Most of the "irony" they do is how they actually act but they want to mask it as being a joke to get away with being an idiot. Post ironic zoomers are the most annoying creatures on the internet right now and deserve mockery. They act so smug and morally grander than everyone. They act like they are so smart because they can use words like "unironically" "literally" any useless word filler to make their sentences appear intelligent when they follow whatever the algorithm online tells them to think based on nothing but emotion. They can't even defend their stances half the time. Most of the time they say "bro be (insert emoji here)" in response to any argument because they can't actually defend the things they stand for. They also talk in an annoying politically correct version of ebonics as well. they also have safe edgy memes. They talk about how unfunny and bad racism or sexism is. while they make memes talking about how much they dislike men and whites. Its the same with safe horny aswell. They always have to act like they are so morally better than everyone and its annoying. when they are no better than the things they criticize. Its always the same tale with these people "oh I grown and matured from 2016 and I was saved by the alt right rabbit hole" while they do the same things they used to do. just with a different ideological coat of paint, all because the algorithm changed and told them to feel that way. It's newspeak for the word equivocation. Since it uses the words of "ironic humor" as a misdirection or shield to soften the recipients skepticism. So that it is seen as a character trait and not a character flaw like someone who is described as a person who likes to obscure with equivocation.

Yeah Marx's quote really didn't consider how influential Napoleon III was on internal economic policy. Had the 2nd Republic remained in power France would've had a far rougher industrialization.
he was ok. his entire career he was kind of cosplaying as his uncle who was an entirely different kind of leader than he was and he only really hit his stride when he switched to manipulating popular politics to formally become instated as Napoleon III. it's not an entirely unfair comparison because he was never very good at military matters but he had to adopt that part of his uncle's legacy as part of his public persona. he did fight the crimeans and the austrians but in those wars the french had constant problems(including the fact that he didn't provision the army with enough artillery which meant they had to take them off of the ships to use in ground battles at various points). he made a number of mistakes in the war with prussia but prussia also had overwhelmingly better artillery technology so i'm not sure he could have done anything but lose better in that situation.

the millenial's entire aesthetic can be summed up as "safe chaos". they're probably the most domesticated generation of them all, lacking the out of touch and proud aura of the boomers, and the dissident counter culture of the zoomers. to compensate for this, they created ironic dirtbag culture, a way of acting too cool for the current zeitgeist while ironically being an offshoot of the current zeitgeist. this grungy, no-fucks-given aesthetic gives off the vibe that it *should* be offensive, yet doesn't actually offend anyone. it's basically a way that someone too scared to actually go against the grain can feel like they are without actually risking social consequences.
Unfortunately I have seen a lot of former edgy zoomers also adopt something similar to this since 2018, "I've grown and matured from 2016" But really they just followed what the algorithm brainwashed them into the opposite extreme, because they lack any form of real thought. They still have the desire to be edgy and offensive. but they can only do it to "acceptable targets" as the ideology they follow makes it so they aren't allowed to make fun of alot of things so they use safe edgy as a way to cope with the desire to be offensive. Which is why you have them saying "racism jokes aren't funny" Than they make a bunch of jokes about how much they dislike the french and british. They really are algorithm monkeys and with the way things are trending this year, twitter being owned by musk was a big loss to the safe edgy people because the censorship they got protected by was removed. I am expecting them to go back to the way they acted in 2016.

Neo Pagans larping is a very accurate metaphor. I call this aestheticisim, a supertition that adopting the fashion of a archetype will give you the personality, mentality and skills of that archetype. Putting the cart before the horse.
This is exactly what happens when people don't learn about "individualism" in grade school: They become trend whores. Imagine a generation of adults with TikTok on their phone good GOD man.
I think the idea is that, if you LARP for long enough, you become the thing you're LARPING; the artificial becomes natural. However, paganism (outside of Hindus sort-of) is a dead religion. The chain of Tradition has long been broken. It's not authentic.
It's signaling inflation and eventually it erodes whatever was behind the original signaling value and then something new pops up for the reasons the original one did and round and round it goes

