Say what you want about Disco, but these are elements you just don't hear in modern music anymore, and if so, RARELY. Big time string addict here - thank you!
Dua lipa’s production are very much into the disco strings vibe. Not sure who else though
Disco
Hindi film scores
Old Yes / Nice
....love strings
So much house music samples disco strings
Idk there’s definitely been a large resurgence in disco popularity in recent years. It’s not in every mainstream song (though there are a few big ones) but disco/funk is huge.
@@ryanbailey1794SG Lewis occasionally, Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, Calvin Harris has two big albums in that vein, Jafunk, definitely a good amount of artists i’m not naming
edit: now that i’m relistening to the Calvin Harris albums not that many disco strings on there lol
When I need a little pick-me-up, I watch a Doctor Mix video. 😁
Always.
Most of the time, sponsored videos feel like ads. Watching your stuff is so much different, its a lot of fun watching you recreating these great tunes out of the blue in such a fast pace. Great video as always
Strings are cool but bass is awesome. Love disco from '70 played by musicians.
A live drummer and bass player makes everything better, as today's pop producers have started to rediscover.
A tip. Usually key switches are placed on the highest or lowest keys, however you don't have to. You can place your key switch on a "unused" key a semitone away from where you need to make the switch (make it silent) and play the switch key as a ghost note. This way the timing is easier and it frees up your other hand.
I like the emulation between you 2. You express something in less than one word and it is done. That’s a great combination for a good and quick creativity...with the right computer support. Disco will never die...please more disco fun, Mister Doctor ;)
Sounds very realistic, good for disco bangers.
This library came out 35 years too late. I used to produce with the Proteus/2 with the marcato strings preset, then, Peter Sieszladjeck Violins, then LASS, but ended up learning to play strings myself out of deep frustration. And now the library comes out😒.
Amazing video BRO ☺♥♪
All these tools are incredible, but require high musical skills to fully explore their potential. Claudio is such a damn good player, man!
I realize its all a joke to you but I love this stuff. You recreated the disco vibe that we had back in the 70's and early 80's except you are using modern tech and sampling files. But that riddle made me travel back in time to my youth. Funky! Thank you.
I miss disco.
This library is absolutely perfect. Great work
I always have loved Disco Funk. The very best! In 1991 and 1992, when everybody was throwing them away, I bought a shitload of Disco vinyls at the flea markets, sometimes as cheap as 10 DM (5 Euro) for 20 discs haha
Yeah the early and mid 90s were great to buy mint vinyls on flea markets for ridiculous low prices. 3 DM /1,50 € for Kraftwerk‘s Computerwelt. 🤣
You're insane...... insanely good !!! we're back in 1977.................. Disco heaven ! ................. Hooooo Yeaaaah baby.............
Finally the VERY best genre: DISCO!!!! Check Cerrone...Bionic Boogie...Alec Costandinos....Musique....Barry White....Silver Convention.....Voyage for the best strings ...but for REAL!
Best way to learn. Having fun!
Thanks
Years and years listening to the CHiPs soundtrack on Italia 1 is finally paying off I think
Cubase! My favorite DAW since Atari ST version 😎
No matter the equipment, playing like Claudio makes all the difference! He’s a boss.

So glad to see the brilliant SoundPaint Sampling featured on your channel!!!
As always, well done mixage', of advertising using the product, with a great vibe and uber high production values. "No one does it better...", Sir Claudio and Team (Hey, Luis!)! ❤
Now dude, this one was funky as hell! True 1977 disco experience!
So great how you know how to play these string arrangements by heart! You can hear them in your mind, I think? Only thing I would add is a little bit of octaver to make the strings sound a little bit bigger.
Your iconic disco string track is already as a ringtone in my smartphone 😁😁😁😁
Great.... cool.... unique.... is Doctor Mix's.
Greetings from CHILE 🍷🍷🍷🍷

You manage to hide the learning in the fun!
These two guys are like Batman and Robin thanks for your vibes !

