I don't understand why so many people love fragrances that have a super sharp/synthetic smell. Most of the fragrances in this list smell very "industrial" to me. I guess it is because they are linear and loud. Some of my most complimented fragrances that I used to wear also quite synthetic: clinique happy and aqua di gio. Today I'm gravitating toward other kinds of fragrance, and I'm happy with positive feedback from some of them, like ICON (Dunhill) and HOMME by Guerlain.
People's preferences change as they age. I used to love sweet, synthetic projection monsters as a teen and into my mid 20s. In my 30s it was milder, fresher more natural and subtle scents, now I'm in my early 40's I prefer unusual, complicated, rich scents that change as the day goes on. I'm wearing vintage Paul Sebastian as I type this, I wouldn't have touched it with a bargepole 10-20 years ago when I'd have been wearing something loud and brash like Joop, Le Male or Obsession. It's the same with food, women, films, comedy, clothes, music, cars etc - as you mature your taste usually becomes more refined and sophisticated. I say usually as it's not always the case, but more often than not. Young noses gravitate to sweet, noisy scents, you can see it a mile off when you view someone who's in their 20s profile on Fragrantica and see what's on their shelf compared to someone 45. It explains why things like Invictus are so damn popular, it's all the young pups buying something to wear down the club to pull a young bird - whereas the older guys are rocking Terre d'Hermes or something along those lines.

I’m always complimented for my clothes, but never for a perfume!
I don’t mean to make such an obvious observation but perhaps you aren’t spraying often enough or maybe you’re spraying in the wrong places. With that collection you should be getting lots of compliments.
Can depend on how you look also. If you're ugly, a woman might be afraid to complement you in case you think she's flirting and try it on with her. If you're very good looking, they may assume you're arrogant with it and not say anything as they think you'll get an even bigger head. If you look stern and unapproachable, that rules you out too. If you're in the middle and look jaunty yet approachable, that's likely when you'll get complemented. I have a lot of female friends, I get a lot of insight on how their minds work and some of it is downright bizarre. That stuff above, came from more than one of them, but mostly about clothes and shoes, but it'll also be relevant with fragrances, looks, anything really. If you're a 9 you're stuck up, if you're a 3 then steer clear as they'll be needy, if you're in the middle they'll find you unassuming and safe.

Can someone explain to me, what's happening in the picture at 6:49?? He's playing a left handed guitar as a right handed player, while almost breaking his fingers trying to play a chord. LOL To the topic, i bought my first two fragrances a few days ago, Dior Sauvage EDT and D&G The One. Both on this list so i think i made a good choice for starters :D
I have over 150 frags, some cheapies like CK, some fairly expensive like Roja GB and everything inbetween including almost everything on this list except Bulgari, I can't stand it, of their daft v for a u in everything. Pretentious cvnts. The thing that's gotten me most compliments in the past few years? Playboy London. It's £4 a bottle. I keep it in my gym bag to spritz myself when leaving as it's cheap, I don't care if I lose it, have it nicked from my locker or break it, and it's pretty fresh. Girls have told me it's lovely, my mates have asked me what it is, even randoms in shops have asked what I'm wearing as they like it. Kinda a kick in the teeth when nobody has commented on something super niche and pricey, but if it works it works.
Personally, I find it too smooth! It's so incredibly inoffensive that it hardly gives me any attention. Sometimes a fragrance need a little bit of "oompf" to get people to turn their head or comment on it. AHSEE is a bit boring imo.
I've many fragrances, and AHSEE is one of only 2 fragrances that I've every recieved an unsolicited compliment for, even if that compliment was from another guy 😄
Some say it’s just batch variations but some bottles definitely aren’t as strong as others it seems, only time will tell, although my weaker bottle is also more ‘smooth’ I’ve noticed
Creed Aventus, and everything inspired by it, or copied from it, so Armaf CDNI edt edp limited edition , Mancera cedrat boise, nichane hacivat, mont blank explorer etc , are all guaranteed to give you compliments.
If you like Aqua Marine try Aqua Amara. Beautiful floral with a hint of a dry orange/citrus. It doesn't get super hot where I live (Low 90's on the hottest days) but it's wonderful for the high heat.

I have worn Club de Nuit Intense Man EDT 5 weeks. Heavy sprays on skin and clothes. I am light skinned, 6’3”, athletic in my 60’s. Not ONE single compliment, and poor longevity.
Mancera needs to marinade, because it does get stronger i bought mine last year and was disappointed with the performance. Until I tried it recently and it was 10hrs plus. Not my favourite though too synthetic to my nose. I have a fragrance clone oil that smells much better creamier.

