I think Doctor Mix is one the most entertaining musicians on TH-cam.. never knew the complexities of the orchestra arrangement in this song and his skilful use of those expression pedals was awesome.
How does Dr. Mix not have a millions subs yet? What’s wrong with these non-subs? What other TH-camr has this talent and energy in a studio. Great work as usual.
Pure genius. Just imagine how much money both Epic Records and Quincy Jones could have saved in production costs if they had just hired Doctor Mix and a New England Synclavier!
This is a good midi production no doubt, but really go back and listen to the texture, expressiveness, performance, and vibe of the real thing…no comparison in all but the most basic sense.
The advancements on keyboard horns in the last decade is amazing. I would love to see you tackle some Chicago with those horns. Also your ability to play in the pocket is a gift. You can hear the brilliance of Quincy Jones in this as well.
Awesome take man! I would do An overdub of the violin section, some xylophones/water filled glasses and that subtle guitar part and it would be exact! Thanks for causing me to listen to that track more closely. It's an awesome composition
SWAM has a really nice brass and sax collection, but their strings sound horrible to say the least. It sounds like a VST from the 90's. However, nice job with the song by the way.
This is lit.🔥 You deconstructed it so perfectly that I was thinking I'm watching actual the song behind scenes ❤. I learn a lot of things watching your videos. God Bless You.
And of course the original had the amazing Jerry Hey and his Seawind horns doing the brass with his signature arrangement style . Also famous for the less salubrious Disney’s Ducktales theme’s brass in 1987 too . Ciao!
As always we learn something and get entertained at the same time. And thank you for saying that string riff is quite hard to play, its not only me then😅

I can hear that MJ's "ooooh" just before the drums
Hey keimax! How have you been?
@@Doctormix hi Claudio! Everything is fine here, thanks for asking. How are you?

I love Michael Jackson,
This was the first song I heard from the Off The Wall CD, when I was a teenager.
Hugs from Brazil!
5:47 and how very Blessed you were to have had that privilege.
The cut at 2:12 had me laughing for a solid minute 😂

There was just one little thing missing... "OHHHHHH"

Love it when you incorporate/ interact with the others in the studio - music is a shared experienced. It has really made the show better!
Those strings really lift this song throughout. I originally thought the high string part was all major notes 😂😂😂

Yo! That cut off "next" at @2:12 is the funniest
hahahah, glad you noticed it :)
Pure genius. Just imagine how much money both Epic Records and Quincy Jones could have saved in production costs if they had just hired Doctor Mix and a New England Synclavier!
They didnt have the technology back in the day bro
This is a good midi production no doubt, but really go back and listen to the texture, expressiveness, performance, and vibe of the real thing…no comparison in all but the most basic sense.

DR MIX!!! That was sooo cool! That SWAM software sounds really good. Have to check it out.
Awesome and looks like great fun
SWAM has a really nice brass and sax collection, but their strings sound horrible to say the least. It sounds like a VST from the 90's. However, nice job with the song by the way.

I agree with this choice, best original MJ song with Billie Jean for sure
(the other, Blame it on the boogie, is just a cover)
