Antonio DeVoe I paid for the lift and tire installation and alignment all at once and it was about $450. I believe the brand is ready left I went with what the shop recommended. It’s basically a metal block in the back and a leveling kit in the front.
YOLOfotos alright great that’s in my price range. I’ve heard some lifts can absolutely destroy a vehicle. How has your lift stood up months after installation? Also how many inches did you go with? I’m stuck between a 1-2” lift on my 2014 TRD off road Tacoma.
Antonio DeVoe 2 1/2 inches in the front was the manufacturer listed lift height on the parts. For me it’s perfect. Tall enough to look like somethings going on but not so tall that it affects the performance in anyway. Combined with a taller tire you really are as high as an F1 50 or any other truck. Pulling up to a regular Tacoma makes it look unfinished. As far as ride suspension roll nothing has been affected.
YOLOfotos Okay last question, sorry for bugging you I’m trying to mod my Tacoma the best I can. I went to the site “Ready Lift” put in my vehicle. Which SKU # did you get? I’m looking at the 69-5212. So one I buy the lift kit and suspension off their site do I take it to my local auto shop and have them install it? Then ask for 2.5” in the front and 2” in the back. How much lift did you get in the back with your kit, because I know you got the 2.5” in the front.
Great video...I am wanting to do the exact thing - upsize the stock tire on a new Taco from a 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 and add a 1" spacer, but was unsure if there would be rubbing. On your final setup, can you confirm your tires sit flush against the body? The stance seems wide enough and no need for a spacer.
Correct. Spacers make the wheels stick out further than the fenders. They are either aligned or in just very very slightly like a quarter inch maybe. The wheels are offset this is why they are basically aligned. Zero mud or water sling occurs.
@@bobbygfl thanks for the reply. I think the truck looks real slick. I am surprised you had some rubbing considering the leveling kit - I thought those tires would be no issue. I also love the TRD rims - do you know how have much more of an offset they have as compared to your stock Toyota rims?

