it's crazy how players tend to underestimate or just flat out forget how devastating Fire can be in this game, and only remember this when it's already too late.
Even I've done it. I've been comfortable in my LIS base, feeling all end-game, when a coupla raiders come down and set everything aflame and all I've worked for just starts falling apart. That's the crazy thing about this game, even when you know you're comfortable and you've thought of everything, something _you know_ can happen happens and rocks your world. 8/10 because it's good but frustrating.
Personally, I think I'd rather prefer to rely upon the Firefoam Spit gene, or the Waterskip psycast, than these Firefoam Packs, since I might want to carry something more complimentary, such as a Jumpjet Pack, or Shock/Insanity Lances.
For static defense, wouldn't firefoam poppers be better? I generally prefer to equip everyone with Low-shield packs or with any psylance type. Since I trade a lot, I generally have enough for everyone and then some.
This is just one solution, among many. Yours is a better option _if_ you can afford it. Hell I use locust armor with shieldbelts from Vanilla Utilities Expanded. There's a lot of ways to go about this, I just wanted to highlight how strong pop-packs are. One advantage they do have over static poppers, they're reload-able. One pawn with a pack can cover a lot of people a lot of times for a very low cost. Missing out on a single shield pack or psylance might still be worth it!
@@VenomSteak I watch all your videos, so that question is moot. If you're asking me what my problem is... I never want to craft anything until I can get the perfect production specialist up and running.
@@VenomSteak you know you just need 2 colonists to put out that fire? You dont really need this. That tool should remove fires on range of 100 tiles to be useful on putting out massive colony-destroying fire

Fire protection always seems like a wasted effort until you need it
Its a waste of time until you get attacked by an impid raid.
That was a HUGE load at the end
I gotta say, this was a good short tip video, but the ending stun locked my brain. I was not expecting that.
🤣
Surprisingly, i never used anti-fire devices... Better do it in the next run, thanks for the advice!
No problem.
Just make your base entirely out of stone, can't burn what doesn't burn

totally agree.
I started using them by chance, not having anything better to equip, but now I have a couple always ready
They're a solid tool.
This is really useful for your fire-fearing vampires in biotech.
Love these! Can't wait for the next one! ❤
very underrated keep it up
ahhh THERE WAS A GHOST! IT LEFT A BUCNH OF ECTOPLASM ALL OVER THE WALLS AHHHH
Why am I not using these indeed.
Makes sense to build one of these to handle a field fire instead of losing sleep beating it out all night.😉

I think it's good to mix it up. Have some lancers, jumpers, and a few firefighters.
Super handy when your store room catches fire and gets up to like 500 degrees F. Beeline to the fire and blow it all over the room.
Exactly, really takes the teeth out of fires.
Because i just forgot it existed.
I have fire extingishers in all rooms anyway, no need to carry them around.
I should really start doing that, an end-game colony can easily afford that.

Uh. It’s true that 30 chemfuel for one charge is much cheaper than 75 steel and one component. Alright. I’ll give it a try.
I actually find these very useful, but mostly capture them. My manufacturing game is pretty weak.
...would a manufacturing tutorial be something you'd watch?
@@VenomSteak I would watch that 100%
@@FriHo245 I'll get it started then.

I mean its good but i return the favor by sending in my army of boom rats their like walking landmines
forgot about you telling me that tomorrow youll make a video lol sorry
And just like thag mechanoids are easier thank you forgot you coukd wear them i didn't know you voukd refuel them
You're welcome! No more struggling against inferno cannons, no sir.
i dont know to me it is still kinda useless
What? Useless!? It puts out fires and it's cheap to refuel! Surely that isn't useless?
