I worked my entire career in the oil fields of Alberta, Who were my best employees,? people who grew up on farms or still farming. Common sense, ingenuity, and hard work supreme. Hats off to all you farmers.
Nikki has been doing a great job with the video editing. Just needs to be said!
She is killing it for sure. I really liked the music in this one as well.
I was just about to say that
@@allglorytogod12 Who would have thought . Some cool jazz on a farming video . Love your work Nikki .
Yes I agree with you Al Straw !! She does one heck of a job way to go Nikki !!!
Agree on a great job. The jazz was refreshing. But I got pretty pumped up when the 790 rolled out of the shop to the Scottish bagpipe music. Seemed like a Braveheart moment where you know you’re about to go kick some ass . . . on the beanfield of battle.
Loved this video! I’ve never seen a wind system on a combine that’s really cool how it works! Plus I always love seeing the comradery between you guys. The excitement you all have for what you do and the machines you run make these videos fun and interesting to watch! Keep it up guys! Wishing you a safe and profitable harvest! Also AWESOME job Nikki on the editing!
I suggested this "Crary Air System" on yesterday's Video, and here it is today!! Way to go guys!!
Thanks you Chet and Nicole for making and editing videos, and also thank for all the guys at Larson farms, for feeding America.
I don't farm but I do bake the pies for my farm family. Now I know more about the pros and cons of draper and air system. It's nice to see young people who love farming. Fun video!
I really admire everyone’s “get up and go, can do” approach to every challenge you face. The blower is fantastic, what a difference 😃👌👌👏👏👏👏❤️
Just added a WIND SYSTEM to our MACDON and it's amazing. Won't ever be without it. Safe harvest Larson boyz!
The three of you make a good team. Never seen someone get drifted in by leaves in a combine cab. Liked the variety of music.
Nicole seems to be using every musical genre these days. The Mr. Rogers theme is an interesting addition.
Here’s the answer to your cab door debris problem. The DEWALT DCBL720, 20 volt blower. Brushless, variable speed, cure all your ills. I’ve had mine for about 2 1/2 years. Don’t leave the garage without it!
I just love your choice of music.
Yes, I was going to mention. Chet, was that a David Gray rif at 18:40? Great tunes for combining....
Gotta love the "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" music. ;-)
It took me 2 days to watch about 50 episodes of Larson Farms! Man you guys are awesome! I just ordered a Lime Green Larson Farms hat and I can not wait to get it!!!
Been running Crary wind systems on all of our flex heads since 2005. Excellent products. We have put on their gold guards and their spring hold downs. Trying some of their king kut sections this year. Two weeks ish away for me till bean harvest.
That Air system from Crary is brilliant and to minimise your losses is great. Great video
That is one awesome machine, small cordless leaf blower to keep you steps clean. Have a good harvest and be safe.
The dub over music at 6:23 is perfect!!!!!
Really impressed with you Air system on the combine. Works as advertised. Makes a big difference. Thanks for showing us the system. Take care. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
Those air reel systems work great . We have them on both of our heads . We save probably 2 bushels of beans when they are extremely dry due to header loss . We run them in wheat that is downed . The good thing is that you can unhook the other pto shaft to them and run without them as well. Nice video stay safe and farm on my friends !
That tube pointed sideways is blowing the crap the wrong way and making it pile up on your steps.....get rid of it and just drill some holes in the center steel tube to blow the stuff off your feeder house. Keeps it clean and gets rid of the stuff blowing across the feeder house and up on the step. Love the air system.....they do work great. Get a couple extra air tubes on hand though for when you run one into the ground and break it off. Lol
So awesome to see the big equipment running and glad to see the savings from it thanks for another sweet video
Wow....! That is some awesome bit of kit now with all those modifications you have done, very impressive improvement from standard on an already beautiful peice of equipment.
That air system definitely works. You may have to have them to add a 3rd one to keep the steps cleaned off lol. Very impressive though.
I grew up on an Idaho farm, but my Dad died when I was 8 so we sold out and moved into the city. I say that because I would have been the father's age by now and I am blown away by how knowledgeable these farmers are these days. I am cheering for you and keep her between the rows.
