10:03 Back in the day: "no hot coffee because we want to sell more games to younger audiences" Today: (exact same thing) The irony is that the game is full to the brim with gangs, curse words, robbery and theft, cold blooded killing and torturing, picking up hookers to do it in the car and all the inappropriate things you can name, heck even lap dances! and it's still labelled to be playable for young audiences, but as soon as the dirty deed becomes an interactive minigame, its rating instantly becomes worse and they can't sell the game. Keep in mind this game has everything else i've listed above, plus in one early mission where you go to a house of ballas and beat them up with a baseball bat with Ryder, you can see a scene on the side when they enter the house where a girl is giving a guy a blunt jinski, i remember seeing that and being like "this game already has sex stuff in it, and even when it's not shown it's implied and 90% of people will understand what is implied". The censoring of stuff is so ridiculous it's hilarious.
Exactly. So much dumb talk over a mini game which fully fit the whole nature of GTA. Outrage and games withheld from sale till it was patched out. Yet the whole concept is about Do what thou wilt, murder mayhem and be paid for it. Irony at it's finest!
I remember that Blockbuster refused to even stock the game to rent, and yet they had Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude, which is a game that is nothing more than trying to get laid, all sorts of nudity and sex, hell even a teddy bear wearing a dildo. But GTA SA was off limits
They had no trouble selling the game when the original hot coffee incident came up. More people were actually buying the game to see what everyone was talking about.
Spoiler free tip: While gang territory is worth doing, don’t bother taking over areas that aren’t required as part of a mission. Wait til closer to the end of the game to take over everything.

Just finished San Andreas two days ago and it hits way different when your older. This game has way more activities to do than GTA5 (story-mode). You could say San Andreas remastered is basically GTA6 while we’re waiting for it.
San Andreas is the only one of the 3 I never played. My brother did that one and I watched. Lol I used to enjoy driving nowhere listening to the radios on 3 and Vice City. Loved the older ones. Glad I can finally play SA for myself
This game was way ahead of its time for a 2004 game. Actually I love all three of these games but I am really looking forward to play San Andreas the most cuz of the amount of content the game has to offer.
I remember playing through GTA 1, 2 and London, then hearing of the releases of GTA 3 and Vice City but it was the build up to the release of San Andreas that gave me that first experience of being incredibly excited for a video game release, buying all the PlayStation magazines on release day to get the latest screenshots and any info!
This was a brilliant breakdown for new comers, I will say one activity that gets overlooked a lot because most don't even know it exists is the drug courier missions! You hop on the BMX at the liquor store near town square and go round delivering packages, it's pretty sweet!
the fact that your guy can eat in a game back in 2004 is amazing, we would turn it on just to work out and see the gains, or even just to play a game of pool lol. games now don't even offer that.
Fastest way to get rich in SA is the race track. Save game so you can reset if you lose. Do it kinda early and you'll be good all game. No cheat needed
@@Whatevs_Punyeta I start out by getting a fire truck downtown and doing the firefighter stuff to get $10k+. Then buy the property available near downtown and save the game there. Drive 1 minute up the road to the indoor track betting thing and bet all your money on the worst horse (1/11, 1/10 odds, that kind of thing). If you lose, reload that save and try again. If you win, drive back to your purchased property, save, and come back to do it again. Rinse and repeat until you have millions.
Gangwars and robbing houses for Ryder, a gang member, were in the original. Like doing paramedic missions and cop missions increase your health and armor stat, God im old now lmao. Ur great and these videos have me feeling like I'm in HS again getting hyped for this game, again lol
people often overlook the stuff like paramedic, police and fire missions but they're worth doing as gives you maxed out health max armour and fireproof.