Fabulous great music. Thank you for sharing .
Bringing it back! This was awesome.
Tbh, the first music you played in the video doesn’t sound like real strings but the one tou played at the end of the video does sound legit.
I love to hear Luis (sp?) talk a lot more. A small conversation makes the video more enjoyable.
*_Huge thanx Claudio 4 great Disco Strings._*
💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃💃
soundpaint is amazing with it's legato warping technology
Nice to see so much spontaneous fun! :)
One of the great masters of strings is Jeff Lynne (ELO/Traveling Wilburys), who successfully managed to fuse classical, rock, pop and disco in a tight cohesive package, and in doing so, pretty much set the gold standard.
OHH YES . . . YES . . . YES soooo beautiful ❤ i love it !!! 💯🤘
Wow, the Persona 5 OST came to mind instantly, it sounds just like it!
Gotta love this man. thanks Doc!
Hi Claudio You are the GREATEST , I love your SHOW !!!
Greetings from Germany Wolfgang .
Putting out strong Chris Lowe vibes with those reflective shades!
Fools overture..... that would work wicked awesome ❤
I bit of syncopation of the bass, would push that groove into outer space 😊love the way you play Rhodes ❤❤❤
Damned Fantastic Claudio! Bravo! Bravo! Encore! Encore! 🎉
We need more disco like this!
You said 1977? My year when getting sounds directly to my ears, although I probably felt some 1976 bass through my mum's belly. Anyway this means I need the soundpaint Disco Strings 🎉🕺🏻🧔🏻♀️🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎹👟👟✴️🪩✨🍸 Knights in white satin:🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻✨
Another great video doc, those strings sure are sounding fine 👌👍 Oddly i was thinking of doing a rework of Electric Light Orchestra's last train to London before this video dropped. This has just fuelled some serious inspiration!
Hahaha you always make me happy 😊
Impressive demonstration by a professional in a coveted studio using iconic instruments under mystic lights: always enjoying! ❤
But that dust.... 🤭

💜 The Very Best vst/instrument/DAW… EVER!…Kontakt Who!? 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Respect to the team also...very talented i
Yes !!!!!! So good
The best bass lines I learned as a kid were from Disco songs. Listen to the Original theme from the TV show Chips... fantastic example of Disco in its hayday and a great bass line. 👍🏻
This is up my alley
Amazing !
1st of all! Thank You 🙏 sooo much! Posting this video! Love ❤️ 💕You so much, takes me back to age 8/9ish? I was a pure disco junkie!!! Yeah!!
For those wondering it's 8dio Sound Paint "Disco Strings" killer samples
Everybody on da floor

He will certainly not save ya
But he's gonna make you sweat!
PIIO! PEEO! PWOAAAAA!
That imperial march. ❤
Strapping on my roller skates as we speak!
Very impressive.
Hi Claudio,
the trills remind me so much of the Mission Impossible strings - could you deconstruct that theme, please...?
Jupiter 80 has some sweet strings.
More real Disco would be greatly appreciated....DISCO RULES!
I am soeechless! 🎉❤😊
- Cool. Seems to have all the strings you could ever need, and then some more.
- I heard Pachelbel's Canon in D in there. Remember the epic "Canon Rock" version that JerryC did on his guitar when TH-cam was still young?
LOVE IT!!!
Doctor mix or a man of musical fun
I envy you so much. :) Sono così geloso che mi mangerei le dita! :) Sei un grande!
Merci!!
HAHA realy love it when you imitate instruments with your voice.
Question for the community, assuming many of you have been on this Earth longer than I have, and may be super savvy about music arrangement: If disco was invented in the US, what's the reason behind strings having been featured in disco songs? I've thought that was more of a European thing since I was a young kid. Just curious, especially when I began listening to music when more synth sounds predominated the scene as a 1983-born should.
Thanks!!
The Dr. Is in the house, baby… ohhhh yeahhh. That’s baby-making music 😅
Hello and thanks a lot Sergio, I adore Disco! Could you please say, or better yet show, what electric violin effect, was used in the immortal Italodisco hit 1983, of your fellow countryman, Ryan Paris - Dolce Vita? Is this ARP Solina? Composer Giombini himself, says that he did not use the string machine, but then what kind of synthesizer can produce such a beautiful, warm, analog effect? I doubt it was one of the three synthesizers, used in Dolce Vita: Oberheim OB-8, ARP Odyssey MKII and Minimoog. Many people try to replicate this effect of strings, but no one has an exact repetition.
Awesome🎉
Awsome. Love it 💪
You made me spend $$$ bus so happy and pumped up to use it asap
The plight of the fumble bee!
Is that the Rocky end credits theme?? Yo Adrian!! We did it!!
That comment was for the man in red have accent.your doors were open wide I can tell you knew right away bless you....enjoy✅💯💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺💺
Have fun dudes!
Dr Mix a VST salesman now!!
I don’t mind. I found it interesting, even though I won’t be buying the software.
Can you recreate one of Paul Buckmaster’s string arrangements for Elton a John records?
I'm more of an 80's and 90's type, but the 70's was cool as well :)
70s made groove music
Next time try Eurythmics "Here comes the rain again"
we all need a little piece of wagner when playing disco strings!!!!!
