Wizz sounds slightly hotter, but Duncans sound smoother, more well rounded and controlled. Wizz do sound good though. Lower output pickups always sound better through a good high gain amp.
I agree with the comparison part, but the high gain comment is just personal preference. I think most high gain amps sound better with low output pickups, but I don’t think any high gain sounds better than loud, punchy, Duane Allman(ish) sounds that sound overdriven but are almost clean.
wizz on the neck sounds amazing - very crisp and airy - but in the bridge i find the duncan much better - more growl and midrange crunch - whats your opinion ?
Id probably agree with you for the most part, but i prefer the less growl/crunch in the bridge. Allows me to let the amp work. No wrong answer though when it comes to preferences. Cheers!
Antiquities sounds wonderful - smooth, even and singing compared to more articulate but relatively "spunkier" Wizz pups. One is not better than the other, both are great, only musical context can best determine that. Nice playing :)
@@VisualGuy your videos are great as always . I just want to ask you what is the difference between wizz clone and sheptone tribute A5 ? What would you use if you had to choose one of these two?
I think it would depend on the guitar. One set is A5 and the other is A4. The Tributes are lower output so if you want cleaner amp tones, then go with sheptone. If you want that woody/airy flavor, then go with Wizz! Can’t go wring either way.