As I get older and become more "myself", doing my thing more and more I see how much a LARP/cosplay most of these peoples lives are. They see these laid out archetypes and just go wow, " i can be so unique being the 937 thousandth guy like that!", you wonder what the mental process is there and realise they are just that simple, despite saying they are such individual thinkers, they fail the first test. Like, some of these qualities aren't bad on their own, but why do people keep picking such awful combinations. This faux-sleeze style is the worst, even hipsters were better than this, at least they tried to make their clothees fit.
I may not know what mental illness makes them this way, but I do know it also makes them communist, cause 9 out of 10 guys with this style are champagne socialists.
Social media has made people so desperate to stand out that they swarm like vultures to any niche or aesthetic. Its aamazing how much the word poser has fallen out of use like it's no longer a bad thing. But that's what the majority of these types are. It used to be that your living situation, environment, and attitude influenced how you presented yourself. A natural phenomenon specific to that time period where others also adopted the same look due to sharing the same life factors. "Post ironic" humor should be called a lying cynic since they are just that, people who do things earnestly but lie about it
Most of the "irony" they do is how they actually act but they want to mask it as being a joke to get away with being an idiot. Thats why I call these people algorithm monkeys because they do whatever the algorithm tells them to do.
What pisses me off more is that these people get all upset with gen alpha humor, I've seen them even label all gen alpha kids as "incels" For liking skibidi toilet and calling it brainrot. When the stuff they like is no different than all the dumb and annoying post ironic slop they follow. They are morally grandstanding people who project how much they dislike themselves onto other people to feel better about themselves.
It's newspeak for the word equivocation. Since it uses the words of "ironic humor" as a misdirection or shield to soften the recipients skepticism. So that it is seen as a character trait and not a character flaw like someone who is described as a person who likes to obscure with equivocation.

Napoleon III was based tbh. Nietzsche supported him
Yeah Marx's quote really didn't consider how influential Napoleon III was on internal economic policy.

And you think zoomers don't act this way so? But worse? Lmao
Dude, that's not a Millennial thing. Every generation has its equivalent phase/subculture.
Meanwhile, the Millennials I know deployed overseas and came back to a shit economy that they put more hours into than any prior generation on average. It'll be worse for Gen Z.
The "domesticated" image you're seeing comes in the form of online talking heads, of which the Millennials are at the forefront purely by virtue of growing up alongside the technology.
Late zoomers are just like that, tbh. And maybe they're even worse than millennials

Epic fail
I really makes me laugh how gen-Xers, millenials and zoomer "adults" hate every generations before them for being "dishonest" or "trying to keep appereances for others" while doing exactly the same thing but I guess its just "ironic" as it makes it better.
They love to project how much they dislike themselves onto others because they can't face the reality they are a shitty person.
All of them are right that we haven't had any kind of authenticity in our culture for a long time, but they all fall for the same trap of being "authentic" by putting on a persona that negates the persona of their predecessors
The last two generations are carbon copies of the baby boomers and hippies, yet they fail to realize it much like how un self aware the afformentioned generation is. Or maybe they do realize it and they have so much self loathing they project it onto the generation they resemble the most.
Whyd you put adults in quotes? The oldest zoomers are nearly 30

Every time a guy gets this haircut, an angel loses its wings.
As a woman, to answer your question: After I recovered from the screaming laughter at first sight, I would assume it will either end in a murder-suicide by her hands, or they'll be breaking up in a few months as she realizes he's got absolutely no true masculine qualities to him, or has allowed them to be sucked out of him, and refuses to allow her encouragements to restore them have any impact on him.

These guys ruined sleezecore. Couple years back you could find so nice shirts now these people rob the thrift stores now for anything thats remotely "vintage". And they aren't even aming to look like a cool 80s guy, just a fake homeless version of it.

Almost thought you were gonna leave in praise of shadows out for a second
This is the new soyboy of internet
Using In Praise of Shadows as an example of this look made me realize how Wendigoon, whom he lambasted to no end is the antithesis of this very look.
This look has:
-Hairstyle that puts in effort to look like there is no effort
-Facial hair that instantly says "I shouldn't be allowed within 5 miles of an elementary school"
-Complexion that is greasy as well as pasty
-Clothes that put too much effort into making it look like they put in no effort at all
-Tattoos and nail polish that complete the absolute sleaze look.
Now, let's compare that to Wendigoon's style:
-Hairstyle is generally the same, he just stuck with a style that he liked and never changed
-Facial hair is grown out and says "I'm the type of guy you could trust to navigate 50 miles of rough mountain trails while imparting wisdom"
-Complexion is tanned, has definetely been out in the outdoors a lot.
-Consistent look, he just likes hawaiian T-shirts and has a lot of them. Not much to it.
And you can draw these same comparisons to their content if you really wanted to dig deep.
Don't forger the dresses.. and the constant whining.
My first thought when seeing this haircut is always "you need better friends, because whoever told you that looks good doesnt have your best interests at heart..."
They're the type of men who would tell you that you're stuck in 2016 when they're stuck in 2008 with how much they'll talk about how "religion bad and atheism good because it lets you do things!"
Atheism is good because it’s objectively right. Why go after the one thing they’re not wrong about?

Sounds like he is an ultracryptodespotic neofundamentalist hypernationalist with a mix paleototalitarian ideology. Clearly he should be shut down.

Very good question
Seeing this trend makes me hope this video pops off in everyone's feed so that more people can see it and finally abandon this style.
Like how your parents abandoned you?
If only there a similar video for zoomer post irony culture and their political correct Ebonics and safe edgy slop
Not just abandon this style, because then they’ll move to a new one. We have to abandon the people
