UK is that last place l will advise any family to migrate to with children. It is not actually the fault of these countries. It is the fault of the stupid govts we have in Africa. Why should we in the first place have thought of migration if things are ok in our various countries.

Those who are interested in the law should take there children there, Africa is not ready to become Babylon yet. The Bible says , train a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Sorry I quoted Bible forgetting that many of you don't believe in God.

    I’m Carribean British.
I had a friend from Sierra Leon who sent for his children and his daughter did exactly the same thing.
She refused to go to bed in a timely manner, started getting mouthy to her parents.
Ultimately she went to school and told her teachers that she was being chastised by her parents and taken into care.
I told him the minutes he started to play up you should have sent her back home.
This country don’t care about families, they are happy to break up a family.
Once children get into the system the family will never be the same again.
    My advice stay home!

This law is very good as it protects children from many factors as abuse, anger, violence and it gives opportunity a child to develop good attributes without cohesion or force. Africans lets learn to put sense in our children in a calm and peaceful way. Allow children to express themselves by talking honestly for you to understand them. Beating, shouting, punishment, arrogance and aggressiveness destroy the will power of a human being.

  • @TheKarenRoach

There is a big difference between parenting in Nigeria and parenting in the UK, but a wise person would ask why that is the case. Why have the laws been made so strict to protect the rights of the child? It is not intended to destroy families. Why has the law been made this way? Over many year there have been too many high profile cases where children have fallen through the safety net and everyone in this country is aware of those cases: Maria Colewell, Jasmine Beckford, Victoria Climbie, Logan Mwangi, Arthur Labinjo-Hughes, and Baby P and many many more. If you look up these cases , you will cry. This is why there is a legal obligation laid on every member of society to report any suspected child abuse. Note suspected not proven. This is why so many neighbours report when there is any signs that a child may be in trouble. A wise person will learn from this.

what exactly is your point here? That we are all lost in slavery again. The law is the law. Agreed. But does that justify the children's behaviour in exposing their parents to this hardship by taking advantage of Western Law to support their indiscipline? Many parents have made a wise choice of relocating back to Nigeria having observed the waywardness and indiscipline of their children abroad. They choose to depart from the ease and privileges of living abroad rather than losing their children to wildlife. Or what is the point of gaining pound sterling, dollar and having all the world vanities to lose your children to cultures that are alien to our heritages? This you need to advise parents to do rather than becoming a spokesman on behalf of alien cultures and indirectly casting blame on the parents and justifying degradations of moral values on the side of the children.

The children are going to go into a care home where they will not only be mentally abused but racially abused they will not stay with the foster carers but will be subjected to various different foster parents the child’s behaviour in school will start to deteriorate before the child gets expelled at 16 the child will get a flat and a grant and left to fend for themselves

    • @markokusanya855

Worse of all, the children are put into forster care and then legally abused with the protection of the system.
The social worker is just protecting his job by using the most detrimental word to describe the situation.
What he needs to do is educate the system as to how the Nigerian culture works like other cultures have done and not sellout your people.
How would anyone who has their lives threatened with being detained in prison still insist that the child was wrong if they didn't feel that what they cautioned the child on was justifiable???
He then makes a contradictory statement by saying melanated people are disproportionately represented in the system.
He should question himself what is the cause of that.
He is simply far removed from what the Nigerian culture is and should improve the system by starting a program to integrate both systems.
So my advise is to take a closer deeper look into the system to improve it as there are many abuse cases when it comes to children placed in care.

This happened to a west Indian couple I know the children was separated in different foster homes and about to be moved when the mother requested they be given to the father. Success story they've all done well; apart from the one who reported the issue. The father has just forgiven the daughter who reported him and visited her along with the last child.
I've professional friends who took their children back to the Caribbean/Africa see what life is like outside the 🇬🇧. Some Asian families do so too when the children start becoming wayward.

If your children are not behaving.Take them to the store.Ask them to pick out whatever they want.Purchase it for them.Wrap it very well.Keep it outside the home.Tell them what you want them to do to get the gift. And watch them doing everything you want them to do.Turn tv on and enjoy your peace.No. Do not put your hands on them, but you have to discipline them.