Hey man, looks perfect. quick question, i see you went with LT / E rated; was this intentional over SL / P rated tires, if so why? Im putting falkens on my fist gen tundra and am having a hard time deciding between SL and LT; how do you find the ride of the LT's? Not too harsh? and what air pressure you running? thx kindly!
my decision was based on tying for zero bulge at the bottom when parked. i wanted the tire to sit as tall as possible. i'm not sure about the ride. these are not bad though.
2022 Tacoma off road, 275/70R17 KO2’s. Factory levelling kit. Without driving hard, easily under 15L/100km. Smooth ride. Installed spidertrax 1.25” spacers yesterday. Rough ride, 16.2-17L/100km right off the hop (dont know high speed results yet). Going on a 2500km trip (5000 return), seriousely debating if the “cool factor” is worth the extra $ in gas and rougher ride, as well as wear & tear…
@@bobbygfl Well I honestly really need your help. I’m not too knowledgeable in this area. Like I said before I purchased these wheels for my truck. I then ordered some tires from NTB and tried having them do the install since they were already mounting the tires on the wheel. They told me that the wheel did not sit well enough on the hub to even get half a turn on the lug nuts, and that I would either need spacers or extended studs to make it work. I was a bit conflicted by this as I thought that because these wheels were Toyota that I would have no issues and would be able to just slap them on no problem.
@@wisewilcity this video shows you the wheel hub and the studs. This video has nothing to do with your problem it just shows what they were talking about. They are saying those studs are not long enough. th-cam.com/video/lvmwz8OXhhc/w-d-xo.html to my knowledge the SR5 hub is the same as the pre-runner hub. I really have no idea why they would say they are not long enough. And the fact that they said you need a spacer also doesn’t make any sense because a spacer would reduce the wheel stud distance not increase it. What they could possibly be telling you is you need to order new wheel nuts or Lugnuts they the same thing that are deeper. Are you dealing with a dealer or a shop. You may want to call around and get somebody to explain it to you. I like to start with can you explain this to me like I’m a fifth grader LOL. I did replace my wheel nuts because I wanted black wheel nuts but The original wheel nuts did work. The question for the dealer would be “are The hubs on a 15 Tacoma SR5 the same as a 15 Tacoma pre-runner?” If the answer is yes then this should work if the answer is no then find out what the difference is and if it’s the size of the wheel studs then that is actually your problem and these wheels will not work. I’m pretty sure when I ordered my wheels they asked for my Vin number to verify that they would work. That’s another option you can go back to where you purchased the wheels and have them run your Vin and see if they fit. Good luck
got a 265/70/17 setup as well with falken wildpeaks and pro comps, but the issue is that i’m rubbing even with trimming. it does have a -6 offset, but i’m wondering do the spacers help the tires not rub? and also where did you find that bike rack? good video!
AJTHEKID thank you! The bike rack is a combination of the factory rails and Yakima high road system. As far as the rubbing from everything I’ve heard spacers cause more rubbing because when you turn the tires are further out and have a greater radius. In my case that was accurate the rubbing was terrible with the spacers.
Outstanding!!! Truck looks ten-fold better. I have a 2018 Inferno TRD Off Road and plan to update my wheels and tires at some point. No hurry per the wife 😀. I am more of an aesthetics person and love the look you now have. I too don’t like tires that stick out too far. Nothing wrong per se, just not my style. Sharp truck and great videos. Take care!
Fezz’s Tacoma thank you! I appreciate your comment. More to come! The mounted ratchet straps I put in the bed are amazing. Posting that video this weekend.
Nice!! In your opinion are this rims more off set that the previous ones. I have a 4runner 05 lifted 3” with 285/70/r17 BFGoodrich AT and it’s rubbing a bit on the front so I’m considering between 1/4” or 1” spacers or TRd pro rims if they are a bit more off set. Thanks
Those wheels and tires look perfect on your truck, I want to get a set for my 07 prerunner. Good call on no spacers, I had a set on my last truck and it made the truck drive horribly - your truck looks way better without them. Sweet rig, you did it right - surprised you didn’t mention that badass trd pro grill when you were naming your upgrades
Hello I got a 2010 2WD tacoma 4 doors long bed Im rolling on a 265/65R17 tires is it worth it to put on a 285/70r17 with lift spacers? Is it gonna affect the ride and the Milage? It's my daily car.
Your channel was recommended. Great video, steady filming, informative. I put those TRD wheels in black on my FJ 5 years ago. Bought a 5th for the spare because it’s displayed. I agree that these stock rims look great from a Toyota. I also put on the Bilstein adjustable shocks / struts. I’ve been contemplating spending the money on Spidertrax wheel spacers. Again great video, I subscribed ✌️
I'm having an issue with my 2018 TRD Off-Road; the rotors rubbing the wheels (metal on metal) and I was thinking wheel spacers might help?? I'm new to trucks...
Hi looking to do the same . Just got a price doing the same except no block in the back and price was 1800 was that about what you paid the tires are AT nitto G2 I think something like that but 33 tires
I paid the suspension shop 450 for parts and labor for the leveling kit, rear block, Mount and balance and four wheel alignment. The tires I got from the tire rack, I want to say they were maybe 200 apiece something like that and then the rims were 800 for all four from Amazon. Hope that helps with that judging your cost.
@@papabear007 I figured you were close when you said West Coast big D suspension in Fort Myers did the work on my truck they are a husband and wife team I highly recommend them they are on Fowler Street just google big D suspension.
Jason Fox I love them. Near zero wear, nubs wore off evenly. Low noise at all speeds. 70 mph off road on a dirt/rock road performed perfectly. No vibration. I’d get them again.
@@bobbygfl Any difference in MPGs from what you previously ran? Any snow encounters? I have the exact TRD wheels. Sorry for all the questions. Thank you!
Jason Fox no mpg change. in Florida. No snow experience. They are aggressive though and I’d assume they’d be pretty good in the snow. No problem with the questions! Any time. The size I have at the time only came in the higher load rating. Great for a full bed or towing but there is a stiffer ride. When turning the truck is very tight. No roll. And the tire side walls have zero bulge at the pavement due to the stiffer sidewalls. I’d recommend the higher load rating. They do take quite a bit of weight to balance, but they have stayed true and no issues. Hope all that helps. I think I’ll do a review video. There’s not much out there on these tires.
I'm looking at the same wheels for my 2015 Tacoma. I've been doing some research though because they aren't the same width or offset from the stock wheels and there may be issues running the bigger tire at stock height. The Tacoma TRD Sport wheels are 17×7.5 with a +30mm offset. The 4Runner TRD Pro wheels are 17×7.0 with a +04mm offset. So, even without spacers, the wheels are already going to be 26mm (1") farther out than the Sport wheels. The rubbing is due to moving tire size 265/65R17 -> 265/70R17. It's a 13.25mm (½") taller sidewall. The negative from stock offset and lift helps negate that though. I'm trying to figure out if I can get away with no lift and the 265/70R17 tires. Seems Husky mud flaps might help, I guess they mount slimmer, or none at all. How does it all feel after driving on them for a while now?

