We are just getting these Milwaukee green lazer in the uk 🇬🇧 but not all of them we have the usb and top of the m12 lazer but I want the first m12 one which is not here yet but I will keep my eye on them thanks for your video stay safe 👏👏👍
I appreciate this video. There’s a few tidbits that help even if Milwaukee probably won’t be my first purchase. I’m looking for something cheaper to make sure I can find enough uses before I justify laying out the bigger money. I don’t think the brand of the tripod matters a lick, they’re interchangeable and there’s a huge ecosystem of camera tripods available to pick from to match your exact needs and wants. I might even use one of my Manfrottos.
Great review and video Bob. I think you touched base on everything we would like to know before purchasing. I recently bought the USB rechargeable green cross line and plumb point laser. Very nice kit that came with all the accessorises and now Milwaukee makes a tri-pod stand, which I purchased as well. Great product. You mentioned the perhaps flimsy cord and USB charging but since I have the Milwaukee radio, the battery and cord stay hidden in the top compartment while charging. I love the thought process behind all their tool line. Keep up the good reviews! Always nice to get feedback from a user before purchasing! Cheers
Those lasers are huge! I use my bosch 360° + cross line laser for doing shelves and cubbies in closets. With those bricks hanging off the wall, I'd hit them very often. BTW. Metal closet rod, taped to the wall, works great for being able to adjust the height rapidly with the bosch. If Milwaukee comes up with a USB 360° green laser, I'll be the first in line.
Excellent tool reviews by someone who works in the field & actually USES the products. Nothing worse then reviews by some clueless DIY weekend warrior with a camera. Your reviews are spot on for people who make a living in the construction trades. Update: I watched this vid again to decide on M12 vs USB battery. Video helped my decide to purchase the M12 version as tool only, as I already had M12 batteries. Thanks again.
Green is good 👍. Hey do you guys plan on doing a head to head on cordless 9" concrete cut off saws? I know there are 3 out now and you guys really do fantastic job with your had to heads. Thanks
Very informative. Do you mind providing be weight and size difference between the M12 line and point verse the USB line and point? The M12 line and point is a lot larger then I expected. Quite a bit larger then the DeWalt green line AA battery one I’ve been using.
one thing that was not mentioned was the laser lock. The laser level lock the pendulum of the laser to the plumb and level of the unit. So if you have it on, the unit itself is not level/plumb by x degree that's within the auto level function, you flip the lock on, the laser will shift. it doesn't lock the laser to where it's currently projecting. I almost bought this unit today until i discover that issue.
Just so you all know. Bill, over at Sparky Channel, just did an interview with Milwaukee regarding their lasers and the Milwaukee representative mentioned that they will be releasing tripods very soon after the launch of the lasers.
Will any of these stick on mudded corner bead?? My pls 180 did but my new hilti 3 plane 360 will not.. Pls will not recalibrate past warranty I think 2yr they wanted to charge more than what I paid for the laser brand new to replace it. wanted me to send in my old and they would take 20 bucks off an inflated price replacement laser
In the next release they should include some of the accessories and put it in packout. I wonder if they didn't want a laser bounced around with the other tools?
Do you see the three plane laser as a good do it all laser for interior and exterior work? I don’t see myself doing any really large projects outside but if I can use the same laser for both that means I won’t have to buy a rotary laser. Thoughts would be appreciated.
I am not a contractor but want to Mark 4 accuracy corners with laser 32x48’ building site and then use orange paint to Mark corners and paint along grading border lines. Can they do this or is it old school with string etc?
Do they work with a receiver as an accessory and if so how does that sit on a flat surface. I mainly fit kitchens or as you say remodel. I use a receive to place on the corner of the base cabinet and when I’m on the floor twisting the feet to adjust the receiver make an audible solid tone when I reach the lasers beam. For this to work the receiver needs a flat base.
Yes, they're great for that. You would set the laser 6" or so below the ceiling and measure up to the ceiling at any point using a tape measure or ruler. The laser shines on the tape, making measurements easy.
@@morganwheeler7417 Yeah the only problem is they need to have an accuracy of around +/-1mm and I don't believe any laser line could give that due to the thickness of the lines omitted.

Hi there I bought one Milwaukee laser level but the magnet is so weak, I didn't expected this from Milwaukee but... If you know guys is there any replacement stronger magnets?
At the end of the video you make it sound like the usb-based models need a cord & charger to work; they do not. Regarding the tripod, I recommend you take a look at the FastCap LaserJam, or Third Hand and LaserMount. Height adjustments are simple with either one. For my once or twice a month need, the LaserJamb is too bulky to keep in my van full time, but the Third Hand easily stores with my other long/tall tools.
After some research on laser levels, I decided to go with the usb cross line. But I would like to make sure the vertical line goes all the way up to the ceiling. I would pretty much only use it to work in the ceiling. If someone know please let me know, and thank you in advance.

Even though they're more pricey, I can see the M12 possibly selling better just to eliminate the minor headache of the USB battery. The charging cord they use screams of a constant battle to track down which moron stole your cord to charge their phone.
Milwaukee needs to revise there 4v platforms. First of get rid of the micro USB. micro USB does have its uses but one of them is not to be reconnected over and over and over. That task should be given to usb-c. Either use usb-c connector or maybe even look into Apple lightning connector. There is some potential for a single cell battery plattform. But no brand seems to be even trying.

Let's face it, these Milwaukee lasers come from China too, they just have a familiar name printed on them and take (our beloved) M12 batteries. For the price difference I'm willing to get a little creative powering it should I need all-day run time.
Why can't they make one comparable to a dewalt like under 100 that just goes straight up for laying out lights. That would be a laser that I would buy for my tools. If it is 2-3 hundo that would be more of a company tool and I would have to share meaning I would never see it again. So cheep self level straight up that's it nothing fancy
Love the green and the micro adjuster BUT my manual park red laser was $60!!!!!!! As for the USB batteries(???) we've had rechargeable AA, AAA, Cs and Ds for decades. Two AA last for days. TIP 1: magnet on a metal third hand is a lot easier and FASTER than a tripod and floor to ceiling. TIP 2: drawing or snapping the line saves a lot on batteries especially if they cant even make it through a work day. I pity the fool who drops that $600 (+shipping and taxes) laser. Shame on Milwaukee.
Remember this is a job site tool, if you want it to survive mishaps and serve you for years you need the internal components to be protected by rigid casing. And for the price I'm sure you can get some cheaper ones but remember that almost always you get what you pay for.

Yes it's some Chinese brand I'd never heard of, but LOTS of people have tons of good things to say about them so for the price it's worth a shot.
Red lithium batteries to power a green lazer. How weird is that!
"think water..or coffee" lol .or red bull, if you work with the guys I work with
Love the green and the micro adjuster BUT my manual park red laser was $60!!!!!!!
Too bulky too expensive,
Same design as the flawed defwalt one
Remember this is a job site tool, if you want it to survive mishaps and serve you for years you need the internal components to be protected by rigid casing. And for the price I'm sure you can get some cheaper ones but remember that almost always you get what you pay for.
@@eliadbu ya I have the spectra precision lt58 I definitely got what I paid for.
Had the dewalt one replaced twice because of out of sqaure and planes not being level went for the big fish after
🍻🥃👍