This is one or the worst place to grow your child. You are not allowed to grow your child/children in the fear of the Lord. They are taught that if their parents administered corporal punishment, then they are being taught to spare to rod and spoil the child. The reason why there are so much teenage murders is because these children is being taught that their children that their parents has no right to put their hands on them. So these children think that it is right to go out with a knife and take each others life because they have not being taught right from wrong. A parent has no right to grow their children. The bible says that you should train up the child in the way that they should go and when they are old they would not depart from it. Very few children ever go into care and do not grow up offending, not only here but in most western countries

Trying to manipulate the children away from the case is an additional crime - obstruction of justice - the parents or whoever is asking the children to “beg their parents”should be charged for doing so.
Here in the USA, the parents are not at liberty to work with the authorities, they are under obligation to work with the authority or get prosecuted for child endangerment.
Stop making it a black and white issue, child abuse is treated similarly irrespective of the abusers color. Based on what you are saying, this couple is primitive and still lives in Nigeria in spirit, their children have been removed because of their primitivism, not because of the color of their skin.

These parents need to abide with the British system laws and local authorities policies.
The pride that they are in control of their children needs be nullified and be humble here in Uk.

If it is possible, children should be brought to the western world to attend university. At that stage, a good personality must have been molded in them. I don't support the tough Nigerian treatment of children abroad, though. As a parent, if you think that you can't conform to the legal standards abroad, please stay back in Nigeria. What happened here is quite unfortunate.

Just emphasize that parents should not be so mad as to beat their children leaving physical marks on them.Usually that's what triggers the Child Protective Services not necessarily because of beating them except it is different in the UK.Usually in most cases in the US you can beat your children but you must not leave injuries on their body.Initially he made it seem like no beating at all adding just in passing that you must not beat them at all.

@@ROZES2009 That is in Britain. I live in Virginia US.Our law is you can chastise your kids but no physical injury which simply means that you can discipline them in that manner but must not go overboard as that will amount to wickedness towards the child.I understand you live in the UK so you can only say what is obtainable where you live but as some point you were talking about the western world which made me to make the clarification. For us in Virginia we try not to beat our kids for the simple reason that you do know just how not to make them have physical marks on their body especially when they drive you crazy.

Can you please define what you mean as chastisement of a child. What is the duty of a parent towards his or her child. Remember, spear the rod and spoil the child. The police themselves chastise their children. I have seen and not exaggerating. You as a Nigerian should speak for your people and not standing with the authority for their detriment. What do you understand as integration. I do not believe that any African parent loves his or her child less except if that parent has an undiagnosed mental issue. Why should the authority remove a paternal or maternal right of a parent and encourage children to do whatever they like and finish in a mental hospital as is the case of children of this generation who are unguided through the right part. I am angry listening to this nonsense. I do not encourage harming any human being let alone a child, but please Nigerians have moral values and obligations towards children and should be allowed to exercise that right and inculcate them into their children.

I just stumbled on your video, I must say that your video lack originality and factual content. The word Chastising is vague and loosely used, were the children disciplined with a whip or just verbally chastised, how often was this done, these are all the facts that you as a claimed social worker supposed to tell your audience. You claim that you are a social worker but from your video I think you are part of the problem. How can you allow children to be separated from their biological parent into foster homes when all sorts of societal ills abound, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation children growing up without discipline and respect for their seniors. The Bible says ‘show a child the way to go and when he grows he won’t depart from it’ now that they are in foster care who is going to show them the way to go. Children need to be shown the way to go, this includes punishment, discipline chastisement. The parent needs to show them that there is consequences for their actions be it good or evil so that you have a society that is Godly and worth living by all. But I am highly disappointed by your video as a Nigerian talking like that, were you not chastised in your school back home, didn’t you do chores after school, you Francis is a disgrace to come out as a social worker and be talking in this manner, as a social worker the next best place a child can develop properly outside parental home is the immediate family member but you are placing them under the care of government and we do know that anything the government touches it destroys. As a social workers you will know that children that were placed in foster care back in the 40s 50s,60s 70s 80s and even recently turned out to be sexually abused, go and read the government white paper that was released during the government of David Cameron on sexual abuse of children. Go and read ‘Investigation and Prosecution of Child Abuse Cases’ and be enlightened. Don’t be part of the problem be part of the solution.
