People don't know how much a farmers wife does like, feeding the kids at home during harvest and doing chores, running augers, milking cows, running grain carts, doing field work, driving semi and hauling food to the fields for the family and workers and running all over for parts, to the veterinarian office and uptown to the post office and grocery store to make stuff for more meals. And plus just being a mom and carrying out her daily and routine tasks.
Tell yall like a older gentleman once told us before on our farm. He said "son if you aint breaking something. Then you aint working." And that's a true statement like none other no matter what brand. If you're putting in work with it, then its eventually gonna break down.
Found your channel a few months ago, after Cole the Cornstar randomly appeared on my recommended list. After watching all of his videos I've gone back and watched yours from the start - I actually just caught up a few days ago. I'm not a farmer, by any means, but this stuff is incredibly entertaining. Great content guys!
Most folks have no idea how every harvest means pushing through problem after problem. Farmers demonstrate the greatest perseverance of all professions.
Dougo your not a dipstick your just doing the job. Nikki and Chet thanks for the Dougo cams we all love y’all and Dougo too. Variety is what makes your channel so good.
Dougo, the master of all. Combine repairs, bulk bin complex, grain trucks. And the only Larson that can talk, walk and video at the same time. Are all Swedes lefties?
And this is why Randy wanted to just keep both combines running. When you have 2 combines running always plan on that 1 might break down and you can keep it moving. Always have a plan what to do if everything breaks down at the same time as well. LoL
Great video that shows the total up's and downs of a harvest day. Nicole I know you have said you had no training in this but your editing is second to none pure professionalism.
Nicole, I agree with the other comments, you deserve a prize . Chet great content . JD tell you they never heard of that auger breaking like that . Funny that another dealer stocked it for that new of a combine lol . You guys are due for a problem free day . Glad your knocking it out .
Great video, sorry about the issues again, I know how disgusting that can be. Been there and done that only in a different venue of work. Dougo sounded like you were at the "frustration point" or beyond and when you were under the combine working with your son, I thought boy what a job.....and I also thought what a blessing. How many fellows have the privilege of sharing their days with their son let alone taught him almost everything he knows about his work and the way he makes his living and provides for his family, the next generation. The problems can be overwhelming but thank goodness if not for your hard work of raising a son who is right that at your right hand to "know and do" do what he does to assist. An awesome job of parenting and instilling the love of work and family and the FARM. I have to say that also for many of our farm families........totally respect you and your hard work and the sons that took ahold of it, love it and it truly is in your/their blood. God bless our USA and our farmers. Darn hard honest work and pride in every kernel of it! Love your channel and your personalities are perfect, not to forget the Big Swede. LOL You guys rock! Mom and Natalie as well! Glad everything is fixed and you are up and running or close to it anyway. Blessings
Nicole you are doing a fantastic job. Nothing but the facts from Chet, spreading from Eric and a lot of giggles from Doug. Hope everything keeps going relatively smooth till the end.
Received my new BIG FRIG stainless 30oz tumblers today! They are excellently made and American quality stuff. Highly recommend others to purchase one. I purchased a few and they are outstanding products.
Chet, don't apologize for being in a bad mood sometimes. With all that you do, you're allowed to have "an attitude" when things get overwhelming. A night's sleep obviously fixed you up. Go-Chet-Go! :-)
Dougo cracked me up with the “Disqualified” comment. Why don’t those bins have sensors or cameras to tell you when they are full? All that technology you would think that would be super easy to do.
@@ollie-lk5dx Define expensive? There are radars, lasers, ultrasonics, and even rudimentary BW probe circuits. Plus with not much money you could automate that feedback to control the entire leg function. In addition you could scale that feedback to have real time bushel inventory. Pretty simply and inexpensive but that’s my opinion.
@TowwerN3 Thanks I kinda do that nerd stuff for a living...lol. So I will quickly explain what I mean. Obviously they have multiple grain bins. I assume they have no type of level sensors on their bins. If they were to install radar sensors on their bins it could shut off that bin once it is full and automatically switch to the next bin. The radar level sensors not only could they tell you the bin was full but they could also be scaled to tell you amount of product. For example let’s say the bin has a capacity of 100k bushels. The sensor could be scale from 0 to 100% so if the radar says the bin is 20% full you know you have 20k bushel etc. Radar level sensor are very cheap and reliable now days compared to 10 years ago. They have laser and ultrasonic level sensors as well that could do the same thing. I am just biased to radars because I find them more reliable and precise. Plus all the bins already have power at the top for the auger motor so it would be simple.

Thats what does it. everything works great when you use equipment but when it sits and everything gets a little corrosion and whatever built up on it equipment then gets finicky until it gets loose again, just in time to put it away for another year typically.