The old guys knew a bunch more than we do today, they knew other things that for most was not handed down. Some things that were shelved are coming back. 🤷♂️. Drapers are a good example. 1930 they were canvas today they’re perfected with rubber. Tracks also, steel vs rubber.
We have really short peas and lentils this year and the Duck Foot really help us gain back our yields. I highly recommend it or at least looking into them for next season. We don't have an air reel, we have a Macdon 40' draper that has them and it does better than our 50' flex table
That took me back to the ‘80’s, running Crary air reels on 24’ flex tables. The old combines with the engines beside the cab liked to start fires on the exhaust manifolds.
Chet you never fail to make me smile. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Chet I think you should run the air bar closer to the cutter bar and you could slow it down a lot more, then you won’t need as much horsepower to run it, it will be closer/more direct to where you want it and it won’t be blowing as many leaves everywhere
That is a fantastic piece of equipment. It seems that you and Erik have a lot of fun working together.
I have only been watching Larson for a few months now and love it. I can not wait to see the rest of your season, as well as updates over winter and into spring. Great job!
That thing looks like a real beast coming out of the shop!
Yes what a tight fit!
Big swede don't cut my ring 😂😂😂 you can tell he warming up to the camera great video as always
Nicole great little tune at 6:24 ! Great editing! Love the gopro!
Really cool to see new technology for specific harvest conditions. Chet, you are very perceptive and explain things well to the viewer. I got to say the editing is great, the music fits well Nicole!
Wow! what an elegant solution! I don't really remember if loosing beans on our very small JD combine was an issue. I did notice in the previous video that it looked like you were almost shaving the ground to get the low pods cut. There are small rechargeable leaf blowers that are not really much larger than the fire extinguisher I saw on the ladder. You could get one, keep it in the cab and then crack the door and blow off the debris on the walk way as you are getting out. (I checked and I am not sure if your favorite red power tool company has one...
Cut a piece of cardboard or plastic and ziptie it to the ladder rail to stop the buildup by the cab door . We did that to ours and it keeps the door clear .
or even a screen to stop most of that "IT" from building up!
Just have the Swede clean it before you open the door.
Watched this season from the start till now, feel like a proud parent!
For years you could order a Deere platform without a reel. Many did and installed a crary air reel on their new head. Apparently mother deere decided they didn't like the lost sales so they did away with the reel less option. That's when crary came out with the out front wind system. Not as good as an actual air reel, but it beats throwing a brand new deere reel in the scrap iron.
Try using a leaf blower on top of your combine, to keep clean!
EGo PowerPlus Battery Leaf Blower 180 mph or a piece of cardboard!!
Its amazing that just2 arms can hold that huge shop door up
9:22 "Why cant I have nice things"
Has a jetski stored in a shelf behind him xD
This is just awesome! It's not work when you love what you do...👌
Man dont you just love it when a plan come togather good job guys
Great video Chet, and Nikki you are doing a wonderful job of editing!!! We really enjoy watching every video you do!
5:13 don't scare the poor guy like that 😂
This was a great video. The lengths you and your dad go to - - - to have and run a first class operation- - - outstanding 👍👍👍👍
That's one hell of a shop
What a big Cahuna machine that is!!! You need blower on door too!!! Do you check ground? Guess both combines getting all the beans now. Enjoyed
The functionality of that wind bar is very impressive! Beans on the front of the draper have always concerned me.
you guys pick some awesome tunes that fit perfect with your vids.
I'm impressed you don't have any loss between the seperated drapers, seems like there is a big gap for beans to fall through
Wondering the same thing. Maybe the velocity of the belt and a possible height difference from end of the one belt to the start or the other allows them to jump the gap.
As long as your beans are still in the pod and on the stalk those gaps don't matter much on the draper belts. Those loose beans they are dealing with probably normally don't make it much past the cutter bar
Incoming crop pulls most of that in and you’re left with that amount until ya clean out at the end of the year more or less
Me too.
Exactly what i was thinking... how many of the loose beans fall thru that gap?? We have grown all corn for the last 10 years and before that i only have experience with a crary auger flex head. I just have not seen the big selling point in an expensive draper head...
Hey, I really hope you guys have a great harvest this year!!! God bless!!!
13:40 jeepers, not even a "negative, ghost rider, the pattern is full".
Totally worth the investment if 800 acres pays for it.
