I could see the different bases filling different needs, one for base coating & one for detailed. Though as someone prone to arthritis in my fingers I could see the thin one causing me pain if I hold it by the narrow part. I'd be interested in giving it a try.

It's easier to hold and bit lighter (which might help with longer sessions) i like the ergonomic change. BUT it feels cheap and they reduced number of springs per side from 3 to 1 and after month of usage it starts getting loose.

My 2 cents, a good handle has the option to rest the assembly against a surface while upside down (hint the Hobby Holder with a Stability Bar), this allows you to get to those surfaces while keeping the mini in a rock solid position. I own the other Citiadel Handles (they have their place) but I won't be picking one of these up.
Seems a little cheaper but more ergonomic. I do think your supposed to hold the round part in your palm and let the thin part rest in between your thumb and index finger.
Whenever GW comes out with an accessory I immediately look to find out the generic name and find the normal version's lower price. Getting it from them doesn't even occur to me anymore.
@@Grandtank1999 I can't say I've looked recently, but my wife has a pair of them from the campus bookstore and my nephling has one sitting on their shelf with their other hobby supplies. I think that was a gift from last Christmas.
Hard pass for me. I bought the first handle and didn’t really care for it. Would have been great if I had 20+ handles so I wouldn’t have to constantly switch out the models. A wine cork, mdf round base to give some stability for tipping over works perfectly for me. Far cheaper
I just noticed that on the box of the new one they literally took the images from last years handle and put it in the box you can tell by the handle having the flat sides instead of the round ones the new ones have.
I got only the new one (MK II aka 2020) and boy I would kill for those towery-like handles!!! It's so small, that I can literally use any wine cork and there is as much grip as on this handle! :( :(
loading the models onto the thing takes too long for me. I want to batch paint a bunch of stuff usually so I want a faster change of the handle or a handle on each model.
You know I have to wonder why is it that a company that counters every augment made regarding its release scheduling or production of miniatures with we,“only have limited production capacity.” But can some how fit in making painting handles.
No comment on square bases? GW made a bug deal about AoS being cool with square bases. So 2 of my armies are on square. On the old handle they just about work. The new one looks awful for squares
Wanna bear the truth? Costs more and is made cheaper. Only one spring and the grip is smaller to use less plastic. Simple as that. They could've made the heads available separately but they rather sell a cheaper and more expensive versione of something everyone already has

It’s been corrected, it’s actually 2 packs of 6 per store. Hopefully that will improve to meet demand once the ‘Rona has calmed down and production can be ramped up again, cause they’re struggling atm to meet demand

The most ridiculous thing about this is you struggling ti say something positive about an objectively inferior product just cuz you want to get free stuff from GW.
Citadel should just stick to the original and only compensate for different base sizes they dont need to make this single tool to look elegant personally the new one just looks like a butt plug

The old handle is a rook. The new one is a bishop. Every year GW will make a different shape handle till we have a whole chess set.

I think it was a miss-step to simplify the jaws but the handle itself is prob a better fit ergonomically.
