Does it mean she doesn’t thank d assumed aunties. I teach my kids to inform me whenever someone gives them anything. My parents trained me that way. I know us African parents we tend to send our problematic children back home. It is a good intervention but always make sure when that happens, one of you has to go back home with them and support them there. At the end of the day no one can look after your child better than you.

Exactly, what I did as soon as my son turned 5 yrs old I took him to Nigeria and that was for so many reasons. 1) I was born here in the 60's with 2 other siblings and we were taken back to Nigeria. I was also 5 when we went back home obviously that was the norm with all parents at the time. When I came back at the age of 23 there was a big difference between us and those who never took their childrent home- Lack of education, gangs, adult still living with their parents, no ambition, teenage pregnancy with more than one kid and different fathersetc. Now I had my son and life happened I had to raise my son by myself however, regardless I have always known that I will never raise my kids here no matter what. So at the age of 5 I left my banking job (Barclays) to be precise and went home. For those who like to console themselves thinking I had wealthy parents no, the were middle class so there was no wealth neither any job to go to but we had the best education which today has sustained us. Where I lived as a single person at the time I didn't even pray for him to go to schools in the area knowning that I went to private schools back home. I worked tiredlessly, saved up and quit my job to go raise my son and we were there for 10 good years, he went to an International school in GRA Lagos and gained admission into Greensprings Lekki. Now like you said one of the parent will have to make sacrifice or put their childeren in expensive school out there afterall you will be exchaning money if people living there can afford it why can't you. My sons school was well equipped with full A/C in all classes, well equipped lab, 24/7 electricity, only 6 pupil in domitory, laundry room with washing machine , eat good food, every weekend they take then to cinema, Sundays go to church. They had swimming pool, big field , it was home to home and there was no such thing as senior or junior they all were equal not like in those days where senior will punish junior. I eventually made my son go to boarding the last two years as he was getting to attached and I wanted that independence. Academically he had 8A's and 1B sitting IGSC not WAEC or GSS whatever by the time he got here most schools offered him admission. Today is a a graduate, 26 years old, well mannered and above all God fearing. Most people always commend me for what I did and to be honest it benefitted us both because I couldn't cope on my own raising him and the last thing I wanted was to start hanging him with friends here and there just to make ends meet.
People who have challenging children should forget about money and concentrate on their kids. At the end of the day we are both back now London is not running any where I am back with a better job than what I had before so it's all about what matters to you most your childrens success or money the choice is yours. After i did I have 2 other friends who did the same and they were both boys who had already grown but misbehaving though both parents didn't relocate but one sent hers to her mum and was sending serious money to ensure he was comfortable and the second to her sister and to God be the glory both boys are back here now doing well.

Francis, thank you for sharing. Every parent should watch this video. They are recruiting teenagers to transport their drugs all over the UK. They would give these boys things they know the parents can not afford to give them; the latest and most expensive gadgets etc. They should have left him in Africa. He was safe there!!!
Whatever happen to the boy it's 100% the Mom's fault. ONLY GOD CAN PROTECT THESE CHILDREN. Lord guide and protect the Children all over this world. Have mercy on the parents. We all need divine guidance as a compass to navigate and do our job as parents.

A mother love for her child is so unconditional, and her feelings and pain are so different from anyone else. He knew how to get his own way by playing with her emotions. He knew if anyone could get him back into the UK, it would be his mother. Not eating much to lose weight must have been part of his plan. He wanted his parents to believe he was being starved of food. It worked because it tore at his mother heart, maybe gave her sleepless nights, and cried. He knew the mother would get the father to agree eventually. All he had to do was sit back and wait.
I have a friend who was in the same predicament. His son was forced to join a gang, and he refused. So the gang, every time they saw him, they would attack him.The son went to his father and told him what was happening and asked his father to send him home to Africa. Notice the difference. This child did not want to go down the wrong path, not even for material gain like the latest phone or nice clothes that come at a price. The father granted his son wishes and sent him home to Africa.

I was an awful child I brought the police to my mums door often..looking back my parents did all they could...I blame the child ..but I have also sat in many muilty agency meetings as a professional and I blame the social workers...because they often make the wrong decisions and try and get other sevices to carry out their work..they pass the book and they are not truthful . Education hates black boys and often missers conditions..the prisons are all of people mental health and educational needs. The only people there for theses kids is the street.. because mum and dad are busy working and education sees them as a problem 😢

When we find ourselves in the situation like this, I would advise to my fellow African people if you want to take your child back to Africa for discipline we should all know by now that social media is an advance and you can work from home. You can do anything if you have the Internet and social media you got smart phone you are actually connected to the whole world in that small house or place where you live, so we should also bear in mind that social media plays a big role in our lives and we should try to avoid as much as we can to discipline our kids and take away the privilege of meeting people who wants to do bad to us

Mothers should allow fathers to handle their children most especially the sons with manly strength. Stop destroying your children with unnecessary emotions. In the past in Yoruba tribe where I come from, fathers' decisions on children were final. This western world ideas will not work hundred percent for us in Africa.
And why are parents of nowadays turn their children to gods? Why would you believe your children without verifying him/ her?
Our culture is far more better than oyinbos when it comes to training of our young ones. Let's retrace our steps.
You are what you are today because your African parents that brought you up, unless you have regret that you are not fulfilled.

What you have stated is after the event. The mother was the catalyst and the father was trying to make good of a bad situation.
That boy is supposed to be in Nigeria receiving sense, but the mother used Jezebel tactics to coerce the father into bringing the boy back.
Accountability is apparently a thing when it comes to a certain gender taking responsibility for their actions/contributions towards the breakdown of family.

To the point of boycotting her spouse, THE FATHER OF HER FAVOURITE CHILD 🤦🏾‍♀️😡. She's not a schemer. She (just) lacked discernment, patience, firmness, humility and intelligence. When you send a child to Africa, you cannot put them in Boarding school as there is a lot going on in there too. A misbehaving child should be sent to Africa only if you have a relative that is firm and can supervise him /her well to confirm he has changed. The mother forgot to look for changes in him all she saw was he was very lean, that is not enough reason to bring him back. If he was put in a family home things would have been different. Also the child should be put in a public school not private, they really see the other side of the world then. While doing this fasting and prayer should be raised on his. Half by both parents, 12:0am - 1:00 am.
I pray it’s not too late for him to have a life after whatever comes out of this problem. Parent need to spot check their children at school, check their rooms. It is not easy being a parent but do not look for money by spending all your time at work while you leave your future (children) to do whatever and come home whenever they want.

Why should they send their child to Africa? Who was there to change him? They should have relocated to Africa with him if they think is the best place to train a child. The solution to the boys problem is not relocating him to Africa. He needed prayers, counseling and rehabilitation. They should have been part of his life to know what he was actually doing? You don’t allow you child buy things on their own and whatever relatives or anyone wants to give your child it must pass through the parents otherwise you trace where he gets it and destroy the items.

This outdated notion of clever children going to church is why so many boys end up in trouble. It's not like back home where good grades make teachers love them, parent needs to provide after school activities so the children are not lured into county lines. Church is boring and they needs engaging activities for young people, they will lie to all family members so they can get what they want
