@@ras573yes because the ottoman elites were always "Rumis" from western anatolia and southeastern who mostly came from orthodox christian backgrounds. Furthermore ottoman muslims always lived side my side with christians so the influence is there. However you can say the same that Subcontinent and indonesian islam has a lot of hindu remnants in it too.

sunnis are in general weak, they cant even theologically compete with shias, thats why they rely on propaganda and ignorace of people. If you just knew your religion, you would undertand why safavids, who was sunnis in origin and decendants of a great sunni scholar converted to shia

No one opposes salafism except the worshippers of their desires. They don’t want the religion of the prophet peace be upon him and the sahaba, they want their own religion where they can do whatever they please

Imagine what these sahaba would react to modern day Sufis claiming what they do is Islam:
Salamah al-Hamdani reported: We used to sit by the door of Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, may Allah be pleased with him, before dawn prayer. When he came out, we would walk with him to the mosque. Abu Musa al-Ash’ari came to us and he said to him, “O Abu Abdur Rahman, I recently saw something in the mosque that I detested and yet, praise be to Allah, I saw nothing but good.” Ibn Mas’ud said, “What was it?” Abu Musa said, “If you wait long enough, you will see it. I saw people sitting in the mosque in circles waiting for prayer. A man in each circle had pebbles and he would tell them to exalt Allah one hundred times and they would do so, then declare there is no God but Allah one hundred times and they would do so, then glorify Allah one hundred times and they would do so.” Ibn Mas’ud said, “What did you say to them?” Abu Musa said, “I did not say anything to them. I was waiting for your opinion or order.” Ibn Mas’ud said, “Would you not order them to count their sins and guarantee for them that their good deeds would not be wasted?” We went along with him until he reached one of these circles and he stood over it, saying, “What is this I see you doing?” They said, “O Abu Abdur Rahman, they are pebbles by which we count the exaltation of Allah, declaration of His oneness, and His glorification.” Ibn Mas’ud said, “Count your sins, for I guarantee that none of your good deeds will be wasted. Woe to you, nation of Muhammad! How quickly do you run to your destruction! Here are his companions, may Allah be pleased with them, numerous around you, these are his clothes yet to fade, these are his utensils yet to break. By the One in whose hand is my soul, perhaps you are upon a religion better guided than the religion of Muhammad? Or have you opened the door of misguidance?” They said, “By Allah, O Abu Abdur Rahman, we intended nothing but good.” Ibn Mas’ud said, “How many intend good but are not right! The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, informed us that people would recite the Quran and it would not reach beyond their throats. By Allah, I do not know that perhaps many of them are among you!” Then he turned away from them. ‘Amr ibn Salamah said, “We saw most of them in these circles attacking us on the day of Nahrawan with the Khawarij.”

Sufis unfortuanetely have a bad reputation these days due to some extreme practices, however Tassawaf is an important part of Islam and islam reached different parts of the world at the hands of various sheikhs, if you read Thomas Walker Arnold "Preach of islam" you will see the important role of these preachers. However at the same times certain Sufi sheikhs caused a lot of havoc for muslim empires politically. The Salafi sprectrum while it's very attractive to many people who are fed with Taqlid in their societies has its own set of issues and extremists too and are they are not united either. We should understand what Tssawaf and salafism is 1st before jumping to conclusions.

The whole think let people to Bidaa is because lack of knowledge and not being objective also one of the then have to do with where you come from if you are from asia and middle-east it easy for the people to believed in unauthorized and non Provence Maracle Pryor and other stuff because many become muslim from polytheism like there are so mush going on in india and pakiston because many are not objective and become muslim from hindu even in there cultures they are superstitious. Even thow I my self is in tariqa they are bad and good every where. Cleaning bad out of someting is good but unfortunately base on my understanding many of ours salafi brother's are rejecting completely the concepts of tasaawuf.

Very True, With Subcontinent muslims coming from hindu origins superstitions run strong in many people, but the same is said in other parts of the world too. Previous beleifs always blend in. As for salafiyya it seems to more popular in the west than in muslim majority countries because i think tariqats are always very localized to a certain region. Like the chisti in india, the tijaniyya in senegal, the shadilli in north africa etc.
