    So many people mistaken Chinese people and the country as dirty and poor. Wrong, Shanghai is one of the most high tech and beautiful cities i've ever seen.

      Why would they do that? China consistently is in the top ten most technologically advanced countries in the world. Sure, it's quite a bit behind South Korea and Japan in technology, but it doesn't mean it sucks.

      shanghai was the first metropolitan in Asia in the turn of 20th century, not Seoul or Tokyo...and forget about the rest of Asia then...simply nothing. So don't expect Chinese junk boats and shanty towns...

    • @EquiiRose
      @EquiiRose 7 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Yes, there is smog in the most populated cities in China, but you have to take into consideration that China holds the highest population (1.3B people) and also that China is the largest manufacturing output country. Hence, other countries don't manufacture as much anymore because they buy from China. China handles a lot of the world's production...

    I sincerely welcome you to Beijing for a trip. If convenient please make it at a warm spring day, with much fresher air than in the winter. This huge city is great for exploring history, northern Chinese food, and it's a mirror of Chinese life in the present and future. I'd like to suggest you experiencing "Modern Chinese payment" through smartphone in Beijing, which is increasingly popular everywhere in China. Though many people complain about Beijing, it does have an unique character. I love it, and I hope you'll love it too.

    Your videos are awesome, but in the future could you include some of the usual tourist attractions that are worth the average visitor's time? Museums, zoos, anything like that... Hoping for a Geneva travel guide eventually!

    • @attachetravel
      @attachetravel  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      We try to leave that stuff to the tour books mainly because they do a lousy job of covering the stuff that we cover. But you're not the first person to ask this so perhaps we need to look into it.

    I would love to go back to Shanghai one day!
    I bet it has changed so much since 23 years ago. I was only 14 then.
    We came to play football. We played Shanghai fc under 18’s team and drew the game 3:3 and got to watch the first team at the main stadium. Was a great experience. I remember we trained at a rugby teams place. They were called the “hairy crabs”.
    Would love to go back one day. Had to edit to say we stayed in the pudong area the buildings were amazing.

    Shanghai is a huge, modernised and high tech city. I think it is ahead of many cities in North America. But you can only admire the sky scrappers for so long. I prefer Beijing and Guilin as there are a lot more cultures and landscapes. Yes, even with the Beijing smog that symbolises China in our media.
