It’s not too late TBH; every once in a while Ill be up at like 2am and remember these people exist and watch a bunch of their videos until i eventually get sick of it a few hours later. Rinse and repeat every 6ish months. You just have to make sure they don’t get into your algorithm if you watch a single one of these videos and forget to clear your watch history your cooked forever and need to just restart the whole thing.

Honestly, even if I agree with a topic they cover, I would never watch a video by a Breadtuber or any overtly left wing youtuber as I know that they are heavily biased on their topics they cover. I discovered Breadtube during 2020. Immediately realised there was something weird about them. Like they haven't touched grass even before the lockdown. Baggy eyes, unhinged takes, addicted to drama and the purple lighting. You don't see normal people with normal lives act like this.

The first one I ever saw was Big Joel and thought his first video was okay (he hadn't gone full breadtube yet). He lost me when he reviewed a Twilight Zone episode and said it was bad because there wasn't a political message involved lol
I have always had a pretty deep disdain for breadtubers as a leftist myself. Majority are these weird men (some women) who genuinely have no idea about what they discuss. They are incapable of having original thoughts and ideas and ride off the backs of activists and well educated/experienced people who have done the work to even give these people their talking points. I've always hated this holier than thou thing breadtubers have going on and i feel the same way about most modern leftists. I appreciate the way you discussed this. I used to have this exact same view a decade + ago. It is true in a way. But what is also true is that I have watched their very same radical ideological views spread from their rich kid university circles to our industries in tech, media, news, then make the jump into 1 of our largest political parties. Now it is residing in our public schools, fed, state & local govt agencies & even our military. I used to always say it could never take our military. Speaking of Courage the Cowardly Dog, I watched IPOS' Courage video after the Wendigoon one. It was almost as bad as the Wendigoon one. He makes the claim that Freaky Fred shoves a phallic looking pancake into Courage's mouth, when it did not look like that. There's another where a character who speaks in bad English with a thick accent, and IPOS thinks he says ass. This character actually says "You no good as dog" which IPOS should have figured; because every time that character pops up, he complains about it being racist. He also claims that same character was created to essentially bully a Korean animator with no source. All around very odd, the Hills Have Eyes video seems better constructed in comparison.

Trans people and minorities should be treated, judged and interacted with using the same standards as everyone else, they are capable of taking care of themselves and standing up for themselves. And freedom of expression in art & entertainement really needs to be protected from both left and right puritanism.

Honestly, even if I agree with a topic they cover, I would never watch a video by a Breadtuber or any overtly left wing youtuber as I know that they are heavily biased on their topics they cover. Same thing for anyone who's overtly right wing as well. I know everyone has biases, but the way that these people present their points comes across as smug and talking down on people

Speaking of Courage the Cowardly Dog, I watched IPOS' Courage video after the Wendigoon one. It was almost as bad as the Wendigoon one. He makes the claim that Freaky Fred shoves a phallic looking pancake into Courage's mouth, when it did not look like that.
There's another where a character who speaks in bad English with a thick accent, and IPOS thinks he says ass. This character actually says "You no good as dog" which IPOS should have figured; because every time that character pops up, he complains about it being racist. He also claims that same character was created to essentially bully a Korean animator with no source. All around very odd, the Hills Have Eyes video seems better constructed in comparison.

Both sides can reach some worryingly extreme levels of fanatism, and while it's usually a loud minority of immature moral absolutists and puritans with a severe life experience deficit, it still ends up reinforcing stigma against those communities, especially when otherwise reasonable people take their side due to strong biases, or people in positions of power being so out of touch they mistake the voices of a few for the voice of everyone, then try to have them submit to the former, morally, socially or legally.
I really can't stand the infantilization of "minorities" and the excessive desire to sterilize every discussion and entertainement communites according to absurd and often arbitrary standards (also meaning that if they have the most venomous vitriol to spit at you, it's fine as long as it's done "the correct, passive aggressive, totally ironic and just ambiguous enough to appeal to good intent if needed" kind of way, towards the "appropriate" people). Trans people and minorities should be treated, judged and interacted with using the same standards as everyone else, they are capable of taking care of themselves and standing up for themselves. And freedom of expression in art & entertainement really needs to be protected from both left and right puritanism.
I'm a black woman who has been to multiple totally rural all white places. I get nothing but love and acceptance because I'm not disrespectful by assuming they're all idiots and racists. They're actually probably my favorite group of people through the country.

I remember back in the day I made a parody anti-feminist skeptic video that was clearly just me yelling about Anita Sarkeesian putting on a really bad Australian accent for April Fools. Most folks obviously knew it was a joke, but it went around a bit on the breadtube subreddits and whatnot and the folks there would actively say that the video is not a parody, and I do videos like that all the time. Obviously, I wasn't going to jump into the discussion and kill the joke by adamantly stating it was supposed to be a parody but it was still really goofy that they would just make up lies about my content so they could get mad at my clearly satirical April fool's joke video

Breadtube is a case study on the Dunning-Kreuger Effect.
My favorite examples are Destiny trying to explain how precedents and court proceedings worked to an attorney who had practiced for 20 years, and Kyle Kulinski trying to explain how a study that showed the majority of respondents didn’t want M4A, actually proved that they did want it.
These are genuinely some of the worst people I've seen on the internet. This wouldn't be that crazy but it's the fact that they actually don't think that they're terrible people that bothers me.

Oh I feel the same about the fnaf community during 2022 to 2023 (idk if things have changed I kind of left last year). So many of the modern fnaftubers are so focused on the horror being politically correct to the point they get offended if you put any gore or serious subjects in the game while they also complain that scott doesn't do the same thing. Its so hypocritical and stupid. It made me stop interacting with the community. Was so sick of everything being so drama focused along with the hypocritical ideology to add on.

I am left-leaning. I have a lot of left-leaning family members and friends. We range from anarchists to communists to democratic socialists. One of the things we have in common, is that we hate breadtubers.

One thing I find ironic is how a lot of these Breadtubers are trying to sport a Stalin style mustache. The reason I say this is because a lot of the dictators that history remembers very well (Sorry Mussolini), tend to have mustaches or some kind of facial hair style.