At three bushels an acre
That’s one busy day. Just one.
My first videos watching Harvest on this channel and I’m really digging it.
Fast service, sounds like a good company. Problem solved now you need a leaf blower for the combine flat surfaces.
11:19 great celtic tune!
I like tour reaction to header loss. Reaction here and now; professional.
That was a fast installation Larson farms!
Yea a couple of things with an air reel are the pile of leaves on the feeder house and the dust flying in front of you especially at night when going with the wind .
So much green and yellow. I love it. “If it’s red leave it in the shed”
No the the red out to rust
Great video guys, very civilised tunes! (Adds loads to content)
Really love seeing the reality of what it takes to bring in the harvest..as well as what a FULL day of work is like... Even with all the tech...you still have to work the hours.... There should be internships on farms...so teens today can actually understand/appreciate what REAL work day is like and what a days work/job well done is like.
Also, an electric leaf blower (Ryobi 40v) might be handy to have in cases of leafy debris on the combine.
You kinda have your own version of Jaws going on! " I think we need a bigger door!"
Thank you for sharing like coming along with you during the harvest
Awesome music rolling out the combine!
Very impressive! Thanks again for sharing! 👍
If this is not a great commercial for Crary, I don't know what is.
I like the flag on the combine auger! @17:39
Love it. Love learning all about the machinery. Love the hi-speed action shots with fitting music in the background. Keep up the great content!
Someone had fun with the music selection on this one ehh? 👌 Good job little blondie 👍
Glad the air system works well for your operation
OMG< What a gorgeous piece of equipment. I hope and pray it does what you guys want. Best wishes and stay safe.
Need a Portable leaf blower. Great work and a very informative video
Honestly you do a great videos. Showing good and bad of farming. Chet your dad and I are the same age . A new friend from north central north dakota .1/4 mile from Canada ay.
Absolutely incredible technology and engineering. Great video🇺🇸
Great to work with companies that responsive. Ya, sure the TH-cam channel helps, but man, they came the next day!! Glad it’s working as you hoped.
All around Awesome!! Nice music update Nicole 👌 👍
Maybe using a little too much air pressure maybe you need to turn it down try that 👍👌
Be safe out there guys see you next time
Love that jazz! Good video as always.
Nikki... will you program my music library please?? Your musical taste ROCKS!!!!
Great job setup 👌😉👍
Gotta love your "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" music...
Its crazy how 2 amazing youtubers live so close to each other(you know who the other person is)
This is first class video footage and editing! I sure enjoyed this one.
We carry a little hand held millwalkie leaf blower in the cab I’d say if you turned it on when you opened the door it could keep some of those beans out of cab
An other nice video Nikki & Chet and the team good job 💪👍😀
we don't run a air system but have the same problem. we will be going to air system on both out STS and 680 next year
What a beast! Love the S- series!
Yay new video can’t wait for more harvest videos and keep up the good work Chet and keep up the Good work Nikki 👍👍👍
Excellent music choices Nicole..
That’s a huge difference!! I was wondering if it’d be worth it. Obviously it is.
Very informative video. Especially liked the before and after. Nice job
Get you some snow/riot fence, bailing wire, duct tape, and zip ties. Farmer- Cobble a debris guard for the cat walks and video the process. Or turn the fan down from an f5 tornado to an f3 or f2 🌪
I tell you what , I’ve grown up in the country and on farms , but I have never seen the type of stuff you aw have on your equipment!! I love your videos and am learning a lot !! Thanks for letting us ride along! And where can I get one of those Larson Farm tshirts ?
The link is in the description for LF apparel.
Maybe you can have them pipe some air up to the platform area by the door to blow that stuff away. Looks like a cool system. Can you show us what is being left on the ground, after the header and also out the back? Nicole,.....great job on the music and editing. Also,.....the "Big Swede" may want an auxiliary air tube hooked up for him, so he can blow his long locks in the breeze like a movie star. (Ha!Ha!)
Grab that cordless Milwaukee blower for the cab when you get out...
Enjoying the show
Great video and camera work but all comes down to Nicole doing a great job of editing 👏👏👏👏👏
That is so cool! I am learning so much! Thank you!
Dougo rocks! Wind system is pretty cool
