I would not go with the order of places suggested and some can be dropped. 1. Bund for the view and restaurants if the budget fits. 2. Yu Yuan for the local items to shop and the garden. 3. Xintiandi.- It's a hip area to walk around, eat and shop. 4. Huaihai Road, Heng Shan Road.

I don’t know if I should either visit Shanghai or Chengdu. I have heard a lot of great things about both. What are your thoughts??

Oh a hard choice! If I only had to choose one, I’d say Shanghai has much more to do and it has something for everyone! So you can visit museums and historic sites but also try lots of local food and enjoy a cruise along the river too. The main attraction in Chengdu is the pandas 🐼 and they are so cute so do that if you’d prefer to see pandas then explore the city and there is also a place called Leshan Buddha not too far from Chengdu - most hostels and hotels can arrange a driver to take you out to see the Buddha and it is in my top ten amazing things we have seen I must say!

Can't wait to visit China. So clean, homeless & crime free. Whenever I visit a new country the last thing I do is visit a 🇺🇸 based store. Happy, at least China knows how important family marriage & tradition is. That's totally lost in 🇺🇸