ST That’s correct. One is near zero the other one is either negative or positive I really don’t remember the exact numbers but the new rim definitely adds some width. I think the spacers on the stock rims would’ve worked but the combination of what you’re talking about was just too much in my opinion.
Rick Chartier there is no change in the ride. If you think about it you’re really not changing the compression of the springs. Maybe slightly in the front because the control arms are stretched but definitely zero in the back. Anyway to answer your question there is no difference in the ride. And just The leveling kit and rear spacer was pretty inexpensive. Under 500 bucks. Including alignment.
Do you have a video on that front camera installation? Also what type of front camera is that, I’ve been wanting to install one on my taco but haven’t done the research yet
Great video, what brand of 2.25 spacer did you install? And in the rear, you mentioned first you added a leaf then a block. In the end, how much lift was with the add a leaf and block to continue w the rake look? Thank you for your informative video. JC
Check out my Tacoma playlist there is a video that actually shows a tape measure of the difference in height. I would say I did 1 inch in the front and 2 inches in the back.
Aj141 I had a shop do it the only thing I bought myself was the spacers. They used Ready lift 66-5055 2.25” for the front and Rear just a 2” block. Are used to inch because I already added a leaf spring so this is the equivalent of 2 1/4 in the front and three inch block in the rear. The leaf spring is only a half inch however I have a torch down and I’m gaining some lift.

@@bobbygfl thx man. I ended up going with the LT falken wildpeaks. Very happy with them.
Sounds pretty nice!
Love the look man! I purchased these wheels for my 2015 SR5 and I was wondering if you had to put extended wheel studs to get these to fit.
I did not. The studs were fine. Thanks for the compliment!!
@@bobbygfl Thank you for your prompt response. 👍🏽 Do you mind if I ask you a few more questions regarding the wheels?
@@wisewilcity no problem. Ask away!
YOLOfotos thanks for the reply and thanks for the info! subbed!
I assume these Tires will fit Without Lift might not even to remove the front flap because it’ll sit lower?
No Pro yes, you could be correct. Tire rack said they would fit stock based on the tires measurements.
Hey bro, that upgrade really transformed your Tacoma wonderfully. Great choice on the color!
PaulHD_ CYC thank you very much!!
Did you use The stock Tire sensors On the new wheels Or did you Buy New Ones? Thanks
Yes. They transferred over the stock sensors no problem.
That subtle snook decal is an amazing touch
Thank you!
Thanks
Yes for sure. I’d say 1/2 offset wider. Thanks!
Were you using hub centric spacers? I had none centric spacers and my truck rode like shit... changed them for centric, drove fine afterward
Carson Chase thank you! I totally forgot I put a new grill in. And yes they were gun centric. Still didn’t like them although the ran fine.
Hello I got a 2010 2WD tacoma 4 doors long bed Im rolling on a 265/65R17 tires is it worth it to put on a 285/70r17 with lift spacers? Is it gonna affect the ride and the Milage? It's my daily car.
I would say yes it’s worth it and also I would say yes it’s going to affect the ride and reduce your mileage but it sure would look cool
What a change, awesome!
RockaMoros thank you!
Thank you!
I'm having an issue with my 2018 TRD Off-Road; the rotors rubbing the wheels (metal on metal) and I was thinking wheel spacers might help?? I'm new to trucks...
That’s strange maybe that’ll help I’m not sure
The tires sticking out like they did with the spacers was perfect! You should have left them on!
Thanks!

