  • We continue our journey of discovery. Our third and fourth nights in a rooftop tent taught us how to cope with heat and no air .... open the windows and let the bugs in! It's better to be bitten (we were on Malaria medication) than struggle to sleep.
We only had one full day in this magical park, and it really was not enough. We will definitely be back to visit Mazhou camp and Mapungubwe even though it is such a long drive away. The confluence must be wonderful at sunrise or sunset, as it was, we ended up visiting in the heat of the day.
Do yourself a favour and if you are ever in this part of the world, take the time to visit it.
Bookings can be done online at www.sanparks.org

Wow, what an incredible elephant sighting! Wish I'd seen this before we booked our next trip to Kruger but it's too late now as we are off in a couple of weeks time. Will definitely include Mapungubwe on our next Kruger trip. Enjoyed watching.

This park is definitely worth a visit and it appears that the elephants do this quite often. Enjoy your trip to the bush, wishing you many wonderful sightings 😁

I have driven that Alldays road....never again...But if one doesn't mind the drive, Maphungubwe has a lot to offer.

😂 yes the Alldays road was a bit of a shock! We loved Mapungubwe and will definitely be back, such a magical campsite.

I like your videos but would preferred the wild sounds for background!

Thanks for the feedback, unfortunately we did not have very much audio of wild sounds ( I’m sure we will get better at recording them as we get more experienced- this was our first attempt at videoing any of our trips)