Have to say my most complimented fragrance has always been JPG La male . Don’t use it now but wow this was a compliment magnet
The old formulation was a beast 💥
My current rotation includes 1. Hugo boss dark blue. 2. YSL y eau fraiche 3. Hugo boss just different 4. Dunhill century
I still have fingers crossed for a VPH EDP release. Come on Versace!
That would be awesome!
I didn’t know Binging with Babish reviews fragrances too lol
Lmao 😂
So is Chanel allure homme eau extreme not a good compliment getter?
Personally, I find it too smooth! It's so incredibly inoffensive that it hardly gives me any attention. Sometimes a fragrance need a little bit of "oompf" to get people to turn their head or comment on it. AHSEE is a bit boring imo.
It’s super great. It depends how u wear it / what u act like
Get the original as a versatile fragrance
I've many fragrances, and AHSEE is one of only 2 fragrances that I've every recieved an unsolicited compliment for, even if that compliment was from another guy 😄
Axe is the most complimented I've had 🤷🏽♂️
I'm surprised Chanel de bleu or aqua di gio profumo weren't on here
What about BLEU DE CHANEL.???
Great vid as always man, never knew mancera got reformulated though
Yep I do own it agree its fantastic especially its performance but sadly discontinued
@@SchoolOfScent its finally discontinued? Been hearing about it for a year or two. I scored a 1.7 off Fragrancenet for $21 on clearance either 2016/17. About 3/4 left. May sell if the price starts increasing.
My most complimented are Versace Eros Flame and MB Explorer
Would you recommend blind buying mancera cedrat boise?
Over all the ones i’ve had, Atittude from Giorgio Armani was one of the most complimented ones . Calvin Klein Euphoria did a good job too.
I use aqua di gio as the signature scent, I love it
I did too, buy I think both Profondo and Profumo are better
still, if there wasn't for those, would be one of my absolute favorites
That’s a classic you can go wrong with that lol
This is a really nice video man
Would u recommend montblanc explorer, montblanc individuel or Versace pour homme for a versatile long lasting fragrance
None of them have beast performance, I would suggest VPH or Explorer, but get YSL Y EDP if you want longevity
@@SchoolOfScent thanks
Really need help.. mancera cedrat boise or versace pour homme?
my most complimented is PDM Layton followed by Xerjoff 40 knotts
What's good bro? With Cedrat Boise being a screw on, can you still take the sprayer top off of it off and decant it like other fragrance bottles? Thanks in advance... "THUMBS UP"🥊🔔
I was thinking, “my man is doing alright!” Then i saw the “not my car” text 😂
😢
Why is La Nuit L'homme by YSL not on here?? It's the most complimented on so many lists..
Why is X not on the list?
Hey! Could you do a video on hot summer night out fragrances?
What about Rasasi Hawas
Guys choose one mont blanc explorer or cedret boise?
Well I have an oily skin .. le male le perfume and explorer lasted more than 10 hours
I think you should make more videos like this very engaging and helpful!
Thanks, will do! Most complimented videos or videos where I get the opinion of the community?
Do you think Dior Homme Intense is a good perfume? 👍
Absolutly
Absolutely
Umm YSL La Nuit Del'Homme of course. How do you not include this?
Prada black is my most complimented
Underrated
I have worn Club de Nuit Intense Man EDT 5 weeks. Heavy sprays on skin and clothes. I am light skinned, 6’3”, athletic in my 60’s. Not ONE single compliment, and poor longevity.
I love your channel and IG. Fun music!!
Thanks bro 😎
The Versace is my daily driver . Fantastic scent
YSL Y, YSL La nuit de l'homme, Hawas, Vintage emperor, Mont Blanc - Individuel, Pie - Givenchy, Aqua di gio profumo, Azzaro wanted.
YSL Y kinda underrated, get some compliments on it for sure! but the performance isnt the best
Excellent video. Thumbs up 😎
Thanks 😃
Sometimes the most simplest fragrances can be the best ,but for me my most complicated fragrance is azzaro chrome united
Mancera needs to marinade, because it does get stronger i bought mine last year and was disappointed with the performance. Until I tried it recently and it was 10hrs plus. Not my favourite though too synthetic to my nose. I have a fragrance clone oil that smells much better creamier.
Best seasonal fragrances? For example winter summer autumn spring
True. I never a compliment from my bottle of eau extreme.
🥲
Same here
The OG is nice tho
Does Cedrat boise actually get y’all compliments? Seems too smoky for most people’s tastes (including myself, I mix with CdN to tone things down)
Most women like the fresh and clean, or Sweet and sexy, kind of fragrance’s on a man. That makes up 90% of complements.
Smoky, woods, oud, floral notes, etc - less complementary.
I have several frags that get me compliments. Top 3 "Coach new york" "Azzaro wanted by night" "CH 212 VIP black"
I get big comps with chrome 👍
@@inflight5910 Nice
I’m sure it’s been reformulated since, but ten years ago CH 212 NYC used to get me a ton of compliments. These days Spicebomb does it for me (autumn or winter only)
212 nyc is still awesome imo!
@@SchoolOfScent is 212 the same as 212 NYC Omar?
Invictus Legend gives me the most compliments
The Invictus line is a safe bet 💪
