Another phonograph collector like myself his collection is nothing to shake a stick at definitely probably spends countless hours in the Lab...salute 🫡
Dope video. I’ve got a few of those, and 3 copies of that Heavy D, a classic for sure. Miss Heavy D for real. I have the Schooly D 12” and LP, funny to hear your reaction to the profanity and the 2 Live Crew. It kind of gave the record a unique look with the nail scratches. I had a moment like that but not that extreme. When I was young, I bought Boo Ya Tribe’s first album and I knew if my Pops heard it he was gonna take it (he wasn’t going for that) so I tried to return with no luck so I kept it hidden. Brother Marquis is still around, Fresh Kid Ice passed. ✌🏽
I never got to see Heavy D live. They were on a Hammer, Jodeci tour but that's when Trouble T-Roy passed. I did get to meet and hang out with the Boo-Ya Tribe though.
@@allthingsdarrelld Oh yeah? That’s what’s up. Yeah, man I was like 9 or 10 when Boo Yaa Tribe’s first album dropped and I bought it off the strength of the single R.A.I.D but boy oh boy when I listened to the rest, I was just thinking, “man, if my Dad hears this he’s gonna throw my tape away!” 🤣 I had already gotten my Geto Boys tape took that I high speed dubbed from my brother when he wasn’t home. Pops was serious about that cussing, he didn’t really care for rap as it is.
I asked you during the video interview in 2007-2007 about the Soundtrack to your Life. You thought it was a good question (I did NOT ask many "good" questions).....So I think it would be interesting to know what the Soundtrack/songs of your life were/are/will be... You did not know at the time the answer to this question but maybe now you have a better answer. Make a Mix Tape about it. I missed You and your spirit at the QBERT show. I had an opportunity to talk with him and you were on my mind...Thanks again for the records. I think the Killer Mike 45 and picture is wonderful. I love the photo of the church with the Red Cross. The white vinyl is beautiful and the name of the song is great, and. the song has a great message!!!!
Have you ever listened to any Clarence Reid Records. I m sure you've hear Master Piece as it has been sampled heavily, along with other blowfly music. But Clarence Reid has 3 studio records that are Wonderful sweet soul music from MIAMI FLORIDA. Betty Wright and Gwen McCrae (many Songs were written by Clarence Reid), and other songs on TK and ALSTON records
I loved that Public enemy lp. Def.Dark Weird. Devil was God's Musical Conductor before he was "kicked Out" of Heaven (if you believe this) and sent to Earth. He/It uses MUSIC to send his message!!!! The Dark Satanic Influence of Music (Rap and Rock). If you haven't seen the documentary "They Sold Their Souls for Rock n Roll".....I highly suggest watching it.....
You got a lot of golden gems 💎 right there especially Nice N Smooths first album
