@Black & White haha that's so made up. Wes only wrote parts of the script in part 3 and didn't make another Freddy movie until New Nightmare. David Miller designed the original make up for part one and left to work on other projects after the first one became a success. Kevin Yahger took over the Freddy makeup for parts 2 & 3. Kevin had to create a different more simple design because he found David Millers original makeup too complicated since it was put on in layers. idk where you got the idea that burn victims protested the movie. Never heard of this before ever.
He's VERY respectful to the audience and he's a very respectable classy man.. he doesn't usually walk around cursing just cause. Not everyone sewers every 3rd word any way. This man has been around for a very long time . he is a classicly trained actor. He's just a nice classy dignified man. He's a rare breed.
Fun fact: Robert Englund had recently said at a convention that the New Nightmare Freddy was his favorite makeup and favorite movie of the series. It's my favorite design too. What a badass look. The long coat, ripped flesh, bone hand, muscular body, small pupils, and rotting smile. It's a look I wished we'd see in future movies.
This Halloween I decided to watch New nightmare again because, unlike the previous elm street movies, I hadn't seen it in a long time. I fell asleep not too long after watching it and I had a nightmare with Freddy in it!! Now Freddy horrified me as a child but of course as I got older I stopped being frightened. So it surprised me to have a dream like that😂😂😂New nightmare was so scary, Wes Craven directed the two scariest films out of the series!! I hate that Robert can't play Freddy anymore and I hate that Wes is gone!!
The funny thing about Robert is that he's a major talker. He talks, and talks, and talks, talks...and the more he talks, the more animated he becomes, and at some point in his chatter, he's GOING to naturally do something Freddy-esque with either his voice or facial expression.

I was at a restaurant called El Coyote in L.A. in fall of 1988. M Godfather and I were sitting in the lobby waiting for our table to be ready. I saw Robert Englund at the bar having a drink with a female. I recognized him immediately, not just because of Freddy Krueger, but because he played Willie in the tv miniseries “V.” I wanted to get his autograph but I was a little star struck. All it took for me to get it, was for my Godfather to ask me if I was chicken. I’d just graduated from college that summer. I’d just started teaching second grade. So the only piece of paper that I had with me that day was a brochure for my Tax Shelter Annuity (TSA) which I’d just signed up for. That’s what I handed him to sign. It reads : To Eileen, “Sweet Dreams, Freddy” Robert Englund. He was very sweet, polite, and soft spoken. 🙂