That’s a good price in west coast of fl they want $600 to 700 just for front level kit . Not including tires

I did use Loctite I believe it was blue
Love your build bro🤙🏾 i have a 2014 Tacoma 4x4 all I did was put LEDS in the front and put a spacer 1.25 with 265/70/16 WildPeaks

Sounds very nice! Thanks for the comment
Dude, your truck went from SOLID to SICKKKKK !!!!! Looks dope man, congrats !!!
thanks!
Overall thoughts on this tire now that you've had them a few months?
@@bobbygfl Thank You! Ya... Not much info at all. Tough to decide. YOKOHAMA has a, decent rebate this month. Might make the jump.
So if I wanted a similar set up but I don’t want to add the leaf on the rear what spacer size and rear block size would you recommend?
Tyler B 3” in the rear will maintain the rake with a 2-21/2 leveler in the front.
Looks awesome man, I have a 3ed gen same color and that's the exact look I'm going for. Great job!
Thanks!
what year is your tacoma. i have a 2013 trying to figure out if these wheels will fit mine
It’s a 15. They’d fit. We have the same version I think.
Love to c someone with the same taste...In Eastcoast...(Westcoast)
thanks!
How does it all feel after driving on them for a while now?
the ride is rough but not as rough as my daughters stock jeep for perspective. the only rubbing was the little flap that hangs down that i removed.
Did you put on a front sway bar adjustment kit?
Damon Mattheus nope. Just the leveling spacers.
YOLOfotos The coil spring isn’t hitting the sway bar? I have 2020 Taco and I had to put on a sway bar kit. I got it through Supreme Suspensions via Amazon Prime.
Damon Mattheus no not at all. Plenty of clearance. They must have changed something on the new trucks.
Did you put bigger mud flaps on to prevent rock chips?
no, i actually cut them to make them smaller. and there have been no chips.
Man those wheels looks awesome, makes your truck look that much nicer.
Thank you!
i know you didn’t talk about this, but where did you get your toyota grill?
amazon or ebay. just search tacoma grill. it comes up on both.
looks mean! was thinking of doing the same spacer and rims just with k02's instead on my 3'rd gen. How is the noise on those tires?
MH831 almost zero noise. Really happy with these tires so far.
I have the same truck, just a 2012, and like those rims you have in the video. Are they 16 or 17s?
These are 17’s

as a fellow taco owner to another nice set up man. I did a leveling kit wheels n tires on my 2020 taco and I love it. I did the trd wheels on bf Goodrich tires next mod im gonna do is get the trd skid plate 🙂
Thank you! You’re gonna love the skid plate!
what's the offset of the old and new rims? looks like the new rims are much more aggressive compared to the old rims so the spacers weren't necessary
ST That’s correct. One is near zero the other one is either negative or positive I really don’t remember the exact numbers but the new rim definitely adds some width. I think the spacers on the stock rims would’ve worked but the combination of what you’re talking about was just too much in my opinion.
Nice video. How is the ride with the modest lift? I'm thinking about lifting my 2019, but I don't want to break the bank. I really only want about 2"
Rick Chartier there is no change in the ride.
I didn’t do one because there is a couple great videos already on TH-cam. Look up anytime camera for Tacoma.
Great video, what brand of 2.25 spacer did you install? And in the rear, you mentioned first you added a leaf then a block. In the end, how much lift was with the add a leaf and block to continue w the rake look?
Thank you for your informative video.

Check out my Tacoma playlist there is a video that actually shows a tape measure of the difference in height. I would say I did 1 inch in the front and 2 inches in the back.

Aj141 I had a shop do it the only thing I bought myself was the spacers. They used Ready lift 66-5055 2.25” for the front and
Rear just a 2” block. Are used to inch because I already added a leaf spring so this is the equivalent of 2 1/4 in the front and three inch block in the rear. The leaf spring is only a half inch however I have a torch down and I’m gaining some lift.

Glad you nixed the spacers, and you will be too....most tire shops won't work on your truck because of them....liability from torque issues.
