroes and dropping the mic. This movie gets better with time, the more you think about it and the more context you have for it (from watching later films).
Anyway, enjoy the next few. It's a fun ride ahead!

If a robot had all the qualities necessary, I don’t see why I couldn’t fall in love with one. What makes a person a person is 1) being able to understand the concept of human rights and 2) being able to express a desire for them.
Edit: Hey, remember that time Tony told Peter “If you die, I feel like that’s on me. I don’t need that on my conscience.” And Peter apologized, and Tony said “‘Sorry’ doesn’t cut it.”
Very true about the robot, it could happen lol, and ya I remember that scene, was a stab to the heart watching Peter disappear!!
I was able to hold it together until Spiderman said I don't want to go.
I wish Vision could give my PC and tablet a deep diagnostics and patch upgrade and recommend the right affordable PC and tablet protection program. 😂

Thanos had the reality stone. That's why Starlord's gun turn into a bubble gun and that's why Gamora's knife turned to bubbles. He can reshape reality to what he wants.
Yeah - like other said. Don't skip out on Ant Man & The Wasp or Captain Marvel. They're parts of the series... just think about all we went through waiting for the story to conclude, honor our sacrifice! lol

Thanos is just one of those kids who like the geode/mineral sections of natural history museums.
I actually put this off from watching last night because even though I was tired and stayed up for a while after work, I just wasn't emotionally up for it.

This reaction is showing me how much Caroline hasn't been paying attention. "Where's Gamora?" when she died on screen. "What, he (Dr Strange) had it (the Time Stone) the whole time? Or it's a part of him?" when it's been a major plot point that the sorcerer supreme can alter time because he keeps the time stone in the Eye of Agamotto.
remember.. it's not just half the world is gone.. It's half the entire universe.

On a technical level, the film DOES offer a proper sense of closure: just from Thanos’ point of view. If he’s the protagonist, then the film definitely has a proper ending with a sense of finality lol. Not for the heroes though 😂
It really does a great job of making the viewer understand with his perspective, almost to the point where one could empathize with him. Almost...
Easily one of the best written antagonists in action movie history.

This was definitely an ending, but you have to skew your thinking a bit before you realize that. The Avengers were not the protagonists of the movie, Thanos was. This was HIS movie, not theirs. Once you see it from that point of view it becomes a bit clearer as to why they ended it like they did. Nice reactions and good video! Keep it up and don't skip what movies come next in the order. You miss even more like that.

Seriously though, of the intervening movies, Ant-Man 2 is kind of a need to watch because it contains info that ends up being very impactful, and that's as vague as I can say it. I won't spoil Captain Marvel in case you decide to -waste- spend time watching it, but the character can be summed up in one or two brief sentences and that is all you need to know to go straight from Ant-Man 2 to Endgame.
Sad that after Endgame the Marvel Universe is completely done, but it was a great run of many generally good to stellar movies over a dozen years or so. We'll never see its like again.

It should have ended with this movie and not the depressing second part. This movie was perfect in every way shame the dumped on it with the next.
Where’s the end game?
WATCH ANT Man and CAPTAIN MARVEL. in the comics, thanos was literally courting the goddess of death (not hela, a different goddess of death). thats why at end of avengers, when told to attack earth is to "court death" he smiled. thanos name is from the greek thanatos. the creator of thanos is Jim Starlin, who loves themes of eternity, death, the universe, etc. all that cosmic stuff. we can thank starlin as much as stan lee and jack kirby for the MCU. oh, and remember, we had to wait a YeAR. and marvel CONFIRMED THEY WERE DEAD. so we had to mourn with only faith to carry us on. youre lucky. to comi c book fans, that symbol on the pager means something. you wont recognize it. and since everything depends on everything else, you have to watch every movie (and later, tv show) in release order. please do that.
YES 100% agreed will be watching both Ant Man and Captain Marvel. So glad I DONT have to wait a year to see Endgame :)

I know you said how can that be the ending of this movie when it didn't give us closure because half of all life is snapped away...but if you look at this as a Thanos movie and him as the protagonist and not an Avengers movie then you absolutely get closure which l think was the point. Thanos has the most screen time, he completed his goal which was to collect all the Infinity Stones and kill half of all life all while fighting off those annoying little Avengers 😂 and at the end he's smiling while watching the sunset on a grateful universe just like he said.

We watch you react to our favorite movies. We like to see and hear our favorite parts that make the cut for show. However, it is very hard to watch. When your reactions are 2 to 5 times LOUDER than the parts that you overlay.
We can't hear our favorite parts we want to see. and you react to.
Hope, maybe you can do something about this. Maybe watch and listen to your videos. From a different source to see if you understand what I mean. Try to listen to the movie part.

You have to suspend disbelief for a little while in these movies. You find a man frozen in ice, a Norse god, space aliens, wizards, and the Quantum realm perfectly acceptable, but you draw the line at someone surviving a stab to the gut? You must be fun at parties.
nah buddy. getting stabbed is never fatal in the mcu. t'challa got stabbed in the first black panther film and shuri in the latest one. even tobey's peter parker got stabbed in the last spiderman movie. tis but a scratch.

So the changes the reality stone makes are real... it changes reality. Gamora really did kill Thanos, he just has the ability to change reality. It wasn't an illusion though.