I still have my GTA San Andreas strategy guide that I got from GameStop back in 2004. The hype was real leading up to its release. So many great memories.
Okay my jaw dropped when you gave the fact about CJ and his driving stat, like how he uses the mirror to back up when his stats high...I've been playing that game since 2012 and never even knew that🤯🤯🤯🤯
I remember how excited I was reading a gaming mag that had like a 10 page exclusive on SA and seeing pictures of CJ getting perused at night in the woods by a helicopter spotlight. My hype was off the charts and the game lived up to it.
I was hella young probably 9-12 years old and my brother convinced me because our dad was going to buy us only one game and the way he explained it to convince me to pick that game was fucking hilarious. He said you could jump over cars. Not sure why I was interested on that but it worked. Basically he was trying to say you could do anything you want in that game. Glad I picked it.
Hell yeah I'm getting this when it releases! These three games were and still are apart of my childhood. It's going to feel good going back to these in all of their remastered definitive glory! We don't have too long to wait.
Man so many memories with this game. The PS2 was for sure hands down the best console of all time. The nostalgia and how simple it was back then. Glad I lived it and sucks for the gen z. I really hope they give it a try.
This game was truly something special. My first gta was gta 3, but vice city was already out by the time I played 3 for the first time. Right after that I played vice city....soon San Andreas was coming out and I couldn't wait to get into my keyboard typing class in high school just so I could follow the progress of the game. Screenshots and previews will often come out and we lost it with the amount of activity they claimed u could do in the game, like playing basketball for example (although it sucked once u get to actually play it lol). This game was just something else, and Mark one of the best eras of gaming. That year alone resident evil 4 and metal gear solid 3 came out on ps2....great memories.

Gang warfare in the game was always there and is not a "new" feature, it was accessible after Running Dog and you worked against Ballas and Vagos. There is coding in the OG that suggested they wanted to continue it into other cities and had other gangs most noticeable as the npcs in San Fierro and Los Venturas via the teal colored eses and Korean, triad and Italian. Unfortunately any gang warfare gets cleaned up once you're forced into the country and is no longer accessible..take your time with it in Los Santos easily the best mechanic they had outside of the import/export.
Fat CJ has the funniest lines. "Lunch Money" when he picks up money or stuff about having a heart attack in free roam. Plus that voice the voice actor puts on lol
I’ve got that Game Pass! I’m looking forward to jumping back into San Andreas! I was there for the launch at game stop way back when! Excited to see it all updated.
The hype build up the couple of months, weeks and days before San Andreas released was unbelievable. I was 15, I took in every single bit of information I could find from Gamesmaster magazines and analysed every screenshot for hours. And when it came out it still blew me away. Seriously good times for games, the industry has stagnated and gotten worse over time, but those memories are amazing.
2:35 I recommend making CJ fat it is one of the funniest things you'll ever see some of his voice lines are hilarious (for example I'm gonna eat you fool ) lol 🤣🤣 . Also this game had a photo mode before it was a thing you have to have a camera to take pictures though
I don't think they'll ever capture the magic of San Andreas again honestly. It was too good of a game. I hope they have the entire soundtrack again. Was such a huge part of the game for me. Every channel had its gems. Funk to hiphop to country to alternative to reggae to classic rock. So good!
This provides a great amount of gameplay hours, i highly recommend starting from gta3 and seeinf the game grow and improve in each entry after. As sick as they all are, going backwards can really feel like a slight downgrade mechanic wise. Gta3 has the best aura and atmosphere, a little more quiet n solemn.

Back in the day: "no hot coffee because we want to sell more games to younger audiences"
Today: (exact same thing)
The irony is that the game is full to the brim with gangs, curse words, robbery and theft, cold blooded killing and torturing, picking up hookers to do it in the car and all the inappropriate things you can name, heck even lap dances! and it's still labelled to be playable for young audiences, but as soon as the dirty deed becomes an interactive minigame, its rating instantly becomes worse and they can't sell the game.
God of war came out around the same time and had bare ass titties. Not a mention from the media.

They had no trouble selling the game when the original hot coffee incident came up. More people were actually buying the game to see what everyone was talking about.
